lets start the list with quite a few fat quarters of retro designs, and some route 66 souvenirs.

My niece just had a baby girl last week, so I have a reason to start a new quilted play mat. Ive already got girly coloured scraps that I can use. so today will be deciding how to fit it all together.

Very hot here the last week, not feeling very energetic at all. 32C today already
GR just crashed for me so I hope this gets submitted !

Moonbi I think I would crash at 32c but right now it's in the minus here in the Midlands.

Rob and I usually do the shop on a Sunday morning. Went to Tesco this morning instead so should the worst of the weather due over the weekend actually hit us for the next few days, all the special diets I have to cater for are sorted and because Rob is out tomorrow (Derby County game still on). It was packed. Waited for ever in the queue. Have no idea if it's like that because everyone else had a similar idea about the weather or that is what Saturdays are like now. But as Rob said, we'll stick to Sundays.

We walked out of the store and got hit by an icy blast blowing across the car park. Can only guess at the wind-chill factor.

Happy and safe and warm Saturday to everyone.

You are very clever too Jean......I don't know where all your ideas come from. There truly is a niche in the market for nice men's cards isn't there? So many seem to involve a glass of beer or golf clubs!! :-S

What a lovely gift for your daughter Moonbi....so personal too.....another clever lady.

Ann, a few of us at class were talking about Craft Fairs, the cost of a stall etc yesterday. We are using inexpensive materials to practise on at the moment and some of the things we make in class aren't always our own personal taste so it would be good to try and sell those. We said it would be good to get experience by making more things to sell as well.

The teacher made us laugh......she said when she used to set her stall out at Craft Fairs and stand back and look, she would end up sneaking a few of her 'favourites' back in her bag to take home again!!!! :-D

Hi ladies, thanks for those lovely words. Yes, daughter had tears in her eyes when she found the page on her dresser.
I told her I am so proud of her. at last a fully qualified nurse practicianer.
Now to find that new job, and hopefully nearby. Qualified nurse pracs. get $80 per hour over here. so after 10 years of study I think she well deserves it. and I deserve something special too for my 8 years of childminding !!!

this week is the wedding on Friday, the one we made the stationary and the chocolates for. Daughter's dress has been altered, and all is ready.

I have to make a wedding card for that, and navy son has a birthday next week too. so making a card with a navy theme, and some biscuits and cake to send down to him. he is doing well, though still a little homesick.
best wishes from
Annette

Good luck to your daughter for her wedding and your son for his birthday. Don't forget photos of any cards and cakes for the blog if you have time. Looks as though you are going to be very busy.

I am sure that your daughter appreciates all those hours of child sitting, well I hope so. :-) :-)
