Pammy I usually use double sided tape or glue dots. Sometimes Anita's tacky glue, just make sure that what you use is acid free. Happy sticking.

Thanks to you lovely ladies I now have 15 pages 'mocked' up for my nephews 18th birthday scrapbook.
Now I need to know- what do you find it best to stick things on with ?(I have a variety of backing papers, photos and embellishments.)
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Sorry Jean I meant to say, as I tend to take photos of scrap pages indoors and flash doesn't work, it is a bit dark at the moment to take photos so I will take some as soon as the weather brightens up a bit.

I don't try and buy all the new stuff as it comes out, I do buy the Scrapbook magazine when I see it and use the freebies, I also have the Quick cards made easy magazine and that has freebies too that can be used in cards or scrapping. By doing that I used the pyramige way of decoupage and discovered I don't like it so don't do it any more.

I usually journal my pages and my problem is knowing when to stop, I tend to ramble on a bit. I always add titles, sometimes done on the computer, sometimes using chip board or other letters. I find my pages look unfinished if there is no writing on them.

Linda, did you know it is a two hour show now, lots of great tips and ideas..
I find if I just write some one liners in the albums , I try and make it amusing too. usually I write an introduction at the front and a closing one at the back...
be nice to swap pics again, both cards and pages....any offers.

As I have all the photos now for the next album for my friend and its not needed until march, I will do the odd page now and then, the last marathon was very tiring, but this should be the last one for a while.....

Hello everyone..

Thanks JustGinnie...I should have explained myself better. My dear OH sometimes thinks that he should have been born a mind reader lol. I agree the results do look very effective.

The first roll of this tape I bought was a well known brand however I have bought other widths from craft shops that were half the price and still just as good. Great for adding more heavier ribbons etc.

Jean...I have just watched the recorded paper clinic and I love the pleated ribbon effect so I will give that a go...thank you.

I was just wondering do any of you ever get overwhelmed by all the different products that are now available and techniques or do you just do your own thing? Do you add titles and journaling to your pages? I tried adding journaling but it looked out of place so I add notes to the back of the page instead unless it is on my family history albums.

I think you can buy it in most craft shops Jude.

Jude, yes that does look like the tape I have, mine I got from a hobbycraft show and they do different widths. They also used to sell it on create and craft site.

Jude,
The sticky stuff is as LindaB said very sticky double sided tape that usually has a red backing , to use with glitter you lay a line of tape on your card then remove the backing and sprinkle fine glitter along the tape, tap excess off and you are left with a line of glitter. Looks very effective.

I tried yesterday twice to add on here and both times it went awol. so i will try again, I have finished all the scrapping for a while my friend is pleased with it so thats good.I have now time to play with various things, just recieved some ultra thick embossing powder, I used to use it many moons ago, also a lovely heart punch,I have some silk card, I was wondering if it would be good to print on, so I will have a go...I have a gift to make for a little baby girls christening and thought I would try and make cradle in three d, I saw one on t.v. it was lovely and would become a family heirloom in its own see through box...it looked beautiful. so fingers x ....

I shall start saving mine Jude...many thanks.

I was shown not so long ago, by my local craft shop owner, how to add glittered lines to a page using ultra fine glitter by using the extra tacky double sided tape...the one that has the red backing. It has worked a treat.

Thanks Jean...I have now sky plussed it.

JustJean Report 21 Jan 2011 13:34

I laminate bookmarks when I put them in cards, and any special verses so the one I send it to can keep it...hope you are all well and busy crafting ,Jude great idea about the condiment holders...I have just emptied some remnants of various glitter embossing powders all different colours into one container , interesting mix, should look good... Think I will have a go at mixing some of the glittery bits you add to glue again bits in the bottom of pots, watch this space...
there is a programme on tv and every Monday there is a Paper Clinic that answers folks crafting problems, its on in the mornings....dont know if I should tell the name p.m. me if you want to know.....

Hello everyone

Pleased that your back is somewhat better Ann...don't overdo it next time!

Thanks Jude for further tips a great help. I am terrible with the ultra fine glitter no matter how careful I am lol. I do my crafting at the kitchen table...I was trying very carefully to take the top off one tub but it just wouldn't budge so decided to use a blunt kitchen knife. Oooops I glittered myself and the kitchen floor then our collie decided to see what was going on...a lovely trail of glittered paw prints. I dusted myself down outside the back door....the decking looked very pretty in the moonlight lol.

OH bought a laminator a while back and has never used it lol. I wouldn't know what to use it for either!
