Hello All

I havent been doing my regular quilting and card making, BUT

this week have been helping my daughter with her bridesmaid's duties.
we made the table name cards and the little boxes and the chocolates to put them in.
Photos sent to Ann for the blog.

Thanks Ann. I will sort out some pics and let you know when Ann.

Thanks too Jude. Heavens. I hope that your male parent was nowhere near such a nasty piece of work as mine was. And he taught the female parent and the sibling to hate me as much as he did. Although the female parent had some very decent creative talents, all the male parent could create was misery.

I'm part way through doing the base coat on the walls of the house hubby inherited so that I can then put on the main colour. The house will be rented out for a few years until the market improves. I've never had bother working out colour schemes for my cards and other creations but this looking at colour charts and then doing testers is really stressful. I can't afford to mess up. :-D

Jillian, we don't look on it as showing off but as a means of spreading ideas. Yes please do let us see yours. You will have to send the photos via e mail to either myself or Jude (who has access to my blog) but when you are ready pm one of us and we will send our e mails.

Morning All,

Jude I'll swallow my nerves about showing anyone what I create and take some pics when I've got new batteries in my camera. Aside from hubby and kids, I only ever used to show anything to my in-laws. I never showed anything to my family. They believed if you were showing something you were looking for praise and compliments and they didn't believe in either so would be rather unpleasant and you would be put in your place for thinking that you were any good.

I just set this new computer up last week. I have loads of cards and atc's on the old one. I will try and copy them over to this computer and see about posting some.

SylviaInCanada

I love getting the hand made birthday and Christmas cards that some of my friends make

......... but as a recipient who lives overseas, please may I make a couple of suggestions, that will hopefully ensure that your cards, made with such love and care, arrive undamaged.

The cards I receive are not from people on GR, so I am not aiming my remarks at any one person ........ they are just general comments based on my experience as recipient.

All mail is put through machines at this end so that the address can be read ......... and I am sure the same happens in other countries. This I think is what does the damage.

a) please think carefully about what you put on the card that might "stick out"

This year we got a card from a friend that had a small plastic bell attached to the front. It was only tiny ....... but it was large enough and strong enough to actually pierce through the envelope at the seal ....... ie, through at least 2 layers of the envelope (and the glue)

b) please don't put anything breakable as decoration.

Last year, one friend put 3 or 4 very tiny "ball" type decorations on the front of her card. Every one of them was smashed when the card arrived ........ and I had teeny tiny pieces of glass to sort out from the envelope and card.

I've also had cards with "puffy" fabric or paper on the front, that arrive looking sadly flattened!

I'd love to have the creativity shown by so many of my friends ................ and I'd love to see the cards as they were intended to be seen.

very sorry ladies that I havent had anything to offer to the craft blog.

I want to get stuck in, but I have too many distractions at the moment. Gson still on school holidays until the 29th, and navy son here to talk too. I want to make the most of my time with him, as once he gets posted to the fleet there is no way of knowing when we will again have so much time together.

Best wishes to all as you craft your way along <3
