I hope you can soon feel more positive. xx

Thank you for my mention Mary.Sorry I don't mention people much but I do enjoy seeing what you are all up to,except for Mary who makes me feel that I don't move at all like some old elephant seal on a beach while she just doesn't stop accomplishing.
One hand is confined indoors for a couple of days as the builders are doing the base on the wet room and there is nowhere to put a ramp so we have had to provide extra washing for him to do in the new machine.I have told the builders that,if he gets bored, they can deal with him.

Oh dear,I have upset Deanna I believe,on the narcissism thread.Think I am further on in the victim healing process than some and forget how it feels to be on the lookout for a slight or putdown all the time and I would like to apologise publicly to her if I have upset her.I am sorry Deanna.

Hi all,
I'm having trouble with my chest. I told you I was having breating tests didn't I. Well I have phoned the Dr's this morning to see the Dr sooner than my next appointment. I have been waking in the night gasping for breath. Then this morning it was so bad I was really frightened. I was sweating and panicing. I went to the bathroom and spat up blood stained mucus. So seeing Dr at 2:20 this afternoon. I'm so tired all the time from waking in the night needing my inhaler. I'll let you know what Dr says xx

Wonderful to see you back Mary, I have missed your family. Hope the shingles are clearing. Usually when I have stitches in they fall out, not because the doctor did not do them properly but my body rejects them, so five days max and they are gone. Doc found this hard to understand, so the last time I kept the stitches so that he could see they were still tied and intact. OH had an infection after the allergic reaction, and it was very painful, so do not envy you. Hope it clears soon.

Group Hugs for everyone.

I understand why Carole has changed her name, but I do miss seeing Tinkerbell. If you really think about the name Carole she was the only sane thing about the lost boys and tried to keep them on track. Everyone around her did not want to grow up. So maybe this is more the reason you choose the name than any other. And yes, "I Believe".

Will miss Claire as well, do not leave it too long.

Colin, we do not get enough fish here. I do eat tuna often, fresh fish is usually when on holidays. So must think about the fish oil. Even with anti D's I still have bottomless pit days (or 2 or 3) at least I now know now that things will improve. Vitamin D is not a problem with me, doc did tests and said it is perfect as is OH. Even on cloudy days we are both outside for at least half and hour each day, with hats on. OH needs the sun for his Psoriasis, it also helped with healing his recent infection.

I also now hate long car trips, to get anywhere here it involves travel by car, usually involving many kilometres. We travel the length of Hadrian's Wall and back to grocery shop, every 4 to 6 weeks. Same to go to the movies.

Off to do some HW.

Love and hugs

Gail

Hi Mary, glad you are back on here now and hope the infection in your wound clears up soon and you can get the rest of the stitches out. Do take care with the painting and such that you don't over do things.

My doc said all this info and theory about vit d is new and more each day so it's a bit hit and miss but I don't mind trying it to see if it will help me.

Hope it won't be too long before the dogs come to stay but best get all the painting out the way first lol can get messy with pets around, I remember when I stopped to answer the phone years ago and put my paint tray and roller on a wooden chair nearby, my cat leapt up to have a look and next thing I knew there was paint all over the staircarpet as he had streaked downstairs in fright when the tray tipped over on to him! Ginger and white and lilac cat leaving lilac pawprints on a purple carpet! Didn't know where to start, had to shampoo the cat and then shut him in a room to dry off while I cleaned up the paint, luckily it was emulsion not gloss lol That cat was called Toby and he lived up to his name!

Colin, I did ask about vit d overdose and was told it wouldn't cause a problem, I had a very high dose in a jab and have now been put on tablets too. Sorry you aren't doing too well at the mo, and hope the higher dose of ADs is starting to take effect. I am still using the 5htp and hope I can stock up soon if they get reduced, otherwise I have to go without for a while.

I will look at that vit.d link later Mary. Big group hug for you, love.

Eileen, hope the journey isn't as stressful as you expect - maybe you have to make excuses to stop every so often to make sure daughter stays alert, and you can have a breather.

Claire, you take care and come back when you can, love.

Lizxx

Sydneybloke Report 10 Mar 2010 22:05

Hello Deanna, Eileen, Sharron, Gail, Caz, Carole, Ann, Mary and the Guys.
Maybe I should be working but it's a bit quiet at this time of morning in the office.
I had a bad weekend last weekend.:
I had Friday rostered off. Had to work Saturday evening-Sunday morning (8.30-2.30 plus travel). Apart from that didn't leave the apartment. Mainly sleeping, reading some TV. All in all not a good sign about my depression. I started on a higher dose of A-D about a week ago so hopefully they are kicking in about now. Certainly, I am feeling a lot more positive so hopefully I am over the worst. See how I go next weekend.
Eileen, I now understand your worry. It is the combination of factors. 1100 km! For me at best that is two days driving, even on good roads. The furthest I've been in recent years was about 650 km each way, going up on Sunday and coming back Wednesday. But at least it was on the "right" (left) side of the road.
It's interesting about Vitamin D. In our climate and latitude (34 South) it is recommended that we get 15 minutes sunlight each day. That should produce enough for most people. NOT in the middle of the day to avoid skin cancers. In England and Canada which are higher latitude it may be difficult to get enough sunlight, so I understand about supplements. But I also understand that in high doses Vitamin D can be toxic.
With our diet, many Australians do not get enough of whatever is in fish oil, so many people have been advised that they should take fish oil supplements. I tried it for a few months but it didn't seem to have much effect, but I try to get the recommended two meals of fish a week anyway.
Since I ma supposed to be working (I've had my early cuppa) I will get away now.
{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}} to all. Colin

Come back soon Claire, we will miss you.

Mary, lovely to see a long post from you and to read all your news.

Hope you will soon be fully fit.

Sorry to hear the dogs are put back again but pleased that the children seem to be making progress, bodes well for when you finally get the dogs. are they not trained enough yet?
Oh yes, OH used to have a lot of Americans visit when he was working and one thing that fazed them was a roundabout. We di come across one in America once, can't remember where but driver discipline was non existent. I always find it odd in the Canaries going round a roundabout the 'wrong' way.

Good morning. I'm back, somewhat together, but a few miles to go yet. Most importantly I have a keyboard with an 'a' LOL
Hand surgery is over, but unfortunately became infected as the stitches had to stay in too long due to Dr's office schedule. Then yesterday they called and postponed again. I managed to get 2 stitches out myself but couldn't get a good hold on the last 4 so have been this morning to my family doc to get them out. Now it's infected,he's got me on antibiotic by mouth and as a cream - I can see 2 pieces of stitch still inside but he cannot get them out, hopefully once the swelling goes down it may be easier..
My ankle is healing well, and old gimpy managed to walk to the school twice yesterday to collect the children.
The lounge has a new, very solid ceiling and so Sarah's room above is also much safer and she can jump away now, to her heart's content.
I think spring (as little as we get) may have arrived, Crocuses pushing up through the ground, lovely to see the tiny green shoots..
Gareth's medication is proving effective, he's much more verbal and trying to use complete sentences at times. Only occasional hitting now.
Sarah remains in her cheerful little world. The dogs were due to come next week but I think it may yet again be pushed back - to April.

Hazel I hope the news won't set you back too far, thinking of you and sending a hug.
Carole, where did Tink go?
Eileen,good to see you.
Liz thank you for your calls when I've been away, it helped a lot.
Deanna, are you ready for more books?

Gail may I join you on a walk in the rain, complete with Wellies?
Sharron I've missed 'two-wheels' antics.
Colin good to see you back too.
AnnG, Never thought about the 'driver being in the middle of the road'. IMHO if one can negotiate a roundabout, one can drive anywhere. Though I am familiar with them, it can be nerve-wracking when you haven't seen one for a few years.

My shingles is resolving, think the surgery 3 days after breaking my ankle was too much. And Liz I've been reading a lot of new info about Vitamin D, I was already taking a low dose but have increased it 4-fold, not sure if I feel any different after 3 days, but if there's any chance it will help, I am all for it. Apparently latest comments I read suggested it may have a positive effect on auto-immune diseases and autism also.

Emlyn turned 10 a couple of weeks ago and is in a frenzy wanting to"clean up our environment", which included going door-to-door with a petition asking people not to litter on our street!! She managed to get a dozen signatures, and has plastered the symbol for 'reduce, reuse, recycle' on every tree on the road, so as a result I have no coloured ink left in my printer!!

My son and his OH are having a rough patch, it is so tempting to stick one's nose in the thick of it but instead this time,I am waiting for my phone to ring, rather than making the calls. I hope with all my heart they can work it out, they seem such a good blend, with strengths in different areas, but deep connection. She is a lovely girl, who has had a rough early life, no parental support, except me now, an institutionalised mother with schizophrenia and a father who will never be 'dry' by choice. She has worked so hard to get where she is now if my 35 y/o son could grow up . . . .
I have a couple of hours before picking up the kids from school so am off to paint the window frames in the lounge, still can't decide on a main colour, want something subtle, yet bright
Nice to be back, group hug please.

Afternnon all,
I typed a long message on the Word program, but pressed a wrong key or something, message went-where I wonder?
Ann & Liz, I am not at all nervous about the coming trip, just plain worried.Would never dream of mentioning this to daughter, don't want her think I don't have faith in her.It is because she has no notion about car maintenance, i.e never changed a wheel, (Idon't have the strength in hands to do this now)seen about the oil, if the tyres are correctly pumped up,etc.etc.and, no experience of driving in France...
Deanna, thanks for asking, I'm o.k. Your day sounds delightful, fun too.Dare I mention the great 'feel-good' movie Mama Mia ????It left me feeling on top of the world, so imagine the one you saw did the same for you.
Have to go now, will pop back later if poss.
Have a lovely, peaceful day everyone.
