Have finished Diamonds at Dinner which I enjoyed very much.
An easy read and would say at 99p worth the buy, good to take
on holidays as not tasking in any way.

Started reading Peterhead Porridge by James Crosbie £1.19
kindle edition.
The first page had me smiling and then laughing.
It about the funny side of life of Scotland's most notorious prison.

Crosbie was arrested for armed bank robbery for no other reason
than he was bored. Some of the nick names of hardened prisoners
and warders are hilarious .

Just finished a Miranda dickenson Welcome to my world. quite a light read, not my favourite of hers but I enjoyed it, didn't need a lot of thinking, easy bedtime read. I did feel it was a bit predictable though.

Good day to all you readers :-D <3

Just to say I've been struggling along reading J.K.Rowling's 'Casual Vacancy'. I say struggling because I find the story a wee bit boring and even on opening the book I frankly don't care what happens to the characters! :-( anyone else find this?

Anyway I've a birthday coming up and after reading a few reviews on-line and comments from family I think I'm coming around at last to the idea of having a Kindle!! :-) .... thinking of a Kindle Paperwhite or newest? I know most of you love'm but which Ebooks are best please?

Hi Mau.....Im totally besotted with my Kindle Fire HD, simple and easy to use, depends what you are looking for.

I don't blame you for getting one, just beware, you can become addicted to Amazon like I am :-D <3 <3

Whatever you choose enjoy <3 <3

I like my kindle but it is the original, I think the Kindle Fire and Kindle White are a bit lighter to hold. Granddaughter wouldn't read at all she is mildly dyslectic but she does read with her kindle white. So many free books on Amazon Mau, some good ones too.

I have just finished The Midwife's Confession by Diane Chambers. It is a great book, really liked, it similar in style to Jodi Piccoult, a really good read. Can't say much about the story without giving away the plot but great characters, a one-time midwife who commits suicide leaving a confession to unravel with the potential to affect three families.

Thanks Mersey and Ann for replying.

I think it's most likely going to be the Kindle Paperwhite I choose, if it's light to hold and has non glare screen & also text can be altered, that seems ideal for me. Is the Kindle Fire a tablet? as I think I might just need an eBook.
Ann you were the very first person who said you owned a Kindle. I'd never heard of them at the time and Googled for info. in fact I mentioned them to other members of family (who'd never heard of them either! ) and now I'm the only one who doesn't use one lolol

Will be going to Curry's very soon :-D

Enjoy Mau, if I remember it does take a while for the first charge so don't get too impatient.

Oh well done Mau, just take it nice and slow and you will be fine! :-D <3 I finished the Patrick Gale book 'The Whole Day Through', the one about the doctor who works in GUM clinic and woman who comes back from Paris to take care of her naturist mother? Well it was ok but had a most sudden and unsatisfactory ending.

Then I downloaded 'A Symphony of Echoes' by Jodi Taylor who wrote 'Chronicles of St Mary's, (AnnG I think you read it?), a great central character Max, a sort of time travelling book with a humorous twist. Unfortunately I can only read this in the daytime as it is too violent for my night time reading! What a wuss!

For night time reading I have downloaded 'One Day' by David Nicholls but so far it hasn't gripped me.

Happy reading :-D <3
