Thank you for the good wishes Linda, I found once I had started and provided I kept it simple, as I said like a decorated photo album, I couldn't leave it until it was finished. |

Seems along time since we chatted about our crafts, but do a fair amount of crafting according to other threads....lol....so here is a good place to share our hobbies... like Ann said the months leading up to christmas are usually the busiest, like most other folk cards are the favourite occupation, I am well into sorting a selection of christmas cards, as I am sure many others are so it would be nice to hear about them and perhaps swap photos and tips...look forward to hear from you all... |

A very basic album....using old childrens books, the ones with hard(thick) pages. Cover each page with gloss paint (takes a while and each page must be dry), thin fabric or coloured card. Then stick photo's and decorate. Doing one each for grandchildren, photo's from birth. Mines not very neat but you can be as posh as you like. Some of the card is abit thick so can't close book now, but that does'nt matter, the g/children are only 3yrs old:o)) |

Altered books Jude. Sounds like fun, only problem I think my Grandchildren are too old for board books. I hae to get going on second eldest grandson's scrap book as he will be 21 in December, then there are christmas cards and we have a lot of birthdays in October/November so birthday cards to make, then there is a long weekend away (Our Golden wedding gift from the family, then a week in Cyprus. There are not enough days left. |

I have not done any scrapping in ages though I did buy 4 mini chipboard books including papers and embelishments in T*e W**ks the other day...a bargain at 99p each. I am thinking of making them into albums of our grandchildren to give as extra little Christmas presents. I have never attempted to do this before so heaven knows how they will turn out lol. |

I'm pleased to see that this thread has kept going - not that I do scrapbooking, but I do make cards, which carries with it a very similar obsession with paper, card, and bits 'n' pieces! Keep up teh good work all! |

I posted a commnet on here a couple of days ago, and it's vanished! Anyway, well done all crafters on here. I'm actually a card maker, rahter than being into scrapbooks, but it still involves pretty papers and 'bits'. : ) |

Thanks for the welcome, Ann. I can see where scrapbooking and family trees are connected, though, and MAYBE one day I'll do something involving both, you never know. Trouble is, I have way too many hobbies already! |

I think we are all the same and this time of year it all catches up with me. But yes, I love the scrap book I did of my family tree. And it is surprising how the things you use on cards transfer easily to scrapping. |
