No, not seen that one yet, although I am down in the wilds of Dorset so maybe it hasn't reached here yet.

Ann..have you seen the new copy of Scrapbook Magazine issue 55. There is an article on "how to make your own hardware". I especially like the idea of the small photo frame on page 34. I don't have that particular embossing folder however I do have a couple that I think would be ok.

Somebody )Linda?) asked the best card to use with pro markers. In Quick cards made easy this month: When choosing your card make sure it's ultra smooth and non porous. This will prevent the colours from bleeding. One favourite is Neenah Classic Crest £3.99 from www.crafterscompanion.co.uk available in 20 A4 sheets. You can also print straight onto this card.

Will have to try that one.

As soon as the die arrives Ann I will let you know : ))

Going off the same lay out in the magazine it says about using shrink plastic. I thought that's a good idea for making small embelishments to add to pages. I had a pack of shrink plastic which I bought ages ago on a whim and today I thought I would give it a go using a stamp....bearing in mind I have never used this stuff before!! The end result was a little disastrous...the bottom half was flat and looked good however the top half was just one hard buckled mess lol. Oh well practice makes perfect as my dear OH commented : )))))

Linda, I would love cut outs please - ordinary card will be fine if you can. One thing I lacked was the cogs so I had to improvise. Yes in a masochistic way I did enjoy doing it. Mainly because I had been lax in doing any pages lately and it made me really have to think. Yes I liked that page of the boys too. It taught me a couple of things. You don't always have to use expensive embellishments on pages you can improvise, and you don't have to have lots of photos for it to be interesting. I do feel I should have had some journalling on the page though so I may re-visit it. Just to explain what the photo is and where taken etc.

Thanks for the remark re our garden, it is not very big but we love it.

Hello everyone..

I like it Ann, more to the point did you enjoy experimenting! I love your garden...from your photo blog!! I too love pretty and also bright...I also like grunge but way out of my league though I have tried it...a complete disaster lolol.

Funnily enough Ann I had seen the article and the photos of pages and wasn't at all keen on the fantasy side...it reminded me of Monty Python lol. However I did like the page LO of the 2 photos of a boy...page 21 at the top so much so I have the Gears die on order. The die would be good for grandsons' pages I thought and as Ginnie has posted for masculine pages and also cards. I know that the Tim Holtz Alterations dies work with chipboard on the Cuttlebug as I have 2 die sets already....Elegant Flourishes and Hanging Sign.

Just thinking if anyone would like chipboard cutouts from these dies I am only to happy to pass on.

Unusual one Ann, I think I prefer pretty as well but I could see it working for some masculine pages. We have to try new things otherwise we would never know if we liked doing them or not. I have come to a stop at the moment with pages and cards but am hoping to get started again soon lol.

Well I have finished it, not sure it sticks to the rules and very strange to do, not my usual sort of page at all. I have put it on the blog, see what you think. Personally i prefer 'pretty'.

Doing a scrap book page at the moment on the Steampunk theme. Saw it in the latest scrapbook magazine. Way out of my comfort zone so not sure how it will turn out.

I love the photos Ann...that totem pole ? looks a bit scary though lol.

Thank you Ann and Jean for your comments....they have boosted my confidence no end.

Jean...I have an Olympus X-925. I just aim and click and hope for the best though I suppose it does have more modes (is that the technical word) that I don't know about lol.

Well, it takes about 45 minutes to get to but, yes we are lucky, normally in the past few years we have missed the shows (May and September) because we are in Tenerife so it made a nice change to go back to it, not cheap though £15 to get in each.
