Has anyone read 'Mrs Robinson's Disgrace' by Kate Summerscale?
It's non-fiction, in the 1850's a high-profile Victorian divorce case.
Her diary was used as evidence by her husband.

I've given up on "Fifty Shades of Grey" - far too graphic sexually even for me - disgusting actually - so now I have a trio of books which I shan't be reading :-S

Have finished Nefertiti by Michelle Moran, great read
imho, recommend it to anyone interested in the
Pharaohs', just started The Heretic Queen by same
author and is the next book to follow Nefertiti.

I am a speed reader and cannot remember which book I read last until i see the front page. I get through about ten books in three weeks these days, and some on my Kindle as well. Love Nora Roberts and her ater ego JD Robb. Amazing how one p[erson can be so imaginative in two different directions. Always thought I would write, but havent the willpower to stay focused.

A Jeffrey Archer that was on special offer from Amazon for 99p...can't remember the name of it though lol x

It is by Nelson deMille and is fictitious yet a wonderful pastiche of how things were in the 80s regarding the Middle East and problems on both sides. A great novel but maybe not to everyone's taste

Mersey I always enjoy Lilian Harry's books.

I brought a book from a charity shop. I had never read any book by this Author." Elizabeth Elgin " I am now looking for her books. I have become one of her fans.so far I have read "I'll bring you Buttercups "set in Yorkshire in 1931 it is a form of upstairs and down stair and the 1st world war. based on a love story and has some sad parts and loveing parts as well as goes into the 1st World war and the fighting in France. it is well worth a read.
I then managed to get "Where Bluebells chime" this is set in 1940 and goes into the 2nd World War

The next book I managed to get hold of"Turn Left at the Daffodiles" this is the same family during the 2nd World war and the courage of three women who join up.

If your lucky to beable to get the books in there sequnce as the family grow . it is a life story.

I have to search for these books at the charity shops now. could not afford to buy them they cost £6.99 each.

Elizabeth Elgin writes lovely books. I think the first of that series is Whisper on the Wind, I read them ages ago but have 5 of them here ready to re-read sometime.

I have read nearly of Catherine Cookson books. and Georgette Hayers books I have read many.still a few I want to get.

I like Histrocial book that are novels as well.
I have been a bookworm all my life.

This is just an added note :
The Council closing all these Libraries. have stopped young children being able to enjoy the free books they would have been able to get from their Library

My Mum took me to our LIbarary when I was four and I could chose three books. not only did this help my reading when I was at school. but also
introudced me to many authors I would never have know.? and as I advanced further with my reading i gradually found more and more
interesting Authors.
I would never have got hold of the books I did read. as we were a poor family.I did have books but not the amount I could read as I did from our Libarary
all this is now lost to children. it is such a shame.

Yes I too went to a library when very young, not a council run one though, I think I had to pay a penny a book, it was small in a little shop but I loved getting my books and read them so fast my Mum never believed I had read them properly. My parents both read but not a lot, I don't know why I was such a book worm. Loved the school library too and spent all my lunch breaks in there.

Our village library is not closing, it is being run by a partnership of the council, the parish council and volunteers.
