Hi Ann
Lucky you getting Hobbycraft vouchers. I'm sure i could spend any amount three times over :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I had some neocolor watersoluble crayons. I've still to experiment with them
I also had Val Holmes's Collage,Stitch and Print book. It's about Collagraphy.

Did you have any luck with the crotchet instructions?
Take care
Von

So, who had crafty presents for Christmas then? I had three dies, one a frame and various silhouettes. and two Memory box dies, Chloe butterfly and La Rue Flourish, plus some marbled paper and a pack of Art Deco papers and some Art Deco toppers, hopefully this afternoon I shall have time to have a play with them all. I also had £30 of Hobbycraft vouchers to spend.

:-D :-D

I am sure someone else must have had craft supplies as presents so do please share your good fortune. :-)

Ann
I'd be inclined to go to somewhere like Hobbycraft and look through the books because often they say for beginners but are still complicated.

The magazine that came out earlier this year was very good and really was basic. Even though I knew how to crotchet it was still helpful.

The other possibility is watching a You tube video. You will need to Google but there are plenty available.
Is it for you?
Take care
Von

Somebody who can crochet please. Can you recommend an easy to learn from book for a complete beginner?

I don't suppose you'd have made any fewer cards if you'd found them before Jean, you'd probably just have given more to charity. Make a note on next years calendar as to where they are. :-D

Bet nobody is doing much craft stuff this week. I did make a card for Grandson's fiancees birthday in January but other than that, after making so many christmas cards I seem to have come to a stop.

yes, I have had 3 lots looking, and 1 other enquiry.
but no offers. property sales are slow here, but the interest rate is down again 2 weeks ago, so may be an incentive for some. I put a half page advert in coast to coast website, getting the property out nation wide.

But for us self funded retirees lower interest rates is not good news.

I got the teddy bear supplies, already for when Gson comes later today. HAppy times ahead!

moonbi Report 9 Dec 2012 01:38

hi ladies, yesterday I had a nice day with G'son. he helped me make a decoupage card for him to give his uncle for Christmas.

I have him a few times through the school holidays and he asked me if we could but a kit and sew a teddy bear. He said they made one at school, but the dog chewed his up. so he wants to make another. I like sewing , he said.

My property is on the market, but I will be staying here until it sells. So I just had to get out my papercraft supplies and do a few. Looks like I need to get my sewing needles out too. Thats a plus + CAnt sit around doing nothing while I wait for a buyer.

For textile/yarn crafters, I found this FB page yesterday and think it is fab.

google Annie Montgomerie Dolls. I'm not sure how much you'll see if not signed to FB but the lady is also on Etsy and flickr which should also come up on google.

I suppose it also depends how many you have too. Wonder what others do?

I have a large carry box and store them in it but do keep all the smaller ones in bags, looks a bit of a mess at the moment though :-)I keep the spellbinders in the wrapping they come in and I just flip through the box, cannot seem to find a better system.

Pretty anyway Jill.

Good idea jean, a lot of them are too large for the zcD case and the Marianne folder doesn't hold that many, not cheap either.

Jill how do you store yours?

Jill in France

Jill in France Report 30 Nov 2012 21:00

Not that long as you just cut strips of 1inch by 6 and just tie them found each of the rings in the frame. After a bit. it starts to take shape :-) I want to do one in blues and white ribbon to have up in my kitchen plus will make some for craft fairs .
