Yesterday was Hayleys friends funeral. I went with Hayley as I knew she would be upset, and maybe like me there. I ended up trying to comfort Hayley by my left side, her friend on her left and her other friend infront of me. All the time wiping my own tears away. It was so sad to see her young husband trying to pay his tribute speaking in church. All their young friends, the church was full. The burial was in the church yard just over the road. Everyone followed to be with Sara till the end. We were all invited back to the village pub for refreshments. Sara's husband came to sit with his friends at our table. Anthony had ran the local 10k run Sunday and had sponsors he was able to give Mark £600 to help him over the next couple of weeks, Mark cried. We all did! They all took Mark out last night. Mark has been staying with Sarhs brother and his partner.

My tablet into cat method, which worked for my Tommy, the lairiest cat in the World,is this. I sit on the bed or sofa with the cat on my left,it doesn't work the other side. I kind of hold him to my hip with my forearm and cup my hand under his chin to open his mouth with my finger and thumb. Then, with his head looking up,trying to get away from my hand,I pop the pill in the back of his throat, let go his mouth and stroke his throat a bit.
It's nothing like the trauma of wrapping in towels and wrestling.

Hi Eileen,
We have central heating, double glazing, warm clothing, good healthy food.... the lot!!
I am just COLD Eileen. ;-0(
I have circulation problems, and apart fro that.... I can get cold in the summer! Unless it is a VERY hot day.
We don't have heating in the little room where my pooter is though. It is just a 'cubby' which used to be a coal hold in the old days.
I have the hoover etc, all the boxes with things we need or want to keep... photos and the like, and the filing cabinet....
There is a radiator at about two yards from me in the hall, one in the bathroom a yard behind me and one in the kitchen which I can see from here..... I am just a *troublesome wife* Eileen.
Every one hopes they will go to Heaven.... I'm not too sure about that, it may be cold there.... ;-0)

Anyway, I only came on to say hello all, and to get back to my work. It takes me long enough when I stick to it, it will take me all all day at this rate. ha ha ha
have a lovely day my friends and I will be back.

Hi to our Sydney Bloke, your comment on being suicidal really hit home with me. Made me want to laugh and cry at the same time. To be that way and feel if only I had the energy. I am also glad now that I was too tired. It is also great to be able to share what you have felt at times, when so low, loads of people probably have felt the same at times, but too scared to verbalise it as it makes it real.

Have had a couple of days of the tearys, no reason that I can work out. Have had to take extra pain pills, so do not know if it is that or the extra pain.

Sharron, never shop when hungry. I usually have muesli bars in the car for OH, if he is hungry, watch out, usually low blood sugar is the cause. BIL and SIL, had a whopper in the car park at a large shopping centre before Christmas. I was apparently spectacular. At least you probably entertained everyone.

Every tried to get tablets down the throat of a Very Large cat. OH does the sitting on and holding the head, while I try and open the mouth and throw a pill down then hold the mouth and head up and try to get him to swallow. We have one of those pill popper things, they just do not work. Our ginger cat, you only need to hold a pill in your hand and she will eat if off the hand. Wish they were all like that. Our dog will also take pills this way. Boyo does not like the special food he now has to eat, so will have to do some trial and error and some research as to what else he can eat.

For Caz, the six hens and the rooster I kept this year are doing really well, they are all very tame and as soon as the gate is open they are all around me and will follow me around the yard. They are all just so pretty.

Off for a bath

Love and hugs

Hello all, I have been having trouble;e adding posts to the board. On the Aussie GR site I hit "reply" and nothing happens. I logged on to the UK site and all seems well.
Hazel, nice to see you and may I add gentle hugs, too.
Liz,
i think some people are argumentive some of the time, when under stress or feeling threatened. I can't understand why a big strong man would feel threatened though.

Eileen, I sent a PM as I couldn't add to the thread as above. I think you said it well about your brother and stikk hearing his voice. Sometimes I hear my mother"s (d 1975). Also a terrible tragedy about your daughter's friend. You are right- you never know. In the blackest depths of my own depression I felt suicidal, but fortunately was too lethargic to do anything.

I have never been to Brittany but about 15 years ago my then new girlfriend did. She saw an article in the travel section, and a couple of months later was off for 3 months holiday. Six weeks in Canada, then to Paris, Brittany and Normandy, Holland, Germany and Denmark then down to Prague before going back to Frankfurt to fly home. All her European travel was Eurail.
I have been to Paris briefly and Amsterdam briefly, but want to go back after I retire from work. That could be next year.

Hi Ben, nice to see you are still travelling and following in your ancestor's footsteps. You must have been to lots of places now.

Eileen, glad the trip was bearable.
I am so sorry about your poor sister in law but she has had a difficult time so is free from pain at last. It's nice that you can accompany your ex to her funeral and say your last goodbyes, I hope you can fit everything in before your trip and that you don't have any more bombshells. Do take care of yourself too - I bet you can't wait to just have time to sit and relax.
How awful for the poor wife of the colleague of your daughter, he must have been in a state to do such a thing, but anyone, a child even, might have found him and that's something that would never leave them. Such a tragic waste of life, I have had it happen with friends of mine. If only they would talk to someone and try and sort things out instead of feeling driven to such deeds.

Sharron, glad I am not the only one, we almost always end up arguing in supermarkets and he goes stomping off, he does it everywhere. In Llanelli once he got in a strop and stormed off, luckily I always carry a car key too and I got to the car first, he was still stomping round looking for it lol He has been known to drive off and leave me fuming, and even walked away from the checkout as we were about to pay lll - good job I had my card with me, I would have been so embarrassed to have to walk off without the shopping.

Hi all

Had a trip to Southend on Sea. Many of my relatives lived and live there.

I shall not be buying any more genealogy magazines that contain allegedly packed genealogical info and resources but most of them are rubbish. The resources the say they have transcribed only contain a few names and very basic info.

Morning all,

Lovely day today, 20 degrees down out way!
Deanna, why were you so cold this winter when you have central heating? Do you have double glazed windows?
Yes, the sad news about daughter’s collegue has hit home with all the collegues who worked with him. When hid wife found his farewell letter, she rushed to the burgermaster (they are head of the police over here)with it, he phoned the police, then went with her to the wooded area to try find him.Lucky the police found him, not them.I didn’t know the man, but such an
Awful deed makes you stop and think.
Liz. The journey to Amsterdam went o.k for a change, even though the jouney there was very tiring.Going there, we were packed like sardines in the train, stood for a good part of the long journey.
My ex. Phoned very early this morning to tell me that one of his sister’s has died.He asked me to go to the funeral with him, and was upset when I reminded him that I was going to France.Phoned my daughter to tell her, she said straightaway we would leave some days later, so phoned my ex. Back to say I will go with him.He is much relieved. This s.i.l was my faourite after Dieneke, who is more a sister than s.i.l. Am feeling sad, she was such a lovely woman, very brave .She was diagnosed with bowel cancer 16 years ago, the ops. were partly successful, was always in poor health after this, so couldn’t live a normal life.
If the funeral is on monday, we will leave for France the day after probably.Life goes on….but, I am waiting for the ‘other shoe to fall”, as it were…

Be safe and happy, all of you. Hugs to those who need them.

Thank you Hazel, consider yourself hugged too, and anyone else who needs one.

Eileen that is such sad news. The family must be in such a state of shock and pain. Bless them all.

I have not been on much.... what do you mean no body noticed????????
It is getting warmer and I am able to come on and have wee chats sometimes. I cannot believe the cold I have suffered this winter.
I live in a centrally heated house FGS... and I've been Freezing.
I just wonder how many homeless people died this winter.
Homeless people in our very rich country.... it is disgraceful isn't it?

Ah well I am off again for a while.
I have not looked at my mail yet.
AND.. I have promised myself to work very hard today finding my G.G.Granddad's death. He has been elusive for over 2 years ... at least.

it is a lovely day here, I hope it is nice where you all are.
Have a nice peaceful day.

Eileen, if you look in this morning hope the travelling is better than you expect and you enjoy the celebrations.

I was so tired yesterday after the Sunday palaver, and a neighbour had workmen at his house all morning banging about and loading something onto a truck every so often, he is a young man in his thirties, a train driver, who would love to settle down but can't seem to find a girlfriend, he had one briefly before Christmas but she dumped him, he spends a fortune on his little house, as if he is bored and doesn't know what else to spend his money on, he has a car and a motorbike and goes on nice holidays but on his own. Sadly he is a little boring and very fussy with his house, so maybe that's why no lovelife bless him.
The noise woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep so I knew I wouldn't be much good at the counselling session and wouldn't feel safe to drive myself there when o.h. got home with the car. I decided best to cancel so I rang at midday to give the woman some notice, will make sure I get there next week tho as I will miss a session at Easter too. I went back to bed and dozed on and off till late afternoon, which was better than pushing myself to go out and having an accident in the car.

Joyce, thanks love, I couldn't call anyone as he was downstairs and would have listened to the call anyway, but nice of you to offer support. He has been fairly pleasant since he got home, but it cuts no ice with me lol

His son phoned up and seems the wedding is still not arranged fully, they changed their minds about the venue as they wouldn't offer reduced rates for accommodation for guests, so he has reserved some rooms at a Travel lodge in the area for guests and they still have to fix a venue! The wedding is scheduled for August Bank Hol. Saturday so it doesn't leave that much time to find somewhere, not sure if they want to marry at the venue or just have the reception there, o.h. is very vague as he can't remember what's told him half an hour after lol
It all seems a bit odd the way they are arranging things, all in a splutter after the sudden proposal in late January, pretty sure she isn't pregnant altho I know she is worried about being too old to start producing babies, she is only 31 tho!
All I know is the confusion is causing us problems with holiday bookings, what with the command that a parents get together is arranged in June, the week before Father's Day. Would have been more sense to arrange it that Saturday so they saw the Dads the day before, not a week before!

Good afternoon everyone,

Is it so mild over here in the UK as it is here? Not exactly warm, but dry and fairly sunny.

Lily, it is an extremely difficult and very sad time for you and your family. Am so sorry to hear about your cousin Francis dying at only 50 yrs. Old…and then his son shooting himself after Christmas…poor kid, he must have felt desperate to take his own life at 26….your family have had so much to contend with lately. Bless you all.
Mary, the death of loved one can hit you at any given time, even many years later.I have first-hand experience of this, so can understand completely how you feel. My only brother died december 1979, I can still ‘hear’ his voice, remember how he always called me ‘darling’, something my only remaining uncle, my aunty Margaret’s brother, (she died feb.2006) always calls me when I phone him…..you have so much already to contend with, and now the prob. with little Sarah…..I honestly don’t know how you manage to cope, and still do so much other things….
Gail, I didn’t realise Boyo was still at the vet, am pleased for you that he is home. Did you know that the Irish call someone who is a bit of a ‘Jack the lad’, a Boyo?
Colin, I still feel rather guilty for needing my crutch, Amitripyline…..I don’t mention this to anyone over here…they all expect me to bear up and be strong as I used to be….What a disgrace that you have to pay for your meds.!!!!!!!!!
Am off to Amsterdam tomorrow for the birthday of my youngest’s daugher Anna, who was born Easter day 2 years ago. Have to leave around 8 am…then must be ready to leave at the crack of dawn coming friday…something I am NOT looking forward to…I have driven on the left (wrong side for us) very often, but am used to driving on the right, as we do here in Holland, so, taking the wheel on the way to Brittany shouldn’t be a prob.It just rather worries me that this daughter has no experience with driving in bad weather or dangerous circumstances…have had soooo many weird and wonderful things happen over the years. I will probably delete some of my posts before going away, ‘just in case’, I would not like any of my kids to read what I say here…..

Daugher phoned with v.sad news saturday morning….so awful when someone takes their own life…….am waiting to hear how it was at her work today, as it was one of her two direct bosses…..his family must be gutted. Shows that you never know what goes on in someone’s mind…..

Take care and be safe. Eileen

Ann, you could be right with the lights, we had neons in the kitchen, they only needed to have a slight flicker for me to start to get nauseous, OH never even noticed. Had to eventually get rid of the neon lights and replace them with spot lights. Now with the horrid new bulbs we have to buy for other parts of the house I cannot stay long in the rooms when the lights are on.

I drive OH nuts with changing bulbs. I do not have seizures, just get nauseous, and a slight headache.

I do not quite have my shadow back, though he has been all over the yard marking his territory, then was exhausted and had a sleep on the back lounge with the dog. He has now moved onto the bed and sleeping. Would say it will take time to fully recover. On a special diet for the rest of his life and pills for the next 3 weeks. He did not help me feed the chickens today but the rest of the gang did for the first time in a week.

Hi Mary, yes Spring has sprung altho it is next weekend we spring the clocks forward and lost an hour's sleep lol

I am glad you all had a nice outing but a shame poor Sarah had a seizure, over it now tho so that's good. Bet you are glad school starts again lol
If anyone was going to put on weight I thought it would be Sarah with all her foodie experiments lol, poor Gareth, I hope things can be sorted out.
I was reading the other day that fructose is a major problem for causing weight gain so I am planning to look out for it and avoid it where possible, what with that and aspartame, it takes an age to shop! I still have this tyre wedged around my middle and apple shaped people aren't healthy folk, I have turned into my mother!

Good thing you didn't cause yourself more pain when you fell over Rosie, that's the reason I only like dogs like labradors and larger - they are easier to see and don't get under your feet so much. Are you still wearing your boot? When you go and get those stitches out, ask about the Bio oil or equivalent and see if it will help the scar tissue as you continue to heal.
Are you pleased you had the op, has it helped enough to warrant the inconvenience and pain? I hope so.

Gail, glad Boyo has lots more lives left , just tell him to take things easy lol

Thanks for the hugs, love, very welcome. I think that was the worst part yesterday, I didn't want to phone my son as he doesn't need the worry and I couldn't call anyone to off load, which would have helped so much. There is no talking to o.h. when he is in that mood, I know my hoarding upsets him but the way he is to me doesn't help at all - chicken and egg sort of situation and just seems to make me worse. I was no where near as bad as I am now, and had much less stuff then I met him and things escalated... oh to turn back the clock 13 years!
Anyway onwards and upwards,
love and hugs to anyone who needs them today,

Lizxx
