Ooh, where was that? I'm always on the lookout for quilty/scrappy shops when I'm out and about.

*blushes* I have been otherwise occupied, lol.... weather has been too nice to stay indoors, the garden needed sorting, son 1 coming home to roost and stuff like that.... I will get back to it...... it hasn't been put away, lol.... just ready to glue/stick..... if only I could find the right colour ribbon!

It's green... a sort of lime green... I have one, but it doesn't match the green in the paper, but it is wired, so does exactly what I want it to do... it looks ok, but I want it to look fab!!.... there is a deep olive, which would work, but it is very fine and won't do exactly what I want it to do... I'll go to Cardiff tomorrow.... HUGE new Hobbycraft just opened there, it would seem, lolol ;¬))

Hello everyone..

Sorry Ann ...I have not been around of late...up to our eyes in decorating and all my craft stash had to be moved so I have not been able to do any scrapping.

Jean...I was born and bred in Stockport but we moved down to south Cheshire 30 years ago some 15 miles from Chester. My mother (a lively 87 year old) still lives in Cheadle village so we go home every weekend.

Distant cousins (contacted on GR 2 years ago) of my husband are over from Canada at the moment and we met up last Saturday in the Tideswell area of Derbyshire to tread in the footsteps of their ancestors...we had a great day together. It was the well dressing at Tideswell Parish Church...that was a spectacular sight and so much hard work had gone into it.

We were very interested in 2 mid 1800 cotton mills in Litton Mill and Cressbrook...amazingly now renovated and turned into high class apartments....and how the slowly drifting streams managed to turn the huge wheels that worked the mills.

Anyway during our walk through Cressbrook village we came upon a small wrought iron gate (looking back I should have taken a photo of the gate lol) and curiosity getting the better of us we walked through (not private property I hasten to add) to find what I can only describe as a magical fairy pool...it took us all unawares it was so beautiful. Well Ann I thought of you...so out came my camera and took various photos which I am pretty pleased with. If any of you would like to see them I am only too happy to email them on. What I would like to know please is what paper would I use to print them on to use as backing papers...this a first for me.

Ok I am now going to have a closer read of what I have missed on your thread Ann.

Linda, when I have printed photos to use as backing papers for scrapbooking, rightly or wrongly I have used ordinary printing paper but made sure that the printer was set to plain paper, if it is set to photo paper it will be too heavy with ink and wont dry.
Sounds like you had a good time in Derbyshire, My Gt Gt grandfather worked in a cotton mill in Belper so I would have been interested.

Looking after the youngest 2 grandchildren soon for a weekend and taking a lot of craft stuff to do girlie things with Granddaughter (age 7). She loves crafty things so I am hoping she can make some cards and stuff. I have lots of spare bits and pieces that I can take for her to use. Grandson will probably take granddad to football!

Having had a good crop on sunday I spent yesterday trying to bring some order to my craft room. I decided that I would finally sort the remains of kits out and put all my cardstock in one place and papers in another and see just what embellishments I do own.

After sorting the card, putting some away and putting some aside to give away I was left with a massive pile on my desk. I measured it and there was over four inches high of card. I think I need to use some and not buy any more for a long time!
Thankfully I have less patterned papers unless you count the smaller size packs I've bought for cardmaking... LOL

Ooh I wouldn't like to pile all my stash on my desk Sarah, it would be higher than 4 inches I am sure!!

I have put this on the cardmaking thread as well. Can anyone tell me the difference between pyramage and decoupage please?

erm.... *whispers* my stash is already higher than that... please don't tell R, and should I stop now? lol

Nah, don't stop Daff, I sometimes think it is more a collectors hobby than a craft one Lol!!! I love getting new stash and drool over it when I get home.

Ann, the difference between Pyramage and Decoupage is that Pyramage has straight edges and is built upwards( think pyramids) so that the last piece is just a small section of the picture where as decoupage is cutting out the differents shapes of the picture and layering up that way.

edit to say. On youtube if you put in card making pyramage there are some videos to watch.

I've got the scrapping bug back!

I've completed four LOs in the last two days as well as a couple more during the week and I've got an idea that might work for my christmas cards. Anything to avoid finishing the mini book I started of our New Forest holiday last september LOL

Well done Sarah, haven't done any Lo's myself for a couple of weeks but have made 20 Christmas cards.

Hello Ann.....l have'nt had much time lately and when l do have time l tend to waste it by looking at craft stuff on ebay or create and craft. I'm away tomorrow until Monday and really hope to get back in the groove then!!
