Thanks Jude, everything seems to be going well with S and E and the little one,
re the crafting, I will box up some craft stuff and store it away, I had intended to do that, so I can still make some cards now and then ...not going to rush into any decisions yet just start to get rid of some bits and pieces is there anything you could use? no charge just postage, tell me what you may need and if I have it I will let you know, same goes for Ann and anyone else who looks in....
early days for your daughter yet but tell her I am praying that all goes well for her ....love Jean xxx

Why close it down altogether Jean? Why not have a set numberof craft hours, r a craft day in theweek? Get rid of ome of your stuf but not all. I am sure tht yu will miss it. I have days when I don't do anything. Maybe you just eed to be a bit more disciplined.

Well folks I have made a huge decision......I am going to close down my craft room, its taken over my life and at my age it is getting tiring , so what I need to do now is work out how to get rid of acres of craft stuff....lol... very daunting prospect.
I must say I have loved doing it over many many years, but now I want to spend more time with my family and hopefully new ggrand child but It will take some time so I will keep adding my twopeneth now and then, just thought if I saw it all written down I would do it!!!. end of bulletin...lol...
love Jean xx

Im well and truely ready to leave here! much too big for one person to manage.
I want a small 3 bed cottage up north by the sea where I can find some peace and warmth, and enjoy the sound of the waves.

Enjoy your break Moonbi and I hope the house soon sells once on the market. Trouble is it will look so nice when all spruced up that you won't want to leave it. :-)

Hi all

so the wool you are discussing is really fleece?
best to catch that lamb I think.!

Yes Ann the decorating /painting is being done with the idea of making the house attractive to potential buyers. I am about a month behind in all my jobs, so now hope to put it on the market in September.
After the painting is finished, I have to tackle the outside. my plan is to get a man in to do a big clean up of the garden, and I will borrow my neighbours water pressure machine to wash the windows and walls.

Im leaving on Sunday, all ready to go. Just want to see Navy son on Saturday before I head off. he has not been able to get leave for a month, and he may come this weekend.

Some tips from Jean re the card I put on the blog with the diamond shape:

the diamond one is one long card
There are lots of interesting card designs coming on the market, so watch this space there maybe more for you to have a go at....I especially like the stand cards, the easier way to make them is to attach a piece of concertina card( just a small piece ) to each side of a back and front piece of card stock, like a squeezy card....that's my tip for the day..

I have added a couple of Jean's cards to the blog.

I've just had a thought. If you could find a woollen garment in a charity shop
you could unravel it and wash it then re knit it again.

Seriously if you get stuck pm me and I will probably be able to help you

Von, the bags will be knitted and the teacher said we need pure wool. Thanks for the tip on making sure it isn't machine washable, I didn't realise it wouldn't work with that. Looks like I'll have to find me a woolly lamb and pair of scissors!! lol

Ann
Looks good. The workshops sound interesting as well.
I can see that maybe you will just have to make several visits just to check out what's new ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Ann.
That's good
Craft shops are so few and far between these days. I'm searching for threads and can't buy online as I'm trying to match colours.

Felt making is quite therapeutic and you can get some lovely effects.

Having said that I had a friend on my degree course who hated it because you use soap and water to blend the fibres and she said it was too much like washing up :-D :-D :-D
Take care

Just been in to Gloucester and a small new craft shop has opened. Not a lot of stock yet but it looks as though it will be good.

All sounds too complicated for me Von and Ann, but I am sure the end result will be great.

Von

Von Report 25 Jul 2012 23:24

AnnX
It depends how you are going to make your felt.

If you are knitting the bags then felting them you certainly will need pure wool and make sure its not machine washable cos that won't felt. :-( :-( :-( :-(

If you are not using this method you will need wool tops which can be obtained on internet or bought in Hobbycraft.

I should check with the teacher first what you actually need.
Good Luck and I hope you enjoy the course.
Take care
Von
