How do I add photo and researching list to my posts - Beautiful sunny mothers day here, it`s also known as blossom Sunday round here, the fruit belt of Ontario, as the fruit trees are coming into bloom. Gareth had a wee accident yesterday, spent a few hours at the Emerg dept but xrays were negative. He jumped into the shallow end of the pool at the `Y`, and immediately began screaming, can`t or won`t put any pressure on his heel, walking on his toes today. Hard to tell if the foot is swollen or just chubby LOL. Everyone else is pretty good, so lovely to see the sun today, daffs & tulips are blooming in my garden, finally spring. Now I suppose next week I`ll be complaining about the heat, as our so-called spring never lasts long.
Don`t be concerned about the chaos, it`s just a way of life LOL. Group hug, Mary

Hi Carole, the changes happened a couple of days ago. Good aren't they?
We had mixed weather on our holiday but still had a great time.

Oh when did these changes happen?
Been working and visiting mum so don't know where time has gone.
I did spend last Friday watching the wedding though. I went to a friends for the service but came home to watch more on my own. I wish I had recorded it!
Ann hope you had some good weather during your month away. Mary it sounds like chaos as usual at your house xx

Mary chaos still reigns in your household I see. Sorry not to have been able to send you a parcel of sunshine from Tenerife. Back home now and the weather has been great. However we are due rain today apparently. How do you cope with all those animals? Do the dogs all get along? And does the cat with the dogs?

So glad to see familiar faces back on here!! I've missed dear Toby - .And Joyce glad to see you too!! And Hazel - but Ann G - what are you doing in somewhere warm, without shipping me some sunshine. . . . We have our own chaotic zoo here - between the 2 service dogs, miniMary's psycho puppy and Megan's cat - now Em wants her own puppy, and I have only just reclaimed my space. Minimary moved upstairs, and Em moved down here with me. Between them, they have sorted and discarded a lot of things, so we'll have a sale on the front lawn when the weather is better. We had a brief flash of spring, then it got REALLY chilly and some snow (which didn't lie long) and now rain, endless rain.Hard to feel motivated when the weather is so rotten LOL. Gareth and the dogs are thoroughly familiar with every mud puddle in back. Minimary's white dog was absolutely filthy last evening, our friend from Haiti was here, with her 3 yr old daughter, the child observed that the dog was white, now it's black, and asked if the same thing would happen to me LOL. She is suddenly very aware of the difference in our skin colour - at 3 years old. Her mother thought that we now have a 'mulatto' dog!! Emlyn was very pleased with the Easter Bunny yesterday, but wanted to know " if the bunny or God could do more miracles". Seems there is some confusion about each of their roles. She's ready to dismiss Santa and the Easter bunny really, but needed this one more time. Their new swing set is already well worn-in. what a blessing, except when it's raining like today. This is the tail end of their 4 day easter weekend, and I am ready for them to go back to school tomorrow!!
Got to run, Sarah has managed to sneak into the shower and dumped an entire bottle of shampoo on herself, back to work,Ho,Ho . . . Mary

Sorry not to have been on here more, I think the thread disappeared out of sight and became out of mind.
Mary I am so pleased that Gareth is doing well at his new school, I hope the progess continues. And also wish you luck with finishing your blanket.
I am writing this in Tenerife on a months holiday, sadly the weather today is not too brilliant, it is a bit grey and not that warm. Still we have had some lovely days so can't grumble. At the moment I can smell a lovely barbecue from down the road.
Joyce, how lovely to see you on here again. I am so sorry to read of your Granddaughter's baby, it must have been awful for her. I do know what it is like as our daughter in law had to deliver a baby that was not alive. Such a sad and horrible occasion.
On the other hand, how wonderful to be able to rescue the horses. Sounds as if young Toby is still on tope form bless him, I miss reading about his antics. I know what you mean about Easter not being recognized for the right reason. I have not seen any Easter Eggs here so I don't think they can have them in Spain. Today we walked along the front in Puerto de la Cruz and were in time to see the Easter parade leave the cathedral. It seemed to be all the chuches gathered as there were several what looked like choirs, each in different colours and all carrying lights, then came the priests under a canopy followed by quite a large band playing very solemn music which we thought strange as we thought being Easter Sunday it should be 'happy' music, the solemn day being Good Friday. Unlike other parades there were no fire crackers. But all the local people had turned out to see it plus the holiday makers so at least it was marked as a religious festival. Carole, sorry about your barbecue and here we were thinking that you were having a heat wave at home, sounds like you had more rain than we did yesterday as we also got rained on, no hail stones although there is still snow on Mount Teide.

Joyce it's lovely to see and read all your news. So sorry about the baby. What a difficult time for everyone. Hope your granddaughter is coping well. On the other hand your news was fantastic! I'm sure your friends and family and all on here are made up for you. And the two new horses I am sure are happy in their new field. What a sight that must be to see them joining the rest of the horses. I too wish Easter and Christmas were more about the ce lebration of Christ rather than the greedy buying it has become.Instead of being a time of love it's become a time that puts too much preasure on families to spend money they don't have. I am not religious but do think as a country we have lost the real reason for these occasions. Happy Easter to you all. Last night our daughter asked us to a BBQ at their house. Half Five, we got there late but after half an hour Steve said look at that black cloud! Soon we started to feel tiny wet drops. And within minuites it was chucking it down with hail stones the size of marrowfat peas!! The patio soon looked like we were back in winter with a white covering. What a shame they had made so much effort to prepare for their visitors.
Now in answer to your pm..........I hadn't posted on here for a while so I think what you are confusing with your post number is where it says my name in the list of topics. My name is there cos I started the thread. It doesn't say the name there of the last person to post. But its wierd cos I don't know how the bit that says Mary you always make me smile got there. That was part of a post after one of Marys funny posts. It's not part of the very first post I made.
Well busy decorating again today. Hope you all have a good week end xx

Is it me or genesreunited who are stuck in a time warp! or maybe the world came to an end after the last posting on 5th April and I have failed to notice ....but then it could be my brain which promised to take a break to rejuvenate itself, as if!.....yes folks I am still alive and kicking and awaiting a delivery of garden plants and shrubs from Jersey..I have purchased the usual flowering plants to fill my numerous large pots, three gooseberry bushes and two Japanese maple shrubs which will brighten up the porch when winter takes hold.. no more planting of aubergines or red peppers which turned out a disaster last year, shame.. all I need now is for some strong man to come along to prepare and feed the soil prior to planting, any offers! lol....... I hoped against hope that the year 2011 would be a little kinder to me but no! Late November I had an adverse blood test, followed by yet another one then a chest x-ray which showed up what my doctor said was a growth on my right lung..the usual fast tracking to see a specialist, ct scan and finally results late December showed no cancer, brill....The following week my granddaughter who was three months pregnant had a scan which showed her baby was abnormal which lead to many tests, a week prior to her four month term they did another scan only to find the baby (Madison Anne) was dead, such a sad and bad time for her and the rest of us...The beginning of March my daughter finally had keyhole surgery on her knee, that's after waiting over a year...the knee op went fine but the diagnosis was that she had arthritus in both knees and would require knee replacements....happy families eh! On a lighter note is our Toby bless him....early this morning he was running with his beloved horses up in Coventry, and right now he is flat our and fast asleep on the 'poo' pile, I wonder what doggies dream about apart from bones and finding a postman to bite lol....My daughter and other grandaughter are doing something so very nice I feel, they have adopted two neglected horses which they can accommodate with ease due to lush pasture acreage they own, within three weeks these horses are beginning to fill out and the vet said that on Sunday they can be introduced to the rest of the herd, a lovely ending I feel....
Well dear folk Easter is upon us once more but I just wish that the period was recognised more widely as being the true celebration of Easter and not as the swopping of Easter eggs, etc.....
I think about and remember all my old friends with love, how about popping online to let me know how you are ...if it were possible I would hold a party in October being my 80th birthday...can imagine.I probably would not get a word in edgeways lol
So to my Y Cazxxxx Deannaxxxx Maryxxxx Carolexxx Annexxx and all you lovely folk out there have a great weekend and take care xxxx
Joyce xxx

nudge - is everyone cured of their depression & anxiety? or just busy witrh the weather improving??? I have some positive news at long last. Gareth has slipped into his new routine incredibly well, Yesterday they reported he had NO behaviours the entire school day,(comparte to at least 5/day before), he is following his visual schedule independently, they think he's "lovely" - I am so glad they are seeing this side of him. Poor kid must just have been so frantically agitated by the extra stimulation of so many people & noise at his previous school. Sarah hasn't had another seizure since the bad one last week, when she ended up in hospital for 2 days. I was so thrilled that my heart tests came back OK, now to keep it that way. Nitro-spray just in case . . . . I have started on pills for cholesterol, does that protect me enough to return to eating pastries??????? Chocolate eclairs are so good for my mental health LOL. Hope the rest of my pals are doing well also. I am trying to return to knitting, not the best thing for arthritic hands, but very relaxing and rewarding for me in small doses.. My sister in law's mother passed away leaving a half-completed huge afghan blanket for her daughter who doesn't know one end of a needle from another so, In my wisdom, she who never has enough to do, I offered to complete it for her. That was 5 years ago. It is now 3/4 completed and my goal is to complete it for my s-i-l's birthday in September. Loads of cables etc, my fav type of knitting, so much more interesting that plain old boring stocking stitch. back to work now. TTFN, mary

Went to the Drs Friday for an annual review of my asthma and copd. I was offered (and had) an injection against pneumonia. My left arm is painful, and today going to see Mum I had to swap seats in the car and get Steve to drive. Wallpapering has had to come to a stand still for the time being. I have to drive to work in the morning but luckily not too far away. Its when I try to move my arm backwards it hurts. If the traffic is bad tomorrow perhaps I'll get to work in first gear!!!

Sharron I hope things have improved for your garden gnome. Just popping infor a sec as it has been a right royal mess of a week here, Sarah's been in hospital for 2 days, after a long seizure, spiked a fever which is still hanging on, she appears to have a sore throat but wouldn't open her mouth to let the Dr look at it LOL. Her meds are being adjusted yet again, as are Gareth's - he starts at his new school on Wednesday - that should be an interesting day for him and us. Colleen is down with a "bug" today, and this morning my bathroom ceiling started leaking.
Other than that we are all fine. I am hoping for good results from my tests later this week, I have to assume that if there was something wrong they would have called. Yes I know that can be the wrong thing to assume, but I will make an appt to make sure. Besides, I don't have time for illness or injury or other things that waste the days in sleep. Certainly haven't got time for a breakdown.
The Sun is out, there are wee daffs poking their heads through a snowpile, spring is around the corner, at long last. Have a good week dear friends. Mary

Sharron, I am pleased to hear that he was not more badly hurt. I would definitely inform the council. If it is that bad a hole anyone could trip in it. Hope he has not damaged his foot anyway.

The old man fell out of his wheelchair today. He and his friend had gone shopping on the bus. He always gets his own hearing aid batteries from the medical centre. As he was rolling on back toward the shops and bus stop he had to keep to the side to let some people pass the other way. His front wheel went into a hole with a drain grid in it and he fell out.
Luckily two men were passing and they and his friend were able to put him back in. What caused him most concern was trying to keep it quiet from me. He doesn't seem to have any trauma but the carers think his foot should be x-rayed.
I will ring the surgery tomorrow and see what they say about an x-ray.Also I believe they should know about that drain and bring it to the attention of the parish council as his is not the only electric wheelchair or buggy that uses that path. There could be loads of the old whatnots scattered about there!
