You do have to be careful of filming don't you.Do you remember when the ship AthenaB went aground on Brighton beach, many years ago?
Well,I was a van driver and I had no deliveries within a good ten miles of it but,of course,I went down there for a quick butchers,as you do.So did Southern TV.The only time I have ever been on television!

Carole, I have only just seen this. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's friend, how very tragic, and her poor husband and baby. Life is cruel sometimes.

YCaz, sorry to hear you are not feeling too good. Just seen our house on google street, although it comes up as the wrong number, they only seem to have even numbers. As it happens they filmed while we were away, neighbours have a skip on their drive and their car is on ours (by agreement luckily) and the wheelie bins and recycling boxes are out, the street looks really scruffy.

Eileen we go to Andalucia the same day you go away.

Sharron, keep him working, idle hand(s) and all that.
Lorraine, glad you are not feeling so numb, still thinking of you.

Mary, no painting with the help of the 2 children is definitely not recommended.

No I don't think so.You would have noticed if my bum had been on there.
They take their time don't they, but that bit of airbrushing will take some time.

Yes it is Eileen, what makes it worse is that dreams are normally forgotten as soon as I wake up, but sometimes I know they are dreams when I wake up, and can go over and over them for days, every detail. Sometimes I have dreamt was was true, when I was eleven I dreamt my great grandma had fallen upstairs and broke her arm. Mum said don't worry she never goes upstairs, I was so worried though she went to see grandma who was sat there with a pot on her arm and a sling. She had decided to go upstairs to look for something instead of waiting for my auntie, her daughter, to come home, slipped on the highly polished lino and brole her arm. It's happened a few times that I have done that so maybe it is something to do with when I was younger still hanging on.

Sharron, I keep meaning to ask you, are you on google street maps yet? Do you remember when we both saw the camera car about the same time and you said you were bent over a wall or something. Ours street is not on yet., I still hope they haven't got me with my head hanging out of the window. oer.

Lol! Good luck with writing about experiences in "the white house", as you out it..What a good idea to write a book about humorous (medical) events. My ex. always said I should write my dreams down...never did and won't,many are too scary to relive, most just plain wierd.
Caz,isn't it a strange feeling when you are not sure if you have dreamt something or that it is real? Am still puzzled about that GR 'glitch'-IF it was one, that is.Btw.We are supposed to leave on the 27th. of this month.Hmmm!

Have a good weekend, may the sun shine down on you all.

Hello to all, oh dear, I haven't been on for a few days then read all the upsetting posts. Carole, I am so sorry to read about your daughters friend, my thoughts are with you all. You seem to be having a bad time recently, hope the antibiotics and steroids work. I know it's easy to say but you have so much on your plate at the moment, but you need to take it slower and rest more love, or you will wear yourself out. I am holding you in my thoughts (((((hugs))))))).
Puss as well, nice to see you back with us, I am sorry about your step dad and wishing him the best treatment.
And our Mary with shingles, well, are you going for the record of having the most bad luck anyone can have? I hope it goes soon, shingles is not very nice, my mum had it.
Eileen I have that problem with dreams, sometimes I don't know if something is real or I have dreamt it. Mine are not scary though. You will have gone by now but I hope your trip turns out ok.
Sorry but I have forgotten already what else I read, and if I go back to look I lose my post.
I'm not too good at moment so not putting computer on much but when I do I always read this thread although don't post much.

Love and hugs to all.

Just to say I am thinking of you all and wish you comfort and luck.
One hand has had a new catheter, lucky boy eh,which seems to have stopped his problem.Meanwhile we have a duvet to wash.
At least it is fine so he can get his deliveries done if we can get him out over the wet room footings.I am told it will be lovely when it is done but I don't know if I believe that or not.

It's been an awful day today. I was just getting dressed after my shower this morning, when I heard my daughter call Mum twice on the landing. She had had very minor surgery yesterday so I thought imediatly something was wrong. I opened the door to see her curled up sobbing on the floor. I thought she was bleeding or something. But it was far worse. She had two missed calls then a message on her mobile. She called her friend to be given the news a very close friend had died this morning, in a car crash, only 27yrs old. Seems she went off the road and was spotted in a ditch. Dead at the sceen. S was on her way to work. A 5am start. She leaves a baby boy (18mths) and a husband of just three years. There is a little group of eight, and just Wed they were all out to celebrate a birthday. And just a few weeks ago they all went on a weekend trip to Holland. Please hold S and her family in your thoughts.

Mary,I am sharing the Mango Chutney recipe myself. It belongs to Delia Smith and is on her website. It comes out very dark and she recommends keeping it for eight weeks before you open it but, from experience,at least six months is better.
Don't you go wearing yourself into the ground again making it either or I will tell her to take it off the website. So there!
It seems we may have some positive moves involving the narcissism thread. Can't tell you much yet but could do some good.Fingers and things crossed.

Good morning all.
Lorraine sending you positive thoughts for some calm to enter your life, it's so difficult when all seems to be falling apart around you.I know it's been suggested once or mtwice that I should write about "life in the white house", well I have been making some lengthy notes while I've been away, but last week came a request from a distant connection , asking for tales of humour from my nursing days. They are compiling a book of medically-related humour as a therapeutic way for a young woman to work through her year-long hospitalization and resultant weakness and partial paralysis. She had found it in herself to see the humour in some of her hospital experiences and now wants to write a book.
I have completed one short account, not sure if others will find it amusing, but in retrospect i "get the giggles" each time I remember the incident. Have 2 more planned.
Should be another busy weekend, and next week the kids have "March break for a week, so they will be home, which is NOT a good time to paint LOL. Until we complete painting the lounge we can't put the furniture back. What I wouldn't give for a neat and tidy area for an hour.
Sharron I love the sound of mango chutney, would you be willing to share the recipe?
Megan is paging me to help solve a laundry issue upstairs. She distinguished her self this morning by doing a full load of . .. . . . . . water!!
Hugs, and Eilleen perhaps you should be writing a book too - about dreams, the weird and the wonderful.

Hi all,

Have to also admit to being confused by your new board name Carole...Only realised who you were when Liz mentioned it.Lol Same happened with Lily...
Hope you are all feeling much happier/better in your minds and bodies.Talking of minds, am I going nuts or what. Was there a glitch on GR yesterday, or maybe this morning...can't remember, which shows how scrambled my mind is lately.I seem to recall that all old posts re-appeared on every site, or, did I dream this? I have very life-like deams, every, single night, mostly really bad ones, nightmares, if I dare admit to this, (have had them since childhood) but this time it was wierd. Haven't seen anyone else ask about this...so it must be just one of my wierd, but not frightening dreams.
Must stop now, it beginning to jump. Will really have to type messages in the Word program and add them here.

If I don't get back before the weekend, I sincerely hope you all have a really good one.

Oh no Liz.I don't have a gang of big lads with muscles and six packs and oooooooh just drifted off a bit there.Just a bloke and his brother who have promised he will be able to get out tomorrow when I have a delivery run planned for him.A woman up the road wants a jar of my mango chutney.
I am tea-lady full trime at the moment.
You won't want detail but I have to keep him fairly occupied as he has catheter problems at the moment,Tena Lady man no less so I think the more distracted he is the better.

Must go and strip the bed for him to wash.I chucked some more washing down just now and it landed in the cat's dirt box.He has to have one as he now has no way in and out at night, and, unfortunately,he doesn't like to waste it!Poo!

Carole, I must have missed you posting to explain new name, hence my confusion!

I wonder if the 'bloodstained mucus' was actually from grinding your teeth in the night, through stress. I do it and sometimes there is blood in my mouth with saliva because my gums are going and my constant grinding causes further problems and bleeding. I did have a mouth guard made up by the dentist, had one some years ago too, but I just can't sleep with it in, so uncomfy. I think one day I will wake up having swallowed a tooth or something as they are hanging in by a thread, or that's the way it feels to me.

Hope you will feel better soon, I wonder if your breathing problems are exacerbated by stress and tension too, so making things harder to cope with at night when you need to be relaxed.
Hope you get some sleep tonight and feel a bit better soon

Lorraine, I am sorry, you have got a lot to cope with at the mo, sending you positive thoughts and strength to support those you need to support and also to deal with your own close medical problems. Treat yourself kindly and try not to take on too much else....

Sharron, hope things don't get too difficult with the builders there, maybe if your Dad can think he is keeping an eye on them as well as being laundryman he will have enough to occupy him. Are they big lads doing the work, could they lift your Dad and his chariot out so he can leave the premises for a little while lol, they might be tempted to try if he gets too bossy lol

take care all
Lizxx

Lorraine sorry to hear your family have been struck by your step dads poor health. It's so hard not being able to help someone we love to get better and not to be able to confirm to them truthfully they will be better.

I saw the Dr this afternoon and come home and slept again. Dr put me on antibiotics and steroids. Haven't been too bad since I woke up but frightened to go to lie in bed and will sleep sat up again tonight as I did earlier.

Hugs to you all xx
PS I changed my name, as I felt Tinkerbell did give a wrong impression of me now I feel better re the depression.
