Morning all,
Just a quick message, as I still have one of my son-in-laws here.He came back with my ex. and myself yesterday & stayed over.
Am not ignoring the other posts on here, but am in a bit of a rush.
Thank you for your good wishes Carole & Deanna.
Just want to share this with you all. My eldest g.child Indra finally gave birth to another son yesterday morning (5-4-09) at 12.55. Liam Aaron, not too sure of his weight yet, but Andrea told me 7 pound something. It was another emergency C-section after a far too long labour.
Have to stop. Will try post later.

We had a lovely weekend away. We watched the new Nicholas Cage movie "Knowing" and it was brilliant and very well done. We also went to a local club and had a great time. Not having to cook was great, though dinner on Saturday night was nothing to write home about, Lunch was really nice. Sunday night we had pizza, so something different. We both have very sore legs from walking on cement, which neither of us are used to.
Also went shopping and OH brought me 3 blouses at my favourite shop. Two of them were half price, so bonus.
Also went shopping for grandson, he is growing out of his little one piece suits, he has very long legs, so could not get these little suits in size 2 so ended up with pyjamas in size one, which are a slightly larger than normal, and they have little feet as well. We also got him a lovely little track suit for going out and some socks. That was great fun. I also got 3 pair of summer shoes/sandals for daughter at $5 pair, roughly 2 pound 40 p each. They did not have my size or I would have had some for me.
I also bought OH a DVD player for his birthday as the last one broke down.
Have not had a chance to catch up yet as have been a bit tired.
Carole, grandson is very well and growing so fast, have not had any new photos for a while so I am really hanging out for them. When I phone daughter she now puts bub on the phone and he tries to talk, blows raspberries and makes really strange noises. At least he now knows our voices. His other gran has been visiting again and she had a great time. Remember this is her first grand child and she is now 83.
Off to finish dinner, daylight saving is now finished so I am all over the place with the time just now.
Love and hugs
Gail

Hi, particularly to David. Some of this might be obvious to you, also I live in another country where some aspects of the health system are different. I think it is important to see a particular dr in a small practice. That way you build up a relationship with him/her. Big medical clinics (do you have those? ones with a changing cast of anonymous GPs?) are pretty useless for people like us. If the doctor doesn't seem to want to know about your melancholy, find someone who will. This may take time, but 15 years is too long to suffer and it's worth spending time finding someone who will take you seriously. I never count on my dr being on time, especially as some days are first come/first served, but NEVER allow yourself to be rushed. If someone else has to wait a little bit longer, that's tough on them but maybe your illness is more serious than theirs, and he/she can make time. I know my doctor ALWAYS measures my blood pressure, though with tablets it's been normal for years. If he can do it, even when I've gone about something else, he can listen if I need to talk. Hard, am I not??? Lastly, something I am not good at myself. When you're down, it is important to keep in contact with others. Some people can't handle people with depression or anxiety symptoms, but others can and if you get the brush-off try someone else. Kind regards, Colin.

Happy Birthday to Anna, hope a lovely day is had by all.
David now you have broken the ice by seeing the doctor get back to him and tell him the real reason you went last time! One person can only take so much. My oh saw our dr when he had tried to deal with too much and is now so much better. Change of job getting help for me and time to get over the death of both his parents. It all adds to the stress we carry. If you are tearfull tell your dr. Mine has a short questionaire to fill in which helps them diagnose depression. Easy!
Caz not long now hope it is all going smoothly xx
Deanna Tony will soon be home. Bet he has had a wonderfull time.
Tree Hunter glad you had a good day for your birthday
Colin it's good to see another man here isn't it? How are you?
Liz hope you are okay I haven't seen you much latley xx
Gail how are you? Hows the baby, when is his birthday?
Mrs Blue Eyes hope you are feeling a lot better than when you first come on here xx
Kathy Fogi that sounds a good name for me too xx
Thistledown love to you xx

Thistledown, Tree hunter, congratulations to you both.
Everyone else I am not going to manage a long one today.
David... You MUST talk to your doctor and if you find it difficult then ask to see a man. Sometimes the practice nurse is easier to talk to. But David DO talk. You are a VIP and you must remember that. I do agree that men are treated differently by the medical profession. Good luck and try again. X
Eileen a stir fry is easy... once you have done all the prep work... and so very tasty too. I hope they all appreciated it. and of course I have ordered a sunny day for Anna's birthday... enjoy it. O.M.G... don't blame me if it rains... I did ask. ha ha ha
Ann, so glad you enjoyed your holiday, now all the work starts, as you found out. The washing ironing, putting away... but it is worth it isn't it after you had a good time??
my son will be home on Good Friday.... I will be so pleased to see him home. I constantly hope and pray that he will make a full recovery. He has suffered enough bless him. Men often do get a raw deal from doctors... then they say things like. .. "men do not go to the doctor enough." In the experience of my husband and son... perhaps if doctors LISTENED to them properly..
Right. I have done enough moaning today. See you all tomorrow, hopefully, so look after yourselves and I will be back.... O.M.G.... tonight I'm Rambo (?) or is it someone else? Goodnight all. Deanna XXX

Deanna,
A sandwich would not be a good idea. Have bought a lot of veg, to cook a nice 'stir-fry' meal, which I do most days. It is soooo very easy and quick. Made a mistake, it will be a s.i.l plus ex. eating here tomorrow evening/late afternoon. I don't mind in the least, to be honest. I love cooking, not too keen on just for myself, but do most days.
It has been very sunny nearly all week, only today was it misty, should be the same tomorrow. Hope it stays dry for my daugher Sarah;s youngest child's birthday 'party', tomorrow.Anna was born on Easter Sunday last year, as some of you may remember.
Must get something ready for tomorrow.

Hi all
Thought I had better pop on here ans say I am back, such a lot of posts I have missed. I have read some of them but not all, too tired. We got home at 2am this morning the morning was taken up with shopping and washing - unpacked the cases this afternoon.!! got home at 2am this morning and I am shattered. The flight home was quite good until we landed. Boarded and took off half an hour ahead of schedule, landed early, then had to wait 20 minutes for an 'escort' as we were not up to a walkway and had to cross a short bit of road. In the end the pilot got frustrated with trying to contact someone and went off in search of somebody. In the end the co-pilot shepherded us across. Tony said to him 'all that training to be a lollipop man!!' He thought that was funny. then there was a long queue at customs. But by the time we had done all that the luggage was off. then we boarded a car park bus, only to all having to get off (unloading cases etc) and get the bus behind (poorly bus apparently). car started OK, then the gate out was congested, two people had not pre-paid on their tickets so had to leave their cars blocking the exit while they went to the office. Then the microphone didn't seem to work properly (tony has to quote his ref number as it is pre- paid), so then people were stuck behind us. Eventually got out and then the junction 1 of the M42 (the M5 link) was closed for resurfacing so we had to detour, we went down the A38 and rejoined the M5 at Droitwich. Eventually got home, but the car alarm decided to go off on the M5, (it has been doing this lately as we are driving and we can't solve it, most embarrassing!), we ignored it and it switched off again. We had a great time anyway, the weather was mixed, a couple of quite chilly days but still a lot of sun and we have a good tan. Just got to lose a few pounds now before we go to Tenerife at the beginning of May. Had the result of my mammogram, all OK thank goodness.
No point in trying to answer your posts so I will just say how very impressed I am to see your long posts Deanna!! and sorry that so many of you seem to be more down than usual at the moment.
Speak tomorrow.

Thank you all for your concern, its greatly appreciated. It isn't easy at all for a grown man to admit to his doctor that he has a "problem" that cannot be seen and demonstrated. A man would rather present a nasty rash than emotional problems.
It is cathartic to admit it on the boards
I went to the doctors, but she just looked in my ear and felt my neck, why ? because they were the only two symptoms I presented.
It didn't help that I was 15 minutes late either :(

Carole of course I took notes... you know what my mind is like since the stroke. I could be in the middle of a sentence and forget what I was talking about ... so a wee note helps. Just a small 'pin point' to get me going... you know that talking is my hobby!! ;-0) BUT, I have to admit a huge feeling of pride on my big message yesterday, and it took me ages. Had my hair cut today, and Suzann was so pleased at the improvement in me. all she knew was what Allan and Tony told her when they met or sent her in e-mails, and it has taken all this time for me to recover enough to WANT my hair cutting.... Well, I was standing on it... ha ha ha She gave me the time to recover and ASK HER . She knew that I needed the 'space' bless her.
David do make notes when you go to the doctors... especially consultants. Remember they can only work with what you give them and you ARE THE EXPERT on you!
Blue eyes, your eyes even SOUND blue today.... so you are feeling better? Good. X I have been on those 'pretty blue pills' too... amazingly friendly little things... I am not allowed to take them just now because of the 'kidney' problem I now have. Never mind, perhpas I will recover and all will be well again.
Eileen... a quick sandwich should do for uninvited guests. Oh boy can I be a bitch sometimes... sorry. But I have an excuse.... I'm a sick woman... okay okay I'm just a bitch. ;-0( Still, the way you are feeling just now, could he cheer you up? He still makes you laugh doesn't he? Good medicine laughter.
Well I have had enough now so O will have to say sorry to those I have missed but not forgotten. Be well and I will be back.. a little stronger? I hope so. Deanna XXXX

Bless you hun, I am feeling much much better, I didn't realize just how bad I felt until I started to feel better. I've been back to Docs and she says stay on the pretty little blue & white tablets for at least 3 months, then we'll see how things are with a view to weaning me off of them. I've been getting out lots and doing exercise and gardening and I think that is helping too.
I hope this weather is helping you guys to feel a little better.

Ohh I am still in my dressing gown. I could have fallen asleep at work yesterday afternoon, so when I got home (worked local) I went to bed, and had a good deep sleep before the phone woke me, I was too tired to get up and answer it, so didn't! Three times it went, finally I got up. Number to return call not available. ( Turns out it was daughter). Come bed time I wasn't tired so stayed up late. This morning I got up late!! I look a wreck!!
Deanna do you take notes? !! You are doing great.
Caz not too long now. Are you stressed or excited?
Colin good to see you.
David hope you decide to see your doctor
Liz you do sound low.
Mrs Blue eyes how are you feeling now the tablets are in your system? Hope you feel a lot better than when we first spoke
Gail I had acupuncture for sciatica too. My oh recons when I came out after first lot I practically ran. Slight exageration but it did help a lot.
Eileen I'm sorry I must have let your hand slip! Now I think I have a better hold, lets try get you up out that hole again. Push yourself to get out of this and it will get better xxx
Dutch how is Jan? Is he feeling any better? Hope so he has been poorly too long xx
Tree Hunter hope you soon get the move you so badly want.
Kathy nice to see you here again xx
Hazel are you feeling any better ?
My friend A at work is depressed, the cause is she wants to leave her husband. She works 16/24 hours a week with a bit of over time if available. How can she leave him and afford to get a home on her own on that? She is 58, so not much chance of another job. She has tried to get one!! Anyone know of any helpfull sugestions please Pm me. They own their own home so after a divorce and her share of their property and savings she would have money. Her daughter said she could go stay with her, but she lives out in the wilds so A couldn't get to work with no car.

My thanks to you who have sent me their kind words either in an e-mail or p.m or on this thread.Hazel, Caz,Deanna & Joyce, and Liz especially.
Have had some very bad news this morning, am still reeling. My closest friend received bad news herself, and the worst thing was, she could have had a tiny op. a year ago, but due to some VERY careless, sloppy' work by the g.p's secretary, it seems pretty bleak now.
Am beginning to feel I have the Midas touch lately. My aunty died in feb. 2006, an old friend a month later, then my other close friend in september of that year......
Sorry for not being cheerful, wish I could shake this dreadful feeling off.
