I don't know about Gails but my subscription runs out in January I think. I have just been otherwise occupied.
Must have bought the wrong squash or something,I think the old bugger must be hyperactive. He seems to have gone up a gear and now, having insisted he could not even water the plants with a jug,he is out there with the hose-pipe in his wheelchair. There is a new chair on order as he has worn this one out.Not bad for ninety!
Thank you for thinking about me.Must get back to the jam and stuff before he starts blackberrying again.

I am never sure whether when the thread languishes we are all thriving or all too poorly to post.
Deanna hope you soon feel well enough to come back and chat. Colin, Hi, just me and thee today by the looks of it. What is your weather doing? Despite dire threats of heavy rain so far today has been lovely and sunny here in Gloucestershire.
Joyce, Gail, Sharron, Mary, Carole and whoever else looks in Hope your day is a good one.

The poor old thread is languishing. Aren't we all? Hope you are feeling better, Deanna. Thank you for keeping us up do date Caz. I know it is hard for you. If you look in Gail, hello. Dutch Joyce, looks like things are slowly improving with your sons especially the traffic offender one. One of the problems I guess with a Euro drivers license. Joyce JP, I don't know if we have spoken before. I think we know how you feel about the 26th and if you want to stay away we understand. I don't think you ever forget, but it does get easier. My mother was 46 when she died in a horrible accident-- it is hard to believe that if she was still alive she would be over 80. Hi Liz, hope the old bloke settles down after the problem of having to to an exam. Not really fair though; they give no credit for life and experience. Hello Carole and Ann, we seem to be hanging in there and going OK. Best wishes to those I have forgotten to mention. Sorry. Colin

Caz, what a long post, I hope you didn't suffer too much for writing it. Even when you are not on here I often wonder how you are.
Joyce, how lovely to see both your sons after so long. And at least eldest is taking responsibility for his fines. Even if he doesn't come on your birthday he has made an effort.
I had not realised that Gail and Sharron had not renewed, that is sad, they both contributed a lot to this thread and I thought they got something from it too. If either of you are looking in we look forward to welcoming you back some time.
Mary, that is a shame if Gareth has developed something that is permanent from something that is supposed to help him. Were you warned about this side effect? Surely you should have been. The trouble is, as he gets bigger, he gets stronger so please take care he doesn't hurt you. Is his dog helping him at all? How is Sarah and how is she getting on with the dogs?

I didn't realise Gail and Sharron weren't on here any more, am I slow or wot? If you look in girls please know we care about you. I'm having a difficult day with Gareth, he's developed some disturbing symptoms which the Dr says are a side effect of one of his meds, and get this - the symptoms may be permanent. To my observation he looks more 'autistic' now than her ever has. So sad, when he is calm he is such a beautiful child, and of course is angelic when asleep. Then there's the rest of the day. Sadly these are next to no drugs specifically for the aggression and anger and tantrums of autism, so we try and distract and risk getting swotted across the cheek. When I read 'turn the other cheek' years ago in the Bible, I never expected to take it absolutely literally!!
It's still hot but not as overwhelming today as it has been.
Yesterday was my late mother's birthday, still miss you Mum, and all your idiosyncracies!!! My daughter's car finally died today, now we are down to one car and my chauffeuring days are not over!! group hug, Mary

Flippin heck Joyce, that must have been a shock to see your son on the doorstep. Glad he had the guts to apologise and explain but one call could have saved you all that worry. Will chat with you tomorrow
Sorry Gail isn't around any more and Sharron too, all the good people leaving which is a shame.
Take care all, too tired to post much. O.h. on a course for work and has to do an exam on Thursday, he reckons if he doesn't pass it he will lose his job, I can't see that happening but who knows with the company he works for. He is like a bear with a sore head!

Hey Caz how nice to see you. And such a long post, it must have been painful for you. Hope you soon get your shower done.
Gail is no longer a member on GR so can't post. Sharron also. ~~~~~~waves to them both, I think they might look in now and again xx
Just walked Coco and the house seems to have got hot while I was out! It always does that.
Very late home from work tonight (two hours) short staffed, and we just can't walk away. Back tomorrow to finish this job. We have one on mat leave, one on holiday, one left for a hospital appointment at lunch, and the other has broken her toe so after making it for pick up at 8am went straight home.
And so to bed, thinking of you all of course xx

Hello all,I haven't seen any messages from Gail for a while, I do hope she is alright, if you are looking in Gail I think about you every day as I do with all of you.I haven't been on for a while because I am so fed up of the pain and trying to walk it's getting me down now. No one can tell me what it is in my right hip and thigh apart from muscle inflamation and to take anti inflamitary tabs, morphine doesn't touch it and I end up stuck where I happen to be and groaning, wanting to scream actually. I don't know how long I am going to be able to put up with it. If I knew what was causing it I would feel better, I know I have cancer in my pelvis and one hip but they haven't told me which one, so it could be that I suppose. I had some good news on Friday, the occupational therapist sent a letter to the housing place saying I needed mixer taps with extended levers in kitchen, also a walk in shower as soon as possible. The news came back that I would have to wait for a year for the shower, and taps will be put in soon. They came and did the taps, a modern version of what was on, so my warden got back to them and they put some more on, then last week they brought the extended lever ones. Single taps again and 6 inch levers coming out over the small sink, how on earth are we supposed to use the sink. John the area manager was in the office when warden faxed a complaint through to repairs and he put his fillings on the bottom, John is worried about me because he says every time he sees me I am worse so need the shower now. It turns out the repair shop boss rang them the same afternoon and it's arranged that he will process my walk in shower from Friday, and I'll get the proper taps that my poor hands will be able to use. It will be all done within the month, the only problem is the noise as they have to drill the cement floor out to get to the pipes. Cocky my bird is going to my sisters for a while and I am being sent to the guest room during the day while it is noisy so I can read or sleep and make hot drinks and meals. It will be like a little holiday of my own. My fingers are hurting after all that typing, when I think of how I used to add messages when this thread started, I wish I was back like that now.
I won't mention you all by name but I think of you all every day and sometimes catch up on the thread. Love and hugs to all.
Caz xx

The house will need knocking back to it's shell! I saw that when I cleared it. Rewiring, replastering, it's got no boiler or central heating. It will need new windows and doors. A new kitchen and bathroom. Thats just to start.
Coco pleased to be back after his short break with Ann.
Joyce I like the idea of going somewhere quiet with your family to send up loving thoughts to your daughter.

Carole, glad that you were able to put your mind at rest re the sale, there is obviously more that needs doing than first thought. And I suppose it helps one young person to get a foot on the propert ladder.
Joyce, thank you for relieveing me of Coco, I am sure he is lovely but would be happier staying with carole Lol!!!
I will give you lots of thought on 26th July, a very sad day for you. But when you no longer have need to keep your mind occupied please continue to post we love to hear from you.

After speaking to my other uncle I will let the house sale rest. He is happy that considering the work that needs doing to Aunts house a reasonable price was got. And that it is going through an estate agents and above board.

Here I am again folks but slightly later this morning, time now being 5.50am Before I get carried away with my prattling I thought I would let you know that my courgette plants are thriving but only after a few more tickles with the pastry brush and soapy water...I suspect that by using this method I also did the bees out of their job by helping to pollenate/fertilise the female flowers! I now have many 2" baby courgettes and will pick them when they are about 4", yummy..I also have lots of tomatoes appearing so am quite happy to put up with the heat to help them on their way..
In our own and different ways most of us have taken on the role of being 'carers' during our lifetime...when I was in my later 20's I nursed both my mother and mil at home, with cancer, so very sad....along the way it has involved other family members, friends and neighbours...to me it seems the most natural thing in the world to be there when needed, like you have been Carole with your aunt.....so why is it that a few of my neighbours question my motives, one actually asked me what I was hoping to get from the house of the neighbour who was going into a home...I will not repeat what I said to her (this is the neighbour who demanded I pull up all my marigolds because she termed them as weeds)!....another neighbour wanted to learn in detail the state of the home that is presently being cleaned and gutted by hospital personnel, and why was'nt the elderly man being put into a home if he could'nt look after himself, she went on to say that his gardens were an eyesore to any visitors to the court and he was letting the side down...she even had the cheek to slyly ask if he was my boy friend...at that point my daughter stepped in, had a few words with her and we have not spoken since which suits me down to the ground...there is a saying which goes 'Patience, seldom found in women, never in men'...well my patience has been sorely tested this past couple of weeks but none more than what happened many years ago .. a bit like you and your uncle, Carole...greed is a horrible sin when it rears it's ugly head and I understand how you are feeling right now over the sale of your aunties home..Ann is quite right when she questions how the sale was handled but feel it is too late to address the validity of it, or is it too late! On the day of my moms funeral my uncle actually demanded the return of jewellery she had inherited from her grandmother, my husband threw him out of the house...it is well know in the legal profession that upon a death, the vultures appears, how very true that is..... Time to climb off my soapbox and return to normality, me thinks eh Deanna lol.... Ann, I am so sorry you missed out on seeing your son and grandchildren and that your plans for a reunion had to be put on hold, not long to wait now though...ask Coco if he would like to join Toby on one of our 'walkies', if so he is more than welcome, the more the merrier...now there's 'paws' for thought!......you have also given me an idea for a business venture, I could hire out Toby as a tree investigator, he would certainly enjoy the task of sniffing out old relics and digging up the odd skeleton or two, maybe find a hoard of hidden treasure in the process.... am getting carried away now lol......
Maybe it will help you all to understand why I have started to post more, lately.....tis my way of keeping my mind occupied when all it wants to do is retreat into the past instead... the 26th July is fast approaching which sadly brings with it the sixth anniversary of my daughters passing......whoever it was that said time is a great healer must have been more at peace than myself...on the day in question my daughter, granddaughter and myself will go up into the hills, sit quietly and send up our love to her...
On that note I will love and leave you for now, have a good day and be kind to each other.........as always Caz (((hugs))) xxxxxx
Joyce P
Oops, sorry Ann ...it appears I landed you with Carole's dog..will now hand him back to Carole, ....one dog now returned to rightful owner.......

Carole, if you really suapect that I am sure there is a law against profitting like that. It is awful if he has really let it go cheap, was it through an estate agent. How does it compare with other houses the same in that area? £55ooo seems awfully cheap, I don't know anywhere that you can buy a house for that price.
