Ann, yes, I have read Netherwood, and enjoyed it. I can't say that Ravencliffe has been plaguerised from any particular book, just feel that these ideas and character portraits have appeared in one form or another in many other novels. If a third book is written, the format could become a little stale. |

Geordie, I agree that it was not as good as Netherwood, maybe because it seemed a bit repetitive (of Netherwood). |

At last! The new Joanne Harris, "Peaches For Monsieur Le Cure" is out in paperback. Got it at Tesco this afternoon - it's their book of the week, and only costs £2.95. Will keep it for when we go to France next month - I like to read a book which is set in the country I'm visiting. |

Thank you Ann! That would have been a great choice but have read it already. I am still searching for something different...think that book with the woman who painted the eyeballs, has spoiled me a bit! :-D Am a restless reader right now :-D |

Have read neither of those, thanks Ann, and will have a look on Amazon to see the reviews, although I find those are not always in agreement with what I think! Picky? Moi? :-D <3 |

I have at last read Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. It took me a while to get into the style of writing but once I got going with it I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm now going to order Bring Up The Bodies from the library. |

Just finished War Brides by Helen something got some really bad reviews on amazon mainly because it wasnt transcribe very well on to kindle her writing skills got a knock as well it was either 77p or free I cant remember, however I really enjoyed the story and was gripped its about 5 young women from WW2 , I thought it was almost well written, half way through this is predicable, but was suprised by the twist at the end. Worth a look ;-) |

Finished "Thursdays in the Park" but was a bit disappointed. It was good to see a book where the main characters were not under 40s, but, if I am honest, I found it a bit boring. |
