Ben I have FM and the pain is awful, that's why I have the morphine, plus the sciatica on top doesn't help and as Mary says it can be exhausting trying to cope with it all. I didn't know you could use morphine for toothache, it's a controlled drug and I wouldn't have thought doctors would give it just for toothache.
Going to bed soon, lets hope I wake up in a better mood lol. some hope.

Hi

I am on 30mg Paroxetine. I have been on the meds for 2 years now.

The sciatica must be quite bad Caz if you are having to use morphine to ease the pain.

Have any of you ever used morphine for a bad toothache or abscess?

Dear Caz, I wish we could zap your pain away sciatica is really exhausting.
sending warm hugs to apply (gently) to the sore areas,

Caz I'm so sorry but go on you can do it one more time. Kick ass though!! xx

Maxine nice to see you here. I'm on 40mg of citalopram. It really helped with my psychologist meetings, as without it I know I would have been crying my eyes out. I feel much stronger now than a year ago. I think it suits me better than prozac and some other widely used drugs.

Had a nice meeting with my friend this morning then I went into Debenhams to look round as there is a sale on. Got a couple of gifts for Xmas for people. xx

The morphine is controlling the pain Ann, and I have the quick booster morphine capsules for when pain is bad. I'm not willing to undergo radiotherapy just to zap the pain, the doc said I would be ill and it would damage my healthy tissue round the cancer site and I am ill enough without making myself more ill. It's so frustrating that they don't listen to you and respect your wishes. It would be different if radiotherapy was being used to kill the cancer but it's not.

I suppose I am feeling grumpy because I can't lay flat because of my back and had to yesterday, it must have disturbed one of my slipped discs because the sciatica pain has come back.

Oh Caz, it is just one thing after another for you isn't it? I hope Chris can sort things out for you. I can quite understand why some people eventually say "no more treatment", it seems never ending. however, if another scan means they will know how to control the pain might it not be worth gritting you teeth and going for one more? Can they give you a tranquiliser?

Hello maxine, you will be alright on Citalopram as it's not addictive. I used to be on it but my gp changed me to something else, most of the girls on here are on it though and it does work. I have had the counciling bit as well and it's marvelous, really got me sorted. You will end up in tears at first but that's normal, stick with it.

Can I have a grumble, or more likely a scream. I got a phone call this afternoon from the MRI department, she asked me if I could come in next Wednesday for another scan. I nearly flipped my lid but it wasn't her fault. Yesterday they did the scan without the dye as they thought it would show what they wanted. Oncologist looked at scans this morning and it doesn't show what he wants so I have to go back for another with dye.I told oncologist I wasn't going to have radiothery as they had told me it would only kill the pain but make me ill and damage surrounding tissue. I've just spoke to my doctor and she said to ring Chris on Monday as she can talk direct to oncologist and find out what's going on.
I honestly don't think I can go through with another scan, I touched the sides yesterday as I've put so much weight on and it scared me silly with being claustrophobic. I only went through with it as I wasn't sure who had sent me, it could have been Neurologist.

Will it never end?

Hello Maxine, there are several on this thread who are either on the same medication or have been on it or are on similar. so hang around until somebody responds. good that you are being sent for counselling as that is what seems to work for most people.

Welcome to our little group anyway, we are a friendly bunch and there is usually somebody to chat to.

I'm going for coffee with the lady I went to ballet with. The partner of a man I work with. Don't know her very well but she asked me out . No excuses, I said OK. A year ago I would have cried and not known how to get out of going.
But now I'm thinking a new friend. You have all helped me get here. The feeling I get from you all that yes, I am like able has been a terrific lift

I don't think you can ever really kill that dragon but you can put his fire out if you try.

Partner has been downstairs and the old man is a little ray of sunshine this morning.I think yesterday was all too much for him,a bit overwhelmed. It didn't help that I seem to have been a bit hormonal too.Last knockings I am pleased to say.

I always said that I didn't suffer from PMT or the menopause but I made very sure everybody else did! You must give yourself a little pleasure.

Mary,
You are certainly blessed with such a wonderful g.daughter.

Carole, the tale of your cousin's coloscopy is hilarious, just the thing to start off a bad day.The wind is stilll howling and it is raining. My daughter Sarah is going to get drenched when she has to cycle (45 mins.) to her appointment later on.Have to leave soon.Only hope the trains are running on time.

Gwen, that is a lovely, moving poem.It brought a lump to my throat.

Claire & Caz.thank you both for your p.m's, will reply later this evening or tomorrow, depending how tired I am.

The stairs at Sarah's place are dangerous, even she says this.Little Floris is 27 months, baby Anna was born on Easter day, so needs carrying downstairs.

Hope your day is better than the weather!

What a horrid day I have had today. Wont go into all of it but I will tell you what topped it off.

I constantly dust my chickens for lice and have been very good at it. We have had a fair bit of rain and lots of wild birds in the yard. I had to clean some brooder pens out and one had lice. I ended up covered from head to toe with the little buggers and I am also allergic to them, I had a shower and scrubbed and scrubbed and washed my hair 3 times. Had to take anti histamines and I still itch. So after dark I now have to go and put lice powder on every one again just in case.

If you do not hear form me I am too busy scratching.

Love and hugs

gail

PS I will wear my shower cap to the chickens tonight, probably scare them to death.

We really have had a very nice day albeit quiet and personal.
I was absolutely stunned by my little namesake, miniMary, who had taken all her savings and bought her Mum a fancy topper (which is several sizes too big but can be returned), and then bought me a pair of shoes I had admired and left the shop because it was more than I would consider spending. What a wonderfully generous child of 11. I told her Mummy I just feel sick that she would spend so much money, when she as yet has little understanding of good value. My goodness I'd normally get 3 pairs for that price.
However, the dear child had heard me admire them and wanted to get me something she was positive I'd like. She has saved for a year, pocket money plus earning money from reading, $1 for every 100 pages she's read. She started out reading for the money but has developed a love of reading as a result.
there's a reason I would normally have 3 pairs for the price. I bargain shop because funds are always tight - I'd normally check the price and worry about comfort later. These are like gloves and may convince me to get back to walking, in comfort.
What a wonderful child. I am so blessed.
Now I'm off to bed,
good night all.
