thats for sure.
I hope lyndi enjoys browsing and buying material as much as I do.
I get so tempted that it is hard for me to stick to my guideline of choosing a project first, and then buying accordingly.

Have a lovely holiday Anne.
I am going on my annual holiday in July, meeting my bro and sil in Alice Springs and going to Uluru, and taking a flight over Lake Eyre which is near full this season, after all the rain the country had. We hope to be away for 2 weeks.

Lyndi Report 22 Apr 2012 21:37

I need to get some material now. The machine can do so much that it will be a shame to waste it's potential :-D :-D

I am sure that you will have fun when you finally get it sorted Lyndi.

Lyndi

Lyndi Report 21 Apr 2012 16:52

No Ann, not quite. :-D
Once I managed to open a bit at the front I found a bag of bits to do different things. But there are certainly more switches, dials etc .........and I haven't seen where the bobbin goes yet. Have been painting (not the sort that belongs on a craft thread) and after a cup of tea am going to have another look. The machine is a Toyota quiltmaster. :-D

Lol Lyndi, does that mean that the first job is to build the sewing machine? :-)

Lyndi

Lyndi Report 21 Apr 2012 12:33

Oh dear - Have just taken new sewing machine out of the box and am wondering what I was thinking of :-S
My old 40 ish year old Singer had forward/reverse, straight/zigzag, a bobbin and tension thingies. And the handle was part of the nice solid hard case.

This one has.........................loads of bits :-D. Started to read the leaflet but as my eyes glazed over I decided I need some caffeine!! Hopefully I will soon be stitching away :-)

Jude
I have done various courses over the years but I went to university in 1997 and did a part - time degree in Art and Design.

I graduated in 2002 and I specialised in textles although my final pieces were combined textiles and hand made paper.

Now I go once month and work with like minded people and although we all do our own thing we can discuss ideas and work which is the thing I miss about University.
The course sounds good and I look forward to seeing the results.

Incidently I looked at the instructions on the PhotoFabric and it says to hand wash so I think any fabric that you print on the printer will need hand washing.
Take care
Von

Thanks for sorting the photos Jude :-D

That looks a good course for what interests you. Not for me but with your interest in printing on fabric, needlework etc, great. Is it local to you?
