Hi again Dutch, was not sure about the laws in the Netherlands concerning mail, I do know that in OZ it is against the law. Sometimes mail can be opened inadvertently, as you do expect mail delivered to your address to be your mail and not other peoples.

Chin up, hopefully you now have it sorted.

Colder weather is getting to me a bit, usually about 3.30 to 4 pm it starts getting cold, so make sure all the animals are fed and comfy and light the fire and stay inside after 4 pm. Pumpkin count is now up to 58, after OH did a clean up of the vines. Am I orange yet? ;) We are having baked pumpkin tonight.

Have noticed the boards are very quite lately. When I first found the boards they used to move very quickly and now the are just stagnant most of the time. So has the change of ownership changed GR or is it just me wondering.

To Dutch, we try and lead them along the right highway before they leave us. Unfortunately, there are many off roads along the way. The path they choose is their own, not yours, it is not a matter where you went wrong, but where they went wrong. You cannot take on the responsibility of the actions of a 52 year old. Have had the same problems with speeding fines and other things as well, just return to sender that they do not live at this address. Hope you improve once you get the new shoes.

Would also be careful opening somebodies else's mail as it too could put you in a not very good position.

My pumpkin soup is not heavily spiced, getting too old for heavy spices, loved them when I was younger but they keep me up half the night now with heart burn.

I also hated pumpkin with a passion when young, now I love it. I learnt to try different things with my children to get them to eat their vegs and the pumpkin bake always worked well to get them to eat it. Carrots with a little honey and a sprinkle of sesame seeds also worked well.

OH found yet another pumpkin this morning, so the tally is now 57. Some are not ripe, about 5, so if they do not ripen then the chickens get them. Chickens also love pumpkin seeds, although I cannot give the seeds to the bantams only the larger chickens. I have 7 tiny bantams that follow us everywhere and if we are inside they hang out at the back door, they are just so much fun and full of personality. So now have, 7 chickens, one dog and 4 cats following us around when out side. I laughed so much yesterday as they were following OH around and getting under his feet, he could not move with them all around him.

Thinking of Caz and gentle hugs.

We have a yellowish sofa. Doesn't seem to help at times.
As a kid I was never a fan of boiled pumpkin so mum used to mash it in with the potatoes. Yuk. I didn't mind roast/baked pumpkin, and now rather like pumpkin soup as long as it is not too spicy, and of course pumpkin scones. Gail, your recipe sounds nice, maybe we should try it.
Hello Deanna, and Joyce- it sounds like your son has committed a crime. It would be a crime here to give a false address. Maybe you should go to the police. Sounds drastic, but it may the only way to wake him up.

So pumpkin recipes out and browsing through. Also need loads of imagination as we picked 56 pumpkins.

One really nice recipe I will share is a sort of pumpkin bake. Peel and cook pumpkin as you normally would, when cooked, drain then mash with a little butter, olive oil or margarine. Place in a small baking dish or glass baking dish, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon then place under the grill until brown sugar is bubbling. Can serve with anything you like with main meal. Pumpkin needs to be 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick in the baking dish.

Love pumpkin and bacon soup, and freezes well so will cook loads of that. Pumpkin scones, pumpkin pie and loads more on the agenda. OH has to peel them for me so he will be sick of it all after a week or so. Will be eating them till next spring.

Hi Gail, maybe we should have a different colour to sit on/in and it might get rid of our 'blues' lol

It's supposed to be getting warmer here in the UK by mid week, icecream weather they call it, as compared to the barbeque summer we were supposed to get last year and didn't!

Deanna, you and I must come from the same mould lol and Gail too, with the stuff we watch and read.

I also have a blue sofa/lounge suit with 2 recliner chairs. So do we form the blue brigade? That is funny.

Luckily my OH watches the same rubbish I do, plus as he is on afternoon shift I get the remote control to myself 5 nights a week. He gets the remote at the weekend and luckily as we both like rubbish, no arguments. OH does not read books, he does ask what I am reading form time to time.

It is freezing here as well and we have had frosts all week, so the pumpkins are getting picked this weekend. We have 6 of them hanging from a tree and looks very odd. Will let you know how many we get. I will look orange by the end of the winter.

Thinking of everyone and big ~~~~~~~~~~ to you lot.

You have a blue sofa?
You didn't tell me?
I am also accused of reading rubbish.
I actually read anything which catches my imagination.
And I have read some wonderful books.
Just came on to say hello, and to let you know that I am FREEZING.... just in case you were wondering.;-0)
I'll be back later.
Love and hugs to all

Hi Ben, you certainly get around, good for you, it must be so interesting to see all these places with connections to your family.

Deanna, I too get accused of watching rubbish or recording it while I watch a different bit of rubbish but it's amazing how often if the dope starts to watch a recording or programme of my choice, he becomes enthralled and says Oh yes, it was good after all!

Watching rubbish is so relaxing ..... even if I only sit on a blue sofa and not in a blue recliner lol

Ben, next time you are out and about I am going to get you to search for me.
Well... not for me, I know where I am, I think. ;-0) but for my elusive G.G.Grandad....

Joyce, I FORBID you to get upset over this problem... it is NOT YOURS.
Chin up love and forget it, you have enough problems of your own.

I am off to get dressed for bed and get ready for tea.
Then my evening will be spent watching my favourite programmes on TV.
My son says I only watch RUBBISH....am I supposed to be upset by that remark??
Well I'm not..... ;-0)

Good night all,
Stay well and happy...... and WARM!

Hi

I visited Esholt in Yorkshire, the home of Emmerdale for 21 years from 1976 to 1997. I took many photos.

Also we went to Knaresborough and Durham. At the Durham RO I found a few ancestor burials and that but nothing new of my 3xgreat grandfathers emigration for instance, any info on his plans to emigrate. I might of expected the odd chance of an announcement in the papers or an obituary annouced when he died in America as often local newspapers announce deaths of former residents living abroad but none for him or his daughter and son in law who died in 1906 and 1911. Will have to find all that when he disembarked which is PA, America.

Hi Joyce, try not to get upset, you are doing the right thing, let your son suffer the consequences of what he's done, it's downright wicked of him to treat you this way.
Do what my counsellor tells me, stop and breathe lol, I am motormouth when I get going and now and then she says, let's pause while you take some deep breaths.

talk to you tomorrow,

I just had a natter with Joyce, told her to get Jan to write a note saying this person does not live here and send the lot back from whence they came! Don't even have to say they know the person, it's not their problem and the son shouldn't have done that to his Mum.
Never stops does it, worry over one thing or another with our kids whatever their ages?

take care all, must get out and get a lottery ticket, it's a big rollover tonight and my money will make it bigger, probably for someone else but you never know your luck do you?

see you all later

Sounds like a real 'star' your son Joyce (dutch)...
Have you told the police he does not live there?
I know it sounds hard, but you have to start looking after YOU.
That was a terrible thing for him to do to you and Jan. We all have enough trouble in this life keeping our own heads 'above water' without having to take the blame for others.
I love my son to bits, and his father and I would do ANYTHING for him.... BUT.... He would never over step the mark with us, and we can, and do rely on him for so much.
Chin up love and stop crying, you have cried enough.

Hi Joyce, lovely to see you so many times in one week.... congratulations.
Swords?
I don't think so, I would end up falling on it.... ACCIDENTALLY.
Pistols?
Well, I would have to hold onto my tray on wheels, and as I have become a bit of a 'Klutz'
I would most likely move it across the room and land with my head on your pistol!!
Lets just stick to words at 'any paces'.ha ha ha

Well, Tony has taken Allan out for a run. He needs to go to some shop somewhere, so it will give Allan a break.
I was asked.... honestly I was..... but I had such a bad time yesterday evening after the work I did (still not finished) that I wanted to potter around today, and relax a bit.
I get so, so told off, as I am sure you all do too, but it is frustrating and we just HAVE to try, don't we?

So many people asked me how I was in the past few messages, and I am sorry to say that I did not answer.
Ann, Hazel, Gail, and anyone else I may have forgotten, I am fine. And I am about to go and make the bed.... thank the lord for Duvets!
I was a late convert to the duvet.
I always loved the weight and 'protection' of the blankets with my envelope corners. Then when I got ill I tried to carry on but after realising that making Tony's bed with his Quilt (when he came home) was so easy to make, I decided to try,
Anyway folks I have to go and do SOMETHING..... anything, just to cross it off my list. Start with the bed I think.
NO JOYCE, I WILL NOT BE GETTING BACK INTO IT,YET! ;-0)

Bye all,
Deanna XXXX
