Sharron, I think your family should be the next ones on Channel 4, what entertainment for us all! You are amazing!

You got her because you knew Mary needed her.

His birthday is 23rd and he had a shower on it so it must be special.

It is a lovely blanket.I have tried it out and feel it is totally unsuitable for him but, rather than have it wasted,I will use it.Sadly,he doesn't believe me either!

I went shopping and bought the booze for the Christmas cake.Three sorts and I had a little try of each, not a lot of any.He had a drop of the rum too.

Now I am ready to crash.I have evidently lost the knack of drinking. I have entirely encompassed the concept of old- farthood now.Poor old soul!
Once my Tesco delivery gets here I am asleep.

Brilliant idea one of those blankets Sharron, now what would happen if you sewed up the wrists????? It would give him a chance to sit still while he unpicks the seam!!

Pom-pom oil - now that's a good one, must remember it.
Can-can I could possibly understand, but pom-pom? Conjures up an interesting vision LOL

Tell Fred that I love Dundee cake too but don't have the bonus that he does - to have someone to bake one for me.
Does he share my birthday - Nov 20th?

off to buy dog food, wish it would be on reduced stand once in a while, these big dgs eat 4 times more than the other two. We are saving on puppy food at present becuase Ginny is filling up on shoelaces and magazines and papers. Don't ask why i got her for Mary, must have been one of those weak-minded moments . . .
hugs,Mary

I got one of those blankets last Christmas Sharron, it was £10 at a local supermarket, Bugdens, but I am sure you can find one elsewhere which won't cost a fortune. The original Slankets are around £25 I think.

Hope Fred enjoys his cake.

Oh how I wish I could speak fluent Fred.He came rolling out in the kitchen yesterday and asked me if we had any pom-pom oil.Oddly enough we seem to be right out.
It turned out to be lavatory cleaner.I don't know if he has been cleaning the pan in the wet room but he told me he couldn't do it.
Made him a Dundee cake for his birthday because that is what he likes and the carers have all had to see it.
I heard him telling them he was having one of those blankets with sleeves in for his birthday so I suppose I had better find out where I can get one.
Now,why do I get anxious again?

Hi Diana, any anxiety is something that needs support and you will get it on here. Also I am sure writing about it helps too. No doubt you are worrying that if your breathing doesn't feel right it must be something wrong with your lung again. Have you tried relaxation music and really concentrate on it. Or practising a yoga relaxation technique of closing your eyes and picturing yourself in your favourite place breathing ina and out slowly and really concentrating on 'seeing' where you are?

I hope you can find somebody who has similar problems to chat to.

Glad you enjoyed your birthdays and your cards Mary, sorry your meal was spoilt by your server and I am pleased you didn't leave a big tip.

Thanks Sharron!!
Well Colleen and I celebrated our birthday(s) today, somewhat of an un-celebratory day, but never mind, we went out for supper and came home for Birthday (ice-cream) cake to Gareth's great delight. Had the most awful waitress/server at the restaurant, obviously did not like the noise of the kids, or the dogs being there, and made herself as scarce as possible. We waited for 5 minutes after the food was served and finally went to the reception desk to ask for cutlery. Multiple issues the whole time. We left almost $0 tip.
C& I gave the manager an ear-ful when we were leaving.

I spent the day re-organising my baking cupboard, may not sound like much of a job, but we use 5-7 different flours & starches to make each gluten-free recipe. Now they are all organised in containers instead of bags which had spread dust all over, and I can find things quickly. Have developed a great recipe for fruit (blueberry or cranberry/orange) muffins, for the kids lunches. Now quick to put together. Make a few dozen and freeze them.

We are seeing a slight improvement in G's behaviour at school, he had 2 days this week which the aides labelled "awesome".
Minimary seems to be recovering quickly from the c-pox, will return to school on Monday I think. In the meantime, I am itching up a storm. LOL
off to bed now, many thanks for some lovely b'day cards received and good wishes.
Hugs
Mary

Of course I can Mary. You write your note and e-mail it to me and I will tweak it to look pompous.

Even if you are related to royalty you need not think that I will curtsey to you, nor, indeed, will I throw money!

Looks like it might be a bit sunny today, and not before time!

Mary, I am so glad you went to receive your gift, do make sure it is somewhere safe as I would hate it to get damaged as has happened with other treasured items you had.

Hope you aren't feeling too poorly and the chicken pox is gentle on everyone, will it go through all the family do you think or have any of the others had it before. Take as much care of yourself as you can.

Good thing that Colleen's ex saw what you all have to cope with especially poor Gareth, maybe now he will realise what an easy time he has had so far, and step up to the mark a bit more.

Now if you find you are related to the Middletons will we have to touch our forelocks when we make contact with you lol? Do hope you find out more eventually.

Tinky, welcome to the clan - I try to pop in here now and then but am not spending much time on the boards at the mo, as too much else to deal with here.

Often around at night time tho so if you are stressed and can't sleep, come and look for me - I am a good listener.

love to all

Well I changed my mind and went to receive my retirement gift, a beautiful cherry wood, antique-style clock, with an inscription on the back. It really is lovely, I skipped the luncheon and just went to the reception. Now I am ready to sleep!! I was truly floored, I expected a lapel pin or some such item, this was a lovely surprise. And it suits my old house, will have place of honour!! Now to write an eloquent thank-you note, Sharron can you help me?
LOL you were right, I have been made to slow down!!
off to bed early, 'night all.

Well,he came home dripping a bit, full of sausage casserole, apple streudel and light ale, giving his orders. I had to go and buy a sack of bird seed.

Chicken pox is horrible for an adult isn't it?Made you slow down for a bit though didn't it!

Think I will go to my pit now.Night night.

maxiMary Report 18 Nov 2010 13:21

AnneG yes I have had chickenpox - twice, plus shingles 3 times so I am thinking the same, hope we aren't hatching another bout of shingles.
I am going to miss receiving my work retirement award today, still nauseated and very itchy in spots so am not going to risk taking the virus to a Home for the Aged. Sad, after 23 years in a job, to miss the final connection. But I'd rather stay home, so there it is.
Intrigues me about Kate Middleton, because - we have yet to identify my grandfather's father, all family said was that he was a wealthy landowner and my greatgrandfather was a tenant farmer, so putting 2+2 together, the only wealthy landowner I could find in the area was surname Middleton. I chased him for ages to no avail. Don't suppose Kate would like to share DNA results with me to see if there is something in common LOL.
oh the joys of family research.
Sharron let him go, he's earned his freedom after 91yrs, give him a mac and send him on his way. Imagine what he'll do at home if he's grounded!!

It is grey, cold, overcast, peeing down with rain and guess who is raring to get out and go up to the village lunch. It is about a mile and a half in his wheelchair,he is ninety-one next week.Is it too late to ground him?

AnninGlos Report 17 Nov 2010 15:25

Mary, have you had chicken poz? I hope that is not what you are 'hatching'. Poor miniMary, chicken pox is miserable. Luke warm baths with Tea Tree oil in or Lander oil to sooth the itching.

maxiMary Report 17 Nov 2010 15:00

Welcome Tinky, this is one place we can rant and still receive hugs.
Oh boy it is getting cold here, and my Christmas deco which I hung yesterday has all blown away in the big wind we had overnight. So much for hanging some deco before the snow arrives. The last of the maple leaves came down overnight, nice mess out there.
miniMary came home yesterday at noon with chickenpox, at least it's a new issue, not more of the same-old with Gareth. he is having a really hard time, bless him. yesterday his Mummy met with his father to show him video of gareth in the classroom acting out. his Dad was upset - good - about time there was some emotion about his children. Sorry but it has been hell for the last 6 months and he hasn't helped at all.
I am feeling flu'y today so I'm heading back to bed. hugs all round. Thanks for being there.
