Ann - with your love of lots of photos on a page - check out page 120 of Scrapbook Trends - I just love that page and will probably adapt it for pictures of Finley, after I've converted them all to black and white of course.

I think my favourite part is choosing the photos and reliving all the memories that go with the photos. It gets harder after that for me and I spend ages finding just the right papers/ribbons, etc.

Picked up a funky heartshaped black chalkboard album today so I think I'm going to convert photos of hubby and myself to black and white and then use red and white papers/embellishments. Looking forward to doing this album.

Have a whole day to myself tomorrow as the men are off to the truck racking at Thruxton so some quality scrapbooking time tomorrow.

Thanks Ann just replied, I am like you I love every aspect of it, but the photos are my favourite bit, I need to get out and start snapping, I was hoping the holiday would have been the right place to get good ones, but we are quite close to the Yorkshire border so we can go out anytime...I have just dug out the Epson Photo Lab, I havent used it for quite a while and we think the ink has dried up... so need to get another one....

Jean, sent you a photo of the page I have just completed on Exmouth.

I was just wondering. Do you all have a favourite part of doing a scrap book page? Is it the planning, the photography, the sticking the main bits on or the finishing off or other?

I love the photography but for me the best bit is when it suddenly all comes together when you put a final flower, brad or ribbon etc on and can suddenly think..... yes, got it, I like that.

Bought scrapbook trends today, haven't read it yet but it looks useful. Also was in a warehouse clearance bookshop and got a scrap booking book for 99p. Then in the pound shop got two pages of star stickers (ready for Christmas cards) so feel i did well today.
Just working on my Exmouth page. Must really challenge myself to use fewer photos, this one has two about 6x4 and 8 small photos on it. However I wanted to use all the photos as it was a holiday page. One photo would not have done it.

Ann, if you go on google , crafts, then put in Ultra clear tape thats the one, my craft shop calls it magic tape, I have a very narrow one and a wider one, first saw it on Q.V.C. when I made cards...only thing is once stuck down you cannot move it... I feel sure you can get it from Hobbycraft , not sure about Range...Its ideal for the strips too, I dont use it full length just smaller bits..
P.S.you can do a strip then sprinkle glitter dust on it too, very effective...

Hi Jean, thanks. Magic tape? Not sure I have come across that, is it a double sided tape?

JustJean

JustJean Report 13 Aug 2009 22:12

Ann, I have used beads by threading them on nylon thread, and i have stuck the larger ones with magic tape that comes in various widths, also stitched them onto the page, just reminded me I have a load of beads somewhere, I will dig them out and have a go.....

I am going to put this on the card thread too, although not many people read it these days I don't think.

Does anyone do any scrapbooking using tiny beads? If so do you stick them on or use wire? And, if you stick them what medium do you use? Glue or tape? I had some as part of my birthday present and have never used them before.

I haven't tried the new photo programme yet, I have installed it but need time to get to grips with new programmes, it does look interesting though, although as usual a bit complicated.

I had a lovely gift from son and Dil, Her doing I'm sure, it was a set of dual ended brush markers (Whispers) And a Laura Ashley tin of embellishments - beads, letters, thread, ribbon, flowers etc all co-ordinating colours, I shall look forward to using that.

Jean Have you tried Shearings in Windermere? We haven't stayed there but Shearings usually have twin bedded rooms. Or are you looking at self catering?

JustJean

JustJean Report 13 Aug 2009 18:39

Ann, we got a phone call, just as I was making the cheque out, to say the one we wanted wasnt available, we need twin beds , so a double wont do, never mind we will get something I am sure, just needed J to get better before we booked anywere.we will try in September after the kids go back to school....

Jean, thank you very much for my birthday card, it is lovely, a real scrappers card!

I am having a lovely day. went Evesham Country park, had a short walk. Then had lunch in the garden centre, bought a few things in the shops then picked some blackberries and some plums which were growing wild in a track off the country park, wouldn't have picked them but they w ere rotting.. Came back to The range at Cheltenham and bought some craft stuff.
Thank you Daff too for the pressy

Love
Ann xx

What a brilliant idea, Linda!! Will remember that for future use.

I've just got some small (4"x2.5") laminating pouches to do tiny pages and then laminate them. I'll punch a hole through each page and then hold them together with a ribbon. Perfect for putting in my handbag (to show off my grandson) as the pages won't get damaged or scuffed.

I don't know if anyone has tried this...

I have looking around for some chipboard swirls to use as templates without success...I wanted to use this element I had seen on a page layout in Scrapbook Inspirations.

I have just scanned the picture layout into a file on my pc....cropped till I just had the swirl and printed it out in all different sizes. I am going to trace the outlines (using tracing paper) on to card so I can use them as templates. I hope this makes sense.

I am feeling quite pleased with my self LOLOL.

I do agree though Sarah, if we all follow the instructions we will be turning out identical pages.
