if you want to talk to someone you are more than welcome to my telephone number - I suffer from clinical depression and have done so for many years now but I'm OK as long as I keep taking the tablets - I'm a good listener - let me know |

I do hope you get the help you need soon, Gwen, it makes me so angry that help takes such a long to time to come. I am still waiting since mid June to hear about the case worker the chap I saw said I needed re my ocd. As someone said to me the other day, you didn't do anything to get the problems you have but people who are alcoholics or drug addicts get so much help offered yet they chose to start on their paths. I don't grudge anyone the help they need but wish the chances were there for everyone. I have been trying to get help over my ocd since 1994! So far I have had to find counselling for myself and waited years for that, and now having to wait again. Maybe they are waiting for me to die lol |

DIZZI glad to "hear " from you but sorry that depression has you in its grips again. So many of us can relate, I have been in a slump for weeks but not as debilitating as you sound, bless you. I do hope the psychologist will be helpful, especially hope you don't have to wait too long to see them. |

Yes, it is good that it is still going, although we don't have the same people posting. Hopefully that is because they no longer have a need for the thread. |

I'm so pleased this thread is still on the go cos we started it long long time ago now and I do think it has helped people to "come out" and talk about depression and other mental illnesses - they should not be brushed under the carpet, but talked about as with any other condiion, otherwise it is further stigmatised which is not good |

let's hope you get some help - and soon Dizzi - depression is an awful condition to live with, but with the correct medication it can be handled well |

David I chuckled at your phrase "magic butter", I remember the same application to my play wounds as a child. Apparently I tucked away the phrase in my memory as I now give my grandkids "magic honey" ie Manuka honey, for sore throat complaints. With good effect I may add. My 13 y/o granddaughter still asks me for 'magic honey' though she knows the correct name now. Wonderful 'magic' formulae! |
