Well I started to look through the thread from the beginning but couldn't find anything about the mouse mat. However there are sooo many pages. I got quite nostalgic, firstly because at the beginning there were several of us chatting about scrap booking and those people don't come on here now and I miss them. And then I found Daff and I miss her too so much. so I'll try again another time to find it. Meanwhile Pammy, try the card and let us know how you get on. :-)

Thanks again, I'll try it now and be back in a while (unless I get carried away) :-)

Well, I did get sidetracked (poor old OH has gout in his knee so needs running round after).
Tried one piece of card with ABB, no luck, got up to 6 pieces which were hard to roll through and embossed beautifully, cutting in a few places but didn't cut the letters out. I was scared to make the sandwich any thicker in case it broke my machine
I also tried it with a bit of an old mouse mat plus some card but it still didn't work.
I think I'll have to go back to the shop and see if they have any suggestions.

oooo The mouse-mat idea sounds a good one :-)

Wouldn't it be great if we could put photos in the threads

It would be good to be able to add photos but just imagine how many pages this thread would have!

Had another go today and I think I have cracked it.

I used ABB with 6 pieces of card (Backs off old Christmas cards) but I put 5 of the cards under the die this time. It did mean that the die cut into the surface of the B plate a bit but the letters were cut fairly cleanly.

I am now suffering from Cuttlebuggers elbow!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 7 Mar 2012 15:50

So was that from the bottom ABB?

So was that A 6sheets card B die B from the bottom up?

I am a bit confused with how you explained it Pammy.

susan yes photos would be good but I can imagine how slowly the site would move then, it can't cope as it is. That is why I have the craft blog which I can put photos on. Address by PM if you want it anyone. :-)

Pammy51 Report 7 Mar 2012 17:01

Sorry Ann,
I had A at the bottom, then B, 6 bits of card, the die with paper on top, then B, but thinking about it it might work even better as you described with the card in between the A and the first B plate.

I would love to have the blog website address so that I can see what others have been doing.

Yes, that would probably be better Pammy. I have just sent you the blog address.

I have just spent an hour with a new die I bought at the craft show, one by Marianne, lovely dies but there are so many little holes in them and the bits don't come out of the die so i have spent ages cleaning all the tiny bits of card and paper out of the die holes. I needed to put a card in for that one as well.

Hi Ann and Pammie, talking of dies Ann, I sent off for a what I thought was a smaller butterfly I have two of the large ones and it is the same as one I have...its one of Marianne,s so if you know anyone who would like it for a fiver .....lol......which one did you get? I do like dies and have quite a few, so now am looking for some more delicate ones, there are lots of new makers coming in the market. I also have two cuttlebugs....lol.... I had one bought me and had ordered one myself the one I bought is slightly bigger than the first one ,I do manage to double up on craft stuff....will I never learn....
btw Ann did you get my last lot of cards ,cant remember if I actually pressed the send button....Look forward to seeing some of your work Pammie.....
love Jean xx ps I use a darning needle to take out all the bits left after using a die....

Thanks for the blog address Ann.
I've been looking at all the lovely work (you're right, Jean has been really busy)
It's interesting to see elements I have used on my own cards used in an entirely different way, I can see a big crafting session on the horizon.

Will try to get a few pictures of my cards.

Some of the letters need a bit of cleaning out so I think a darning needle could be a good idea, Jean

AnninGlos Report 7 Mar 2012 21:23

Jean, that is a good idea re the darning needle. Do you also find the card/paper gets stuck right in the dies so has to be 'dug' out? Any tips for that. Fancy having 2 cuttlebugs, One is bad enough to find space for. At the craft show they had a huge amount of the Marianne dies. I bought a small doilly like circular one with a flower loose in the centre and another sort of arched frame one, haven't used that second one yet was too tired with having to pick up all the tiny bits of 'confetti Lol!!!

I did put your last lot of cards on the blog yesterday Jean.

JustJean Report 7 Mar 2012 22:16

Just had a look Ann, and they are not the latest ones I sent, seems you never got them, cant understand why not.....
another trick to get bits out some will fall out if you tap the die on the edge of the table... not all but some....and I always clear the bits out every time I use it even if I want to do more of the same....I have the motif with the centre flower I love it...btw the heading on the card mail
was "guess what ".....I will try again if you dont get them...
Pammie your cards are great I love the circular one thanks for sharing them...
love Jean xx

Jean - Just looked at your new cards, great idea with the snowflakes, were some of them yellow or did you colour them?

Ann - either Pam or Pammy is fine.

OK wasn't sure what you preferred, probably will continue with Pammy as I'm used to that on Greaders. Brain doesn't take too much to be confused. :-D
