Morning All,
Jude I'll swallow my nerves about showing anyone what I create and take some pics when I've got new batteries in my camera. Aside from hubby and kids, I only ever used to show anything to my in-laws. I never showed anything to my family. They believed if you were showing something you were looking for praise and compliments and they didn't believe in either so would be rather unpleasant and you would be put in your place for thinking that you were any good.
I just set this new computer up last week. I have loads of cards and atc's on the old one. I will try and copy them over to this computer and see about posting some.

Thanks Ann. I will sort out some pics and let you know when Ann.
Thanks too Jude. Heavens. I hope that your male parent was nowhere near such a nasty piece of work as mine was. And he taught the female parent and the sibling to hate me as much as he did. Although the female parent had some very decent creative talents, all the male parent could create was misery.
I'm part way through doing the base coat on the walls of the house hubby inherited so that I can then put on the main colour. The house will be rented out for a few years until the market improves. I've never had bother working out colour schemes for my cards and other creations but this looking at colour charts and then doing testers is really stressful. I can't afford to mess up. :-D

Hi Jillian
What colours have you decided on for the main walls in your house. If you are going to rent out, have you chosen neutral colours?
Im glad you can share your craft outside of the family now. Its nice to show others what we have achieved.

Ohhhhh......lovely cards from Denise, Ann and Jean. Where do you get all your ideas from!
Lovely boxes and cards from Moonbi too.
Jillian, I would enjoy that programme, but we are with S*y and don't seem to have that channel, more's the pity. I'm looking forward to seeing your cards and it is nice to share achievements. :-D

Hi Moonbi,
Yup neutral colours. In the front (biggest) bedroom I have chosen Dulux Ivory Lace. It just suits the light so well. I fell in love with it when I tried the tester. Not quite sure about the other bedrooms or downstairs. Something very light for the bathroom. New suite will be white. It needs a touch of colour but I'm leaving it until I need to do it and then I'll decide what and how. I've tried a lot of other shades of white but have gone with Jasmine White for the landing, stairs and hall. I won't do much different for the other bedrooms. I hate Magnolia - sorry to upset anyone who loves it but I can't stand it. But I did do a tester in the front bedroom because I got told so many times Magnolia is neutral and cheap. And so it is but it just came over as mucky brown. I knew if I used it I would be so unhappy knowing I could have done better and I'd be ready for the funny farm if I painted the whole house in it.
I am trying to present somewhere that looks good enough to live in but without doing that 'making a statement'. The kitchen is small by today's standards and the bathroom is downstairs but it's not one of those where you have to go through the kitchen to get to it. That's the way the houses were in that area at the time they were built. But there are three really big bedrooms. As good an idea as it might have been to convert one of the bedrooms into a bathroom we would have been paying out to reduce the rental income or selling value (by about 10k). I've kept it as unpersonal as I can. The carpet will be neutral also. Anyone should be able to go in and bring in their own colour-scheme of furniture without any problem. I've watched enough Homes Under The Hammer to hopefully not fall into some of the traps that can get people when they put too much of their own personality into somewhere they will never live.
Annx if you can get onto JewelleryMaker.com you can watch the programme. It's fun and I've learned a lot about gems too. Al and I can now look at something and quite often have an idea of what it actually is. Dead impressive :-D
How do I go and look at the pics you are all talking about please?
xxJ

I looked up those dulux colours and they are so fun.
I have to redo my daughters bedroom, before I sell too. so Im looking for a nice white as it is a small room with one large window facing south.
I have recently painted my front fence Almond Ivory. which goes with the guttering, but I would never use that colour inside the house.

Thanks for the blog addy.
I tried about six testers. Don't go for Violet White. Nothing white about it at all. Nice but not neutral. The Jasmine White is only just not white. I painted around the window yesterday in Ivory Lace and enough around to get a good idea that I have made the right choice but then the light had gone to see it true. Going to pop in tomorrow so I can walk in in proper daylight and hope it jumps out at me in a nice way. I need to do a second coat on the ceiling before I do the walls but I just needed for my own peace of mind to see the colour I'd chosen.
I can't wait to get it all finished but there's a few weeks worth of work yet to get the house completed. Don't suppose any of you are near to Birmingham? I don't mind visitors whilst I'm painting :-D and I promise not to ask you to paint :-(
I've never thought of painting a fence Almond Ivory. Sounds wow.
Not sure if I will get the chance to be on here tomorrow but think of me and my paint brush on Monday please.xJ

Thanks for mention of that jewellery site Jillian. When I looked on there it showed the page no on S*y for it so I should be able to watch it on tv now! :-D
You are certainly busy with decorating. I am the decorator here and like the light and airy colours too. A bit pricey for doing the whole house at once, but I can recommend those heavy wear emulsions. You can get scuffs and marks off with stuff like C*f without leaving a shiny patch that shows after.

gosh this thread was busy while I was away. Jillian hope the painting went OK today. We have just painted our lounge and dining room (L shaped) and the main wall were done in a Crwon paint satin emulsion and I thinkt he colour is Fresh Linen, a very pale cream/white. One wall is Pasmina which is a sort of pinky brown very pale. Looks good.
