Linda, I prefer the stickles, too... I have a problem squeezing the pens.... I also use extreme glitter, which you paint on, and which I have used as a wash on the main backing sheet, and also used the gold to *age* the torn edges of a Christmas page... it worked really well.

Then there is the old fashioned glitter... I use that if I have a lot of embellishments I want to glitter just a bit of... I have a little tray, and I dot the glue on, then chuck em all in and shake.. I use tweezers to get them out, and they dry fairly quickly... not so good for on a page though, as the glitter infiltrates places you didn't want it to go, lol

I then have some very very fine glitter... when it goes on, it is very dense, but it has an applicator that you can use for writing,,, very good for when you want to fine, but dense glitter Key letters on a title, for instance. Took me a fair bit of practice, but I am fine at it now... very expensive, but you don't use much and it should last for years...

Love

Daff... who feels very proud at being able to help someone, lololol *huge proud, beaming smile*

Morning, a little confused today by the amount of deleted posts on this thread but I'm not with it enough for anything to confuse me.
Have just received my last subscription scrapbooking kit, took me ages to decide to cancel it but it was costing most of my crafty budget and not working as well for me as it used to. Sad though because it was so nice to know that once a month I would get a lovely box of goodies through the post

Linda, I use stickles for glitter but I have only been able to buy it in Hobbycraft so far. I found the other type sold in tubes was too thick, and i like subtle!

Hello everyone...

I didn't think of looking for silk flowers...many thanks for the tip.

Dunelm and Hobbycraft are some miles away so I will have to smile sweetly to my dear OH to arrange a day out asap!

Daff...what kind of glitter do you use please...I have seen some glitter pens. See what you have started : ))

Sallie...once I had taken out the middle I found that the flower came apart quite easily.

Hi Sallie, I think they may have had a bit more but not a lot of difference. It was better laid out though. Only a small amount compared to places like The range though.

Hi Ann,

Just wondering if the Cheltenham Dunhelm store stocks more craft stuff than the Goucester store? If it does, I thought that maybe the Nottingham store stocks more craft bits than the one we have here. Might be worth me looking.

I've got a few things to stick onto a page, so I'm off to do that now--need to get it done when feel like it.

Love, Sallie.xxx

If your grandsons are anything like our Richard and I should think they are, then glitter is certainly a no go area.

Now got a page planned out of two youngest grandchildren in their school uniforms. Will keep this one fairly simple, can't do glitter as grandson would not approve Lol!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Ann, it looks as though you enjoyed yourself in Dunhelm, it's lovely to be able to get what you need. The Dunhelm we have in town hasn't got a cafe, like the one in Nottingham. I tend to use the one here, unless I can't get what I want there, then I have to go to the Nottingham one, as it is much bigger and carries more stock.

Dizzi, as Ann and Jean said, you know when it's right, although sometimes it takes a little while to realise what's wrong with the page. Keep on trying and it will suddenly come to you, I'm sure. Good luck.

Linda, that's a good idea using a pony tail bobble. Did it come apart easily?

Love, Sallie.xx

Right Sarah, your fault. Went to Dunelm today and bought three gerberas. Not broken them down yet because they look nice in with my other artificial flowers in the lounge (mostly big poppies). Thought they would be safer there anyway, wont get crushed. Also bought a pack of flowers in browns, oranges and shades of pink, and some clear stamps, fairies and dragons!, sparkly button type things,, black and gold sticky ribbons, reel of gold ribbon, and... and.. and...

Then we also bought boring household things like a bathroom blind (already fitted would you believe?), tea towels, oven gloves, kitchen floor mop, towel.
Nice cafe there so we had a coffee and shared a toasted tea cake.

Linda, I stripped some silk roses I had in a vase in our bedroom for the page I did of my granddaughter in her Christmas party dress... I added glitter (well, I would, wouldn't I? lolol) and used the same glitter to paint some plain brads... and they were perfect! Amazing what you can adapt when you put your mind to it, isn't it?

Sarah, that means I shall have to go and visit Dunelm again *sigh*... hubby will be pleased, lol I wonder if he would fall for the *they seem to be multiplying all on their own* line, lolol

I love flowers and glitter... I love embellishments that stand away from the page a little bit... yes, I think decoupage would be just my thing... I do like the mess and satisfaction of making my own, as well....

Ann I think I have those black and red flowers, too... I didn't use them on the Valentine card, so shall have to find a project to use them up....lol Thank you for the envelope size... that'll help next time I go and play in the aisles, lol

I have had a very lazy day today, and just spent the day reading and learning, and cooking dinner for the weekend, lol.... maybe I shall do some more pages then.

Jean, I have sent you the third page, lol... and thank you for your comments, you are very kind to me, lolol....

Well, must go and stir the spagh bol...... take care

Love

Daff xxxx
