Joyce you have been busy. It's suprising where time goes when you are doing jobs for others isn't it. I've had a lot this year with my aunt's house clearance and settling her into a nice care home. My uncle has sold her house and I'm upset he only got £55,000 Should have let me do it.

Been to councilling today I hate it. Not the lady I talk to but talking.

Coco is looking at me to go for his evening walk, so better take him before it starts to rain again xx

Hi all,
Thank you for that entertaining post Joyce, glad to see the neighbours are keeping you busy and your brain occupied. also your son. It will be nice for you to see him even for a short time. We are disappointed this weekend as we were going to our son's for the weekend but there is a flu bug doing the round there which we have no wish to catch. We are sad because we have not seen them including our two youngest grandchildren since Christmas. They are such busy people and we are often on holiday when theya re not busy. So now it will be August before we see them.

Oh, and if Toby could come here and dig up a few of my missing ancestors I promise to feed him, I see he is good with trees!!!!!

Justice of Peace Report 15 Jul 2010 04:18

A very early good morning to one and all xxx
Please don't ask why I am sitting at this comp at so early an hour as this, suffice to say 'sleep' is not my best friend and has'nt been for years...Usually I will turn to a good book to pass the time but have run out of reading matter..tis too early to potter about in the garden, anyway it is raining!! I certainly must not annoy the neighbours by putting the vac around or turning on the washing machine, so for a little while you have the pleasure of my company.... I promise to type quietly so as not to disturb you and will only say nice things!..can I possibly be that good a girl, as if ..lol..
By the way Deanna, you mentioned you were working on your tree, if it would be of help I could send Toby around to your place, he is exceptionally good with and around trees and might even dig up some old bones, roman coins even...just make sure you give him plenty of love and return him to me in 'mint 'condition lol...
At present I am involved with helping out some of my less fortunate neighbours who all need a little help..the gentleman next door was found in a diabetic coma by a carer who calls each evening..she was only a youngster and was scared stiff so I took over, he was taken into hospital and I have had to fight the services to get cleaners in to gut the place..another close neighbour and friend has been reported for being a supposed car dealer! his only 'sin' has been in buying a car from the scrap dealers, working on it and using it until it conked out, then getting another old banger to replace it....he cannot afford anything dearer...I have used my knowledge gleaned from working for lawyers, many years ago, and come up with a few legal arguments in his defence....a third neighbour went into a nursing home and I have held his house keys and let authorised persons in....his daughter works full time so it helps her out and she is so grateful, bless her....
So you see folks I have not been sitting twiddling my thumbs whilst Rome burns, I have had my own little inferno to battle with....tis probably why I cannot sleep right now, my brain is still in overdrive!
I do have some good news to impart though, my son is flying in from Brisbane on the 10th September, not that I will see much of him because he is across to sell his house in Leicester so will be located there most of the time.. the house has been let and managed by an agency who accomodate business people from abroad, my son has finally taken the decision not to return to the UK in the future, hence sale of house.. after spending a couple of days with me, he will be driving my daughter and Toby up to Leicester to stay with my granddaughter, and horses of course, his house is only about ten miles away and he will be camping in an empty property, his choice!... to date I have amassed: camping bed, sleeping bag, pots and pans, cutlery, folding card table, cleaning utensils, toilet paper, tins of this and that and even an old but workable coloured TV...he was never a boy scout when he was young but never too late to have a go eh! to be based at the house means he can ensure the place is up to standard decor wise and tidy up any area of woodwork which might have been missed on vacation of tenants.....he has prior made appointments with bank and building society managers, and a couple of estate agents....he will see a few of his old friends across here then return to me for three days before flying home, phew! oh to be young and full of energy.......
Well all, tis not so early now..I started typing around 2.45am, have downed numerous cups of tea, popped a few pills and been to the loo endless times lol....just maybe I might sleep now......I hope I have not bored you too much with my prattling but as least you know I am still alive and yes Deanna, still talking too much lol....
Have a good day and bless.......tender ((hugs)) for my Caz xxxxxxx

Hello all, Carole it is lovely to hear the baby is putting on weight, I was wondering how she was.
I haven't heard from Joyce since yesterday lunch time, she was on her way to the bus to go to her sons. When she rings I will put it on the thread I started for her on General, she sounded excited, I do hope things went OK for her.

Hi all.

How are things? I have been doing a lot more genealogy lately.

As said I am creative and I have a few imaginary girls I make up in my head. These girls are realistic and true to life and they wear casual clothes mainly tracksuits but when they go out up shopping they wear jeans or dress up but they mainly wear trackies and have bfs and they work. It is a great thing to be creative.

Carole, not heard about Joyce as yet. How lovely that the tiny babay is doing so well bless her. I don't remember if she has a name or not?

Deanna, it is much warmer here today so far although very cloudy with occasional light drizzle. Just spent 3/4 of an hour in the garden cutting bits down and dead heading, difficult to keep on top of it this time of year.

Good morning all.
which Joyce are we talking about here Carole...Please... don't confuse me.
If it is Dutch Joyce, I have heard nothing so far.

Thank you Ann, as long as I was not the only one shivering yesterday. But it was cold wasn't it?
I got very *tough* and asked to have the heating on, very low, to take the chill out of the air.
It is not a joke really, as my husband has a very bad chest and the heat gets to him.
He was okay with it though, bless him.

Well, see you all later, I am going to do a bit on my tree.... if I can.
Bye all,

Again I come home from work and fall asleep. The kitchen a mess from the quick tea Steve made us.

My friends baby is now 2lb 11 oz. The heat in the incubator being turned down as she gains weight. Taking her feeds well and no longer has to be tube fed up her nose. Her dark hair covering her tiny head. How wonderful such a tiny being can survive.

Bed for me now. Anyone know if Joyce met her son?

Good point Ann... ;-0)
It makes an amusing picture, the dog falling out of bed going to the loo.

Another good point Ann, where is that money.
I am talking of Haiti... just forgot to say.
Remember when it was all happening, and there was crates and crates of bottled water lying by the planes.
I understand that the rescuers need to be kept healthy, I just could not accept that the children were dehydrated with all that water around.

I am freezing folks. Please someone tell me that they are cold too. My husband is NEVER cold.

See you later Ann. We seem to be the only ones here today.

Aah, that is why you needed ladybirds, black fly are horrible aren't they? Come to think of it I haven't seen many ladybirds around this year so far. Will have to watch my courgettes for black fly they seem OK so far.

Mary, how sad for the young girl from Haiti, I wonder why they seem to have been forgotten? And where is the money going if not to the right places? Oh and that poor woman, widowed, who has a nine year old amputee and a young baby as well as having lost her own arm. Makes you feel so helpless doesn't it?

Just trying to picture this large dog climbing the ladder into bed. Hope he realised he was up there when he woke up and needed to go out!!

Deanna Report 13 Jul 2010 15:08

Hi all, I am going to try and remember all that I told you this morning, and then deftly DELETED....
EEDJIT that I am.

Liz, do you really stay upstairs until you get the house to yourself?
That is awful love, you can't live like that, you are worth more Liz.
And if you are kidding us on, I'm gonna kill yah, having me worry about you like that.;-0)

AND. Get your SKYPE fixed up, it costs nothing to phone someone else on SKYPE, although be careful and do not phone anyone who is not signed up.
Just try to persuade them to join.
We could be so rich girls.

Joyce you did make me laugh this morning talking about the ladybirds.
It was so funny that I read it out to Allan, and even laughed. That was something as he is quite a dour man... not that he doesn't laugh, he does, but his humour is different from mine.
Well I suppose every ones is, after all, I laugh at anything! With, not AT people.

Allan also grows Courgettes and he said to tell you to add water and washing up liquid to a squeezy bottle. Use that to spray your courgettes.
Better than washing each leaf , stem, and flower! It will be quicker and you wont get your jimjams wet either.
We are going to try a few deep fried, stuffed, and battered courgette flowers.
Saw them on the TV and I have never had them. We love courgettes, and have cooked them stuffed, an in many other recipes. Lovely they are too.

AND.... I am sure I have never 'chided' you for talking too much Joyce, talking is my favourite hobby.
If there is one type of person I do not like it is ... a listener.
Have you ever been in the company of one?
I had an acquaintance who would come and visit, and just sit and stare, with the occassional nod!
I found myself sprouting the most inane prattle to her and was ALWAYS so pleased when she went.
I like my friends to chat with me... (a bit like you Liz) and fight for a quiet spot in the conversation ...... andthenjumpinquickly.... ha ha ha

And as for sending you to Coventry Joyce, for not writing at the precise time you said? I don't think so.
I was in Coventry once... years ago. Went to the theatre to see Val Doonican... he was amazing. A friend took me as a treat. And it was.
BUT, even with my young skin..... I would not have gone bare naked!! I would be so much more noticeable now... I'm so much bigger, and so much wrinklier.... So Joyce, lets not eh?

I have just reread your message Mary.
That story of the wee family in Haiti... My god are we luck people. That poor poor woman, and her children. And they are only ONE family. Bless them, I hope things change for the better for them.

Sorry everyone, I started out with a smile but ended on a sad note.
It just worked out that way, but then it may help me to remember where I am in my life.... and it is a good spot.

Caz, I take it your e-mail arrived That is a step forward for me.
Feet up Carole and rest all you want. You need it love.

Hugs to all,
Coffee time so I'm off.
Enjoy your afternoon and I will see you all again.

Well folks, I owe you an apology for not posting yesterday, as promised......even tonight I am only on for a brief period because I am scared stiff that Deanna might take me to task for letting the side down..she might even send me to Coventry! which might not be a bad idea because I would not need to wear my bikini!...if Lady Godiva could ride naked through the streets Coventry, well why not I......that is my excuse anyway lol.lol.....
For me, the internet has opened up a fascinating world from which I have learnt so much yet there is the odd occasion where small issues stump me, I am given information which cannot be acted upon, e.g. ...I have proudly and painstakingly grown courgettes from seed, have watched over and talked to them through different stages of growth, have had neighbours compliment me on how healthy they look, and yes, I was proud of myself, until........last Sunday morning...I was watering my plants when I noticed a dark colour on the courgettes, at closer inspection I found them all to be covered in blackfly!!!!!!!..I checked out the website for a solution and was given the following information... Place three or four LADYBIRDS amongst the leaves/flowers and they will devour the blackfly within hours, right! now all I needed to do was to find these ladybirds, like they were just waiting around ready to be called up for duty then all would be right with the world! .... now you know why I asked you that stupid question on Saturday where might I buy some ladybirds...I suppose I could have travelled up to London Zoo and nicked some, even walked through the woods close by and turned over the undergrowth in the hope of finding some...am sure Toby would have helped me in my search lol....instead I ended up taking the long and tedious job of washing each leaf, leaf stem, flower and bud,and there are hundreds of each...with soapy water and using a pastry brush!
I have now repeated this action five times and am wondering who is more washed out, me or the courgettes.....will let you know if they survive!
Mary lass, I bet you would love to have the time to linger over a small incident such as mine but your turn will come one day xx I also had to help bring up two of my g/children whilst my daughter was at work so know the responsibilty involved, bless you....
Well so much for my brief appearance tonight....Deanna, you have always told me I talk too much and I am beginning to believe it xxx..
Am away before the bewitching hour arrives just in case I turn into a pumpkin or even a courgette!!!!!!!
God bless all..........Caz...(hugs) xxxx

Thanks Carole, do you think I could win a prize talking for England??
My son would probably say "no way mum, not with the rubbish you talk!"
Do you think he loves me??? ;-0)

Mary, your poor little girl. Is there anything they can do... even in the future?
I was not the one who filled the pool, it was JOYCE....
SEE, I get the blame for everything!! sob.. sob's quietly.
I knew very early on that keeping a bikinini was a waste of time.
I used to like a nice all over swim suit anyway.
Kept a lot of clothes which I could not bear to give away, but had to in the end.
Is that the correct bear/bare, I must be tired.

We are so lucky when we look around us, aren't we?
I can have such a moan if I get down, and no, it
does not help to see that there are people worse off than me.
It perhaps should, but it doesn't... not when we are down.

Anyway... tea is ready so I have to go...
Sorry it is just a short wee note full of rubbish, but I will be back.
Love to all.

Sorry folks, I've been swamped with chilluns home 24/7. Everyone has been sleeping down here because the upstairs is just so hot, had high 30's temps past few days, rained last night so better today. Been absolute chaos with all 7 people in my flat, plus 4 dogs and a cat.
Big question is what to eat when it's so hot, I'd rather just drink - interpret that however you like LOL.
It is wonderful to see JP back and chuckle over Toby. Joyce you should see me dealing with 4 dogs, getting tangled in leads etc, trying to figure out who eats what and how much and how to keep track of who is where. The cat went into hiding, wish I could too LOL. Sarah's service dog,Sandy, has learned that he must sleep with her or beside her, last night for the first time Dudley slept ON Gareth's loft bed, quite a sight to see this big dog climb the ladder!! They both slept well.
We had hoped that Sarah's seizures were better controlled but last night she had another quite major one, while standing in their inflatable splash-pool, took 3 of us to get her out of the water to dry land. No matter how many seizures I see, my stomach turns over each time. All I can think is "more inflammation of the brain".
Had a 3-day migraine headache which has finally abated this morning, clouds are heavy, once they clear, all should be well.
I've been made a moderator of the local Freecycle group, don't ask how I was talked into it, guess I thought I didn't have enough to do.
Liz would you hurry up and get this wedding over with to reduce your stress level???
Deanna glad to see you in good form - having the giggles over you filling a pool in your bikini. I kept my bikini so long (waiting for the day it would fit again) that the elastic deteriorated into dust!!. There went my polka-dot bikini and my dreams of ever being Skinny Minny again.
The lotto on Wednesday night is $43 million - suppose a ticket would be in order.
Had to do 'surgery' yesterday, apparently Em's dolly has developed a cleft lip since Sarah played with it and tried to examine her mouth!! (something you should look forward to if ever you meet Sarah - along with a check of your upper arms to see if the fats swings like mine) Poor dolly looks pathetic but Em is happy.
Had some sad news yesterday, you may remember I've been helping a girl from Haiti and her 2 year old daughter. She called yesterday in tears, having just (6 months later) learned that her friend had lost her husband in the earthquake, and also lost her dominant right arm, her 9 year old daughter lost both legs, and the 1 1/2 year old baby uninjured. Mother now thinking she must give away her baby as she can't manage to dress herself, let alone care for a baby yet and her amputee daughter. The rest of the world gets on with their life and these folks are still suffering, after 6 months she was finally able to get a message to Naomi. Please send positive thoughts to that poor country, the help they have received is not necessarily going where it was intended. Apparently this lady is still living in a tent and the rainy season is coming so they know they are facing more hardship. It's inhumane isn't it. I complain about our needs but in reality we are very well off in comparison. What I wouldn't try to do if I won the jackpot. probably wouldn't have much left after helping all my 'causes'.
I've just been brought another dolly for suturing, this one has a gash on her forehead!! Looks like me after I fell head-first off our garden wall, onto the pavement, when I was 3 years old. The 2 bumps and scars remain, don't think it knocked much sense into me LOL. When I was a nursing student, scrubbed in for surgery by a plastic surgeon, he looked at me over his mask and said, 'give me a call if you want your head fixed'. I still chuckle over that, never had my head 'fixed' but I seem to have managed OK. Most of the time.
back to the grind, hugs all round.

Change is much harder to cope with as we get older.

Joyce (JP) what on earth do you want with ladybirds? Intriguing.

Deanna, I am so pleased that Mary got her bag back, it is the little things that matter to us. At least the thief had a heart of sorts.

Deanna Report 11 Jul 2010 11:47

Hi all,
Liz...... don't you dare tell me that I should 'call'.....
You were gonna call me.... YOU SAID.
and I did not want to upset anyone by phoning.
AND... set up your SKYPE..... Puleeeeeeeeeees.

I am not desperate for company... ever, I just have a need to chat to certain peeps at certain times.

I did have a laugh at you losing your skirt.... and at church too.
I was going to say... "only you", but no, I lost my knickers one day while visiting my sister-in-law (about 50 years ago.) I managed to keep them up until I got to the house, but they dropped as I opened the door.
The front door led into the bedroom where her husband was in bed after a work shift.
Standing with my knickers around my ankles, he sat up and said something on the lines of .... "no thanks Deanna, I'm a bit too tired"....funnneeeee! Cheeky so and so.

Joyce, have you ever seen the animals at the Zoo(on TV), the keepers make them ice lollies with their favourite fruit and veg. Good idea. The seem to love it too.

As for a fancy dress dance, I don't think so . I would have to come as a pumpkin and I don't fancy that at all. ;-0)

LADYBIRDS?
Do you mean real ones, or ornamental ones?
The later can be had in catalogues and garden shops... the former? I don't know. How do you catch a ladybird? AND... what do you want with them?

And no I was not trying to beat you at your old game.... I couldn't. I seem to remember you managing to start on a second page!
Boy can we talk......

Liz, and Joyce, how is Caz?
I have had all my e-mails returned through my new e-mail provider!
I am so angry about it. She must think she is being deserted, please tell her she has not.

Ah well. A bit cooler today, TG.. and I am going to do a bit of reading.
The book is really clutching at my heart. I am identifying with this girl, up to the point where her father leaves her a beautiful town house!! My fathers gift to me was the knowledge that NO ONE knew he even had a daughter, let alone TWO.

So folks, off to read now. Look after yourselves, and I see your son was happy with his birthday, and all the worrying we do as parents.

Byeeeeee Love and hugs to all,

Just a quick reply, especially for that Deanna women who keeps complaining about everyone not being here lol, you must think I am as my son used to say a mind dreamer (mindreader) to know to be here to cheer you up lol All you have to do is call if you are desperate for company, ok? If it's morning I won't be up but usually around in the pm so could call you back if there is a message saying Help in a feeble voice lol so I get all sympathetic!
Joyce, what shall I do with her?

Anyway, Deanna, so glad your pal Mary got her things back that were special to her, even tho it must feel bad that someone has been through everything. Did she hand the bag to the police to fingerprint in case this is a persistent offender?

You want a giggle, look on my lad's bday thread - my skirt almost fell down as I went into the church.

Joyce, glad you are managing to keep Toby cool, my dad used to put a block of sulphur in our dog's drinking water when it was hot, not sure why tho.
I heard a woman from an animal sanctuary talking on radio who said they were freezing the dog food before giving it to them as it cooled the dogs down from the inside, might be an idea for Toby, at least chill his dinner unless it's just biscuit type stuff altho that might make it ok unless his teeth aren't too strong. Sorry if that doesn't make sense , am so tired I am going off to bed in a mo

Catch you all later, take care and don't overheat
