Had an accident with a wax strip this morning. As I held a small piece of it in my teeth my hair got stuck to it. My hair dresser has just been to cut the sticky mess out haha :-D |

Dizzi glad to see you, time to slay the dragons . . . I often think that friends may understand better than family as they are not as emotionally involved. |

Kim, no we are not all on citalopram. I am, some others are, some are on other tablets. Some choose no to use prescribed medicine. I came off my tablets a couple of years ago I had to go back on them. I don't know how I would have coped with my Dads illness and his passing last year. I now feel happy to take my tablets. If you would like to join us we often check in to reply. |

Generally I panic if I am under an unusual amount of pressure, even if it is self induced and deliberate. |

thanks tinkers, this sight is amazing. I've been around people who think depression is something to be embarrassed about so not a lot of conversation or encouragement. I don't think some people understand how to deal with someone who is depressed either. |

Do you have to be on citalopram to join this site. I have suffered clinical depression since I was a child. It was only in my late twenties after many attemps to self harm/suicide that I got diagnosed properly. Now I take a tablet every day and am so glad i can put those days behind me. I have tried to come off them at times thinking that I'm ok now. Has anyone ever gone off their tablets with success? |

Dizzi, Sorry to hear you have more problems but how lovely to have such good friends. It is the old you can chose your friends but not your family isn't it? Maybe you have always put up a front of independence with your family so they think you can cope without them. We are always here and ready to listen to you, you know that. |

Tinkers look at it this way.......you didn't have a set back, you have been doing very well and the big panic attacks haven't been happening as often as they used to. You have to give your mind lots of time to relearn what it used to know. You haven't always had theses attacks, and in the future with your teaching your brain, you will be rid of them. (I know this can happen, I used to suffer them). It was an attack that just popped up you might have more big ones, but you might not. Just let them happen, and when they do don't be frightened by them. They can not harm you. Think about what is happening to you as it happens. Breathe slowly compose yourself. You really have to give it time could be months, but the best advice is they can not hurt you, don't be frightened. xx |

Tinkers sorry to hear that, did anything particular spark it off? It is another week before you see the doctor again so maybe the tablets haven't quite kicked into your system yet. If you are no better when you go back he'll maybe adjust the dose again. Have you tried the Rescue Remedy? |

Liz hope you have a lovely break away from home. Steve and I are on holiday too, but not going anywhere. Hope to get a few jobs done at home. Days out would be nice but the cost of petrol makes me think twice! |

Hazel I am glad your son's bp is going down a bit, he will certainly have a lot more on his plate when the twins arrive so I hope he can get lots better before their birth. Happy 2nd birthday to the little on on Sunday, it's my spoilt nephew's 29th birthday on that day, 4 weeks to the day to my son's 29th birthday. Imagine all the years my parents waited for a granddaughter and two grandsons appeared in a month! |
