I almost finished my LO yesterday and then it stalled. I have a space in need of embellishment but nothing I try there looks right. I'm trying to resist getting all the boxes out but it might come to that

Yes, the sun is shining here too. When I took in one card last week (there was an envelope in the Do craft magazine which I used), the woman in the shop looked confused. Today, for one moment she was going to charge me for the five I handed to her, then she was all enthusiasm and thanks when she realised I was not buying but giving. They seem to have a lot in the Glos shop, don't know if they are selling any. I think they are good value thought, not many places you can buy hand made cards for £1.

*polishes Sarah's halo!!!!
Yes the sun is shining here too.

I took my cards into the cancer research shop yesterday, woman looked bewildered when I gave them to her, eventhough the display was rigth next to her.

Still haven't managed anything crafty, cleaned kitchen and bathroom *polishes halo* and then remembered that I was supposed to sort something for our land rover club magazine at the weekend so have done that instead.

Think I might start a page next.

BTW can you tell that the sun is shining here? I always get so much more done when it's out.

Sarah, sounds like you are going in several directions at once there.
Been in to town this morning succumbed to lunch out in Weatherspoons, including sharing a bottle of Shiraz, so well mellowed now and all fingers and thumbs on the keyboard, don't think i will attempt any crafting. Managed to get a few bits in Wilkos and took the 6 cards I had made for the Cancer research UK shop.
Daff, hope you have a great time today and enjoy Holiday on Ice.

Jude, thanks for that tip about the sale, don't think I dare look, I really don't need any stamps. I don't use the ones I have.
Jan it is all choices isn't it? But good to have a lot of photos to choose between.

Ginnie, sort out how many photos you do have then maybe you will decide to do a mini book rather than a scrap book. Or you could do the smallest size scrap book which I think is 6x6.

Have a great time Daff

Sounds like you've got lots of lovely choices Scatty

I've been tidying up a few loose ends after a little shopping trip this morning. Mostly crafty stuff; some sweet stickers and tape from Accessorize and then I stocked up on card blanks at The Range, rather restrained for me really.
Not sure what I'm going to do for the rest of the afternoon, a little HW needs attending to and then either a couple of cards for forthcoming events or working on my jewellery for my friend's wedding on the 21st - I want a fascinator and have bought some bits to try and make my own.

Hello to all the crafters,
I love scrapbooking and have such a lot of stuff that I could do more than I have time to do, if that makes sense.
I have been making 2 cards today and sorting out some more photos to use.
Daff the album for your OH sounds good I sure he will love it.
My Oh wants me to do a small album for each of his siblings for December( to early for the C word) with their family tree in but as we don't have many photos of his side I am a bit unsure what to do.

I have joined the craftbubble site and I found Daff lol. Still got to find my way around .

It sounds like you have some good shops around your way Ann I am quite envious, not being able to drive limits us somewhat to where we go,(but I still manage to spend)lolol

Scatty you have beaten me I still haven't used glitter think I might get in to much of a mess.

Oh dear Jan, once you start you wont be able to stop, glitter everywhere...... ask Daff. How she is going to do manly pages with NO glitter is beyond me.

Well didn't yoy have a good spend daff, where are you storing all this stuff? I could do with the A4 drawers but they'd have to be suspended from the ceiling, I don't have a surface to stand them on. I have got a quality street tin that has to be useful for something but nowhere to put it! I have managed to utilise the biscuit tin, that fits on a shelf on top of another A4 sized box. Trouble is I do tend to forget what is in the boxes so have to have a refresher every so often (yes some of them are labelled but not all!)

Scatty

Scatty Report 8 Feb 2010 19:37

Now then Daff that sounded like a proper shopping trip!!
just popped on to tell you I have now used glitter, only two dear little dots in the middle of some bargain tesco flowers but its a start lol
:-))

Wmsl Sarah... I had visions of a whole wrist full of Scrappers dangling from the bracelet!

Ann... I have jars and jars of washers, nuts, bolts and such like.. you know, just in case they came in handy, lolol But I am sure I have even more in the garage and the shed... now the shed will have loads of stuff!!!

Jan,I have had a brilliant shopping day... didn't get the crop 0 Dile though.. there wasn't one, so I shall go back another time, if our bank balance can sustain it!!

I haven't tried inks and stamps... so bought some pads, and stamp blocks etc... also bought some manly cardstock... some brads in camouflage colours which will be perfect... some Valentine stuff... I shall have a bash at making a card for R... and then some 12 x 12 boxes on special offer, some hole and border punches.... some more glue but in a little dispenser... will give it a try... a little A4 sized stack of drawers with five drawers for the card and printerpaper, photo paper etc...

I put the glitter back...... wasn't I good? And then found a couple of magazines..... some templates, a Fiskars desk thingy... and a manly dark green scrapbook for hubby's stuff.

I had a brilliant time!! ;¬))

On Wednesday, I'll make a start.... I have already sorted the photos out for the first page.

Love

Lol Sarah, what else??

Good idea to use washers etc. Daff will now be routing around in the garage.

SarahSalopianScrapper

SarahSalopianScrapper Report 8 Feb 2010 13:15

I'm seem to have started something with the crop-a-dile LOL

Don't forget that for masculine pages you can find embellishments in places you wouldn't usually look. I've used metal washers on pages, then again I made a bracelet out of nuts (the kind you use with bolts) LOL

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 8 Feb 2010 13:03

That is the trouble Jan, she doesn't need any encouragement Lol!!!

And that is the other problem, no matter where you look there is craft stuff to buy.

Scatty

Scatty Report 8 Feb 2010 12:32

lol Daff
Im so envious I want one, I wad looking on qvc last night and saw a nice little set :-))
Have a lovely day Daff, Go buy the shop up :-)))))))))))

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 8 Feb 2010 11:41

Wmsl.... crop o dile... I am off out to get one, lololol

Hubby dropped a bombshell on my lap last night... a huge pile of all his military photos..... would I do these for him, please? Without glitter. The man has no soul, and no style! Now... rivets and eyelets.... I have a small one somewhere that I used to make blinds once.... wonder where that disappeared to! I also used to make buttons for garments.... so could make my own from scraps of material at a fraction of the cost.... mmmmmm!!!

Anyway... some are the formal unit photos, some taken in the Gulf and other war-ry type places (I didn't realise how good he looked in uniform.... if I wasn't married to him, I'd fancy him, lolol) and others of him and his sporty military friends.... would I scrapbook some of them for him.

Well.... what's a girl to do? I have nothing in the wardrobe.... erm, I mean stash drawer, that is really masculine... ruffy tuffy soljer masculine... so I need to go and get some, don't I? Yeh!!

Julie, Ann... you'll love it... you do a lot of knitting for Littlie, and you could use some of the wool, the buttons as embellishments, and the photos of her in the garments, just start with her... it is great fun, and we are close enough to each other for you to come over and play here... the Range in Cardiff is having a papercraft day in March as well... I think the 6th, but will check for you, it's a Saturday, anyway. Pm me if you fancy going, we could go together. I am going anyway.

I am just learning, and thoroughly enjoying myself... I am very slow though, lol I have lots of brilliant ideas, but am still learning how to accomplish them...... so taking my time is better, I suppose.

Right... off to Dunelm... they have a rather nice selection of stuff there, lolol... I want to look at some military type material... I also want some scraps..... and some lightshades, and *glances at Ann and grins* a crop o dile, lololol

Jan... I shall bind my overhangs so they don't get caught up, lolol ;¬))

Love
