A bit different from my magic tooth fairy one then. With all my teeth problems this year it seemed very apt to be playing a board game and landing on wobbly tooth squares Lol!!!!

Just used my £10 Amazon gift certificate I had from my daughter for some digital scrap book/card making software, original price £29.99 down to £11.99, free delivery so cost me £1.99. Can't be bad!

I have had no craftie gifts this year...however ...woo hoo...my OH has bought me a new digi camera!

Our old digi one must have been one of the first ones on the market so you can tell how old it is. The screen is that small and with my eyes not being at their best now I had to use to the view finder (if that's what you call it)...not any more!!

As you say Ann I am looking forward to getting to grips with it lol.

I also have Christmas money burning a hole.. so weather permitting.. I am going over to Rosemary Merry's shop tomorrow...I have serious need of card and paper stock for our new grandson's first scrapbook!! Soooo many family photos which I have taken over the past month especially those of baby and his older brothers taken with their gt nana (my mum aged 88). I really cannot wait to get started again!!

Wishing you all my Very Best Wishes for the New Year.

Exciting times ahead with all that scrapping then Linda. I am looking forward to scrapping my Christmas photos but I am waiting until my new digital scrapping programme arrives.

Probably a silly question but what exactly is digi scrapping please Ann? Do you keep the pages on your pc and not in a scrapbook. Perhaps I am having another senior moment but there again I am somewhat computer illiterate although I have improved over the past few years lol.

I have seen photos and articles in the scrapbooking magazine that I buy but they seem to think I know what they are talking about lol!

I too would be interested to know what the software does,Ann,
Linda, how lucky to be near to Rosemarys shop, I remember watching her on QVC, and buying some of her stuff, we are very lucky in this area as we have many good craft shops, also there are market stalls that sell crafts now,
fatal for me when" I go just to look" always manage to buy more than I should , I was supposed to be cutting back on my craft stuff, not getting more!!! but how can you resist....have a great time with your new camera,

Digital scrapping, as far as I understand it, gives the opportunity to make your page on the PC if you want to. I don't want the programme for that, I want to try hybrid scrapping. That is to still do a page the normal way but the programme should give me backing papers and embellishments etc. I thought it was a good opportunity to try it as I had the voucher and would not be investing too much money in it. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has tried it. Maybe I will put up a separate thread asking anyone who knows about it to pop on here.

me Report 30 Dec 2009 09:05

Digital scrapbooking is the process of utilizing the latest in electronic technology to create scrapbook pages. Instead of using a traditional hard copy scrapbook and cutting out elements to paste into the book, digital scrapbooks allow users to create electronic books that are loaded with different colors, fonts, banners, and images such as photos and drawings. Digital scrapbooking makes it possible to share the scrapbook quickly and easily with one or more people, while still retaining control of the original copy.

Hi Ladies

I tried digital scrapbooking but didnt really get on with it. You dont necessary need to buy special software as you can do it in photoshop. There are other digital scrapbook software available on the internet for you to try. I found that it took up a lot of memory so was very slow and as such I had problems saving it to my computer.
Maybe with some software where you get a lot of embelishments and background papers you will do better than I did.

I have gone back to normal scrapbooking. Although as yet I am still very much a beginner with that.

Good luck Jane

well, littlie's Christmas scrapbook is all ready for her to take home.... we have gathered all the photos we loved... she has done most of the cutting and sticking (Jethro helped a bit as well, lol) and daddy and I helped with other stuff, like a guiding hand or four, lol.... all the craftwork she has done here has been carefully put in... and we now have a wonderful album of photos since birth, and her craftwork since she has been coming here for her access visits... it is a truly magnificent book, and mummy will love it... blinking heck, Granny would kill for it, lolol!!

Yesterday was the best though... trying to make soggy sand stick, as there was no way she was going to wait for the sand to dry out a bit, lol

For a 3 year old, it is a magnificent attempt.... and a lovely way to store all those precious works of art as they grow up... I have even scanned them, so that I can use them as background and embellishments for the album I am doing for her.... I have completed a lovely page, lol...... very quickly, and just so simply... but I love it!!

I am interested in that digital scrapping, Ann.... I will follow your progress closely... not at the moment though... suitcase to pack, sandwiches to make, and an entirehouse to sort out ready for the next wave of visitors, lol.... methinks this will be another fabulous scrapping page, lol

Love

Daff xxxx

It is lovely to hear all about what others do with their scrapping, I have 4 scrap books going at the moment, Holidays, weddings,Grandchildren, and family history one, I add to them all every now and then and have done a small one each for the grandchildren up to the present day, hopefully they will keep them to look back on.
Now christmas is over I shall be doing more as not so many cards to make now, just family birthdays.

Jane, thank you for your input re digital scrapping. The software I have sent for is said to be useful for card makers as well so it wont be wasted. I don't have photoshop, tried it and couldn't hack it! so will have to see what I make of this one.

Daff, the scrap book sounds wonderful!! I guess littly is going home today now is she? Or not? I am confused. Will check your thread.
