I have just put some of Annettes blocks for her Field of dreams quilt on the craft blog.

Jude has had a senior moment (and then gone away until tomorrow) She has put some lovely photos of the Black mountains and Tintern on the craft blog which should ideally be on the photo blog. :-D

Jude
Just had a look at the links you gave.
Saving the crotchet ones for later else nothing else will get done today. :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-D :-D :-D :-D

I bought some silk sheets that you can print on and they are really nice and easy to do but as you say expensive.

I think you would be as well to buy a bottle of Bubble jet as it will give you more flexibility as you can then use any fabric.
Shame we don't live nearer each other we could have gone halfers on a bottle!!
I've also managed with some help from OH to print a piece that is 20cm wide by 56cm on an A4 printer by adjusting the settings.

We went to buy an ink cartridge on Saturday and the cheapest we could find was in W********ns.
Off to play in my studio now as we have another exhibition looming.
~~~~~~~~~ to everyone else
Take care
Von
No problem Pammy. I am trying to find out why some people can add and others are unable to. I don't know if it is to do with the way people register.
Have just about recovered from the Big Stamping Exhibition at Ally Pally but it will take a while longer for my purse to recover!
Seeing Jean's cards inspired me to buy a Memory Box die - I got a floral circle - works beautifuly. I also got some embossing dies, couple of lovely paper stacks ...................and lots more.
Hope to show you some results soon.
Jean - I can't post on the blog but I especially like the pinky purple card with the flowers overlapping the edge, very effective.
Ooooh do you know what, I am all inspired again. :-)
I used to knit all the kids jumpers and cardis when they were little, I even adapted patterns to suit.
I made pram and cot covers, and backed them and put wadding in the middle and quilted them.
Now nothing. lol
I bought a beautiful cardigan for myself the other day. Hand crotcheted. Lovely for Summer.
I am throwing myself on your mercy here gels. Is there an instructional video somewhere to teach yourself crochet? I tried to do it from a book years ago. I ended it with knots.
Talk about monkey see, monkey do. I can copy someone if I see it, but the book just confused me.
Thank you for hints and good wishes. Waiting the arrival of the sewing machine, and have to find time to look in Hobbycraft. Have to go into Norwich for that and it would be rude not to have a good look round all the the shops while I am there, then there's morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea to enjoy, so I can write that day off :-D
Lol Ann
I was hurrying to get piece finished whilst entertaing three small children.
O aged 5 was watching me take the fabric off the freezer paper and when I had finished exclaimed "Wow".
Jude I've emailed you re the digital imagery.
*slaps Von's wrist for forgetting to take photos.
Jude, thanks we had a lovely time at daughters, got back 4.30 today.
We use the cheaper inks as well, hadn't realised that they were dye as opposed to pigment inks.
Von Report 15 Apr 2012 20:40
Jude
The bubble jet is used for soaking the fabric before you print.
If I remember correctly you soak it in bubble jet,let it dry, then iron it to freezer paper.
I should work out the economics if I were you as bubble jet isn't cheap either although you get an awful lot of A4 pieces of fabric soaked out of it.
Good Luck
I'm really pleased with the bits I did. They were on a see through polyester and I layered them.
Stupidly I forgot to photograph it. :-( :-( :-( :-(
Take care
Thank you Von..
what l might do is buy a Lexmark colour cartridge and use it just for fabric. The one l use now is brilliant and so much cheaper but obviously not correct for this.
Lyndi....good luck with your quilting:)
