I posted a commnet on here a couple of days ago, and it's vanished! Anyway, well done all crafters on here. I'm actually a card maker, rahter than being into scrapbooks, but it still involves pretty papers and 'bits'. : )

Thanks Jean, just about to start making some cards this afternoon. It is too dark today to take photos but I have not forgotten.

Gerrybear, stay with us. I started with cards and progressed to scrapping. Doing both I amass a trmendous amount of bits of paper and other bits.

I'm pleased to see that this thread has kept going - not that I do scrapbooking, but I do make cards, which carries with it a very similar obsession with paper, card, and bits 'n' pieces! Keep up teh good work all!

I have not done any scrapping in ages though I did buy 4 mini chipboard books including papers and embelishments in T*e W**ks the other day...a bargain at 99p each. I am thinking of making them into albums of our grandchildren to give as extra little Christmas presents. I have never attempted to do this before so heaven knows how they will turn out lol.

Lovely to see the thread back by the way it just may give me the inspiration I really need.

Altered books Jude. Sounds like fun, only problem I think my Grandchildren are too old for board books. I hae to get going on second eldest grandson's scrap book as he will be 21 in December, then there are christmas cards and we have a lot of birthdays in October/November so birthday cards to make, then there is a long weekend away (Our Golden wedding gift from the family, then a week in Cyprus. There are not enough days left.

I wonder how Scatty (Jan) is getting on. She was moving house so i wonder if she has internet access, I expect she and Sarah will return to us soon.
Thank you jean for bringing this back to the top, don't like to keep doing it myself.

A very basic album....using old childrens books, the ones with hard(thick) pages. Cover each page with gloss paint (takes a while and each page must be dry), thin fabric or coloured card. Then stick photo's and decorate. Doing one each for grandchildren, photo's from birth. Mines not very neat but you can be as posh as you like. Some of the card is abit thick so can't close book now, but that does'nt matter, the g/children are only 3yrs old:o))

Seems along time since we chatted about our crafts, but do a fair amount of crafting according to other threads....lol....so here is a good place to share our hobbies... like Ann said the months leading up to christmas are usually the busiest, like most other folk cards are the favourite occupation, I am well into sorting a selection of christmas cards, as I am sure many others are so it would be nice to hear about them and perhaps swap photos and tips...look forward to hear from you all...

love Jean xx

Thank you for the good wishes Linda, I found once I had started and provided I kept it simple, as I said like a decorated photo album, I couldn't leave it until it was finished.

Thanks for the info re Sissix and cuttlebug.

Many belated Congratulations to you Ann and your OH on your 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was a certainty that your OH would love your album...so many happy memories to look back on.

Perhaps I will surprise my OH with such an album on our 50th...just another 5 years to go however the way my scrapping is going at the moment I may just about get it finished in time lol.

Oh yes... tried and tested Sissix dies with the Cuttlebug using chipboard. I found no problem using just the 2 B plates and going back and forth a couple of times. They worked perfectly.

Enjoy your holidays.

Just to let you know that OH loved the scrap book as did all the family when I took it to our party, they were all in there somewhere so had fun seeing each other. I won't have time to finish it off with the photos we took at the party until we come back from tenerife. And by then it will be Christmas card time!!!!

AnninGlos Report 11 Aug 2010 20:50

Yes I have enjoyed looking back, although it is frightening doing it year by year and seeing yourself age in front of your eyes!! It will be nice to keep though and to pass on to whoever eventually wants it.

JustGinnie Report 11 Aug 2010 17:52

Oh that sounds lovely Ann, mine are like decorated photo albums as I nearly always use more than 1 photo on each page. I always think that each is our own creation so it will be as we like it not as others think it should be.
I bet you have enjoyed reminiscing at all the photos, it's amazing how the years fly by isn't it?

I am quite proud of myself as I have almost finished the scrap book of our 50 years together. It is not 50 pages you understand, I have condensed the years down to two or three pages a decade plus a few extra in some. It will be about 24 sides altogether, then I will add photos from out holiday in Jersey and the family party later. It has been difficult because I can only do it when OH is out at golf and he's cut golf down to twice a week while he has the garden to do. still about two pages to go now. They are not complicated pages, more photo album decorated I suppose but it is the style we like for memory albums.

It's good to venture outside of that comfort zone occasionally Ann.

I'm no nearer putting any of my craft bits on ebay but did take some with me this morning when I went to do a car boot sale. And sold all the craft stuff I'd took. I'd sold a few bits and pieces but then one guy bought everything I'd got left to take home for his wife LOL

AnninGlos Report 24 Jul 2010 15:36

Just finished another page. Out of my comfort zone this one as it is quite minimalistic.... for me!! Just the one largish photo in sepia and a few flowers. Pleased with it though.
