Glad to see that everyone is doing more crafting than me. Seem to have reached a total stalemate, either I don't have time to do anything or when I have the time have no inclination. Am off to a crop on sunday though and hopefully that will encourage me to do something.

I am loving the scrapbook trends magazine and have been buying it since the first issue. It's actually an american mag re-edited for the UK market and I like that they just give you the photos of the LOs and don't blind you with step by step guides to getting a certain look. I want the inspiration for my own pages not to create something that is indentical to someone elses. Can you tell I have issue with class kits LOL

Linda, difficult to keep it brief and make it interesting to grab a non believer's attention!!

Jean glad you got them OK, I think out of the three Hidcote is my favourite, although I have to add, that one is the left hand side of a double page spread.

Hello everyone..

You all seem very busy...

I am trying to write an introduction for my FH scrapbook...I seem to have a mental block at the moment...trying to make it interesting and not getting bogged down with too many dates lol. I only have a couple more pages of photos to do and then I can start my next FH scrapbook.

I am also busy knitting baby clothes for our new grandson to be...due in November. I haven't knitted for a good few years and was a bit dubious as my fingers are not as flexible as they were...I have problems when I am doing any fine paper cutting. However the lady at the wool shop advised me to use bamboo needles and I have found them to be wonderful and up to now I have had no problems.

Thanks NinjaLady...I will look out for the magazine at the weekend and I will have a look at the website.

I have printed out many of the layouts from ukscrappers...some really good ideas which I wouldn't have thought about.

Linda

Hi Ladies

For those interested in making mini scrapbook albums - Scrapbooking Trends (the American website - http://www.scrapbooktrendsmag.com/index.html) is allowing free access to their Mini Albums 2008 book. I've downloaded loads of pages of ideas for mini albums - there are some lovely ideas for layouts, journalling and embellishments which could be made into larger pages if you don't want to do small pages/albums.

No, no freebies with this one. Used to get the magazine For Keeps which was about the same price but that always had something nice as a giveaway.

I think this may be more expensive as there appears to be very little advertising and loads of pages ideas and layouts.

Used to use Trueprint many years ago and they weren't bad.

Will definitely look out for that magazine although it is a bit pricy, are there any give aways with it to jack the price up?

This is just the fourth issue of Scrapbook Trends so I'm definitely going to order the back issues!! October's issue is due out on 27th August.

I bought a Kodak printer back at Christmas thinking that the Kodak name would give a good finish on the photos but to be honest I'm not impressed with the quality of the prints - hence going to a photo shop. I've tried using it with proper Kodak photo paper but it doesn't make any difference. OH will go mad if I buy another printer so will see what the quality of the Truprint photos is like.

Not heard of that magazine Ninjalady, more money to spend.

I print my own photos, never use commercial printers these days. Have an Epson Stylus R200 which is excellent.

Quick question about printing photos - who do you use, or do you print them at home?

I usually use Jessops and get the photos in lustre finish which looks pretty good and the quality is excellent. However, just been down today to get some wallet sized photos to do my grandmother's box album and they've stopped doing the small prints!!! AAArgh!

So, I've just ordered the small 3x2 prints from Truprint/Snapfish and was just wondering if anyone had experience of ordering photo prints online and who they usually use.

I also made the mistake of going into The Works while I was down town and managed to find the embellishments discussed on this thread earlier. They've got some lovely packs of buttons in different shapes and also some ribbon packs with 5 different 1m lengths of ribbon. And each pack is only £1 - bargain!

Ooh, and I also picked up a copy of Scrapbook Trends in W H Smith - never seen this magazine before but very impressed. There are some lovely page ideas but it is a little expensive at £5.99. However, I like it so much I may very well take out a subscription!!

Hi, I have just started on the planning stage of photos from the golden wedding supper we went to last week. As you know I don't do arty minimilistic so have 7 photos, two larger than the others, Just at the moving them around to get the best look stage.

Yippee - have finally got some free scrapbooking time!! Went back to the race circuit this morning to take more photos of son no 3 driving a Porsche Cayman and Aston Martin V8 Vantage - so some nice masculine pages coming up there with lots of sports cars and blokey stuff.

Am about to start on small album of photos of my grandmother - I'm doing them on small 6x4 pages and popping them into a beautiful small box I found the other day rather than in a traditional album.

Also found a funky album for my grandson's pages - it has a rocket/space scene on the front and when you press a button lots of little lights start flashing. Very appealing to a small boy I should think.

What is everyone else up to?

Hi Everyone,
Ann, pleased that you had a good holiday. I hope you are having a good weekend with your daughter and son-in-law.

Managaged to get a couple of scrapbook pages done today. Then we had a trip to Hobbycraft to get a few things that I needed. So at least I've done some more pages--you never know, I might even finish it in time for November.

Speak to you soon.

Sallie.

Hi Jean

I don't know what's happened but the pages haven't appeared in my inbox yet!!

Baby grandson is desperately trying to grab nana's "tele" (my laptop) and is telling me he's almost ready for either a) his lunch or b) a sleep. Think it will be lunch followed by a sleep in the car while we drive up to Newbury to the craft shop!!!
