Hi folks, I only came on for a wee read, but find that i have to say something. WELL, you know me... talking is my hobby.
Hi David nice to hear from you and do be careful love. I am in an *almost falling state* this week. I just 'almost' fall nearly every day. It is terrifying isn't it? I have not fallen since the night before I Left hospital, and I certainly don't want to do it now. Be careful love, we certainly do not need any extra damage to ourselves, do we??
Carole... what makes you think that Dutch listens to me... I tell her and tell her, and I can almost 'see' her shrug her shoulders and carry on regardless. ;-0)
I have jsur started an earache, so I am off to bed with my heat pad... sorry folks.
See you tomorrow. IF... I could break through my brick wall (or forrest) in my tree I could take some time off for a nice chat with all of you. Love to everyone, Deanna XXX

Recovering from a severe bout of flu which persisted throughout April.
Had an accidental fall in the bathroom about 2 weeks ago, narrowly missed the WC pan !
Last week I over reached from my swivel chair while attempting to pick some thing off the floor, chair tipped and I fell heavily again, same side. Depressing !
While all this has been occuring my garden has become over run with weeds, something I don't usually tolerate. Have to start again.

Hi David how nice to see you pop in.( No one has to post on here). Let us know how you are will you.
Eileen you are sounding more positive, so thats a good sign. Have a good month with the birthdays, don't spend a lot, they know you can't afford to. (Who can with the economy as it is) xx
Deanna isn't it wonderful news about our Caz. You tell Dutch she has to stay sat away from her computer. You do have to laugh don't you?xx
Hazel are you okay? I haven't seen you about much.xx
Sharron has started a new careers thread so I know she is about and ok
I didn't tell you I went for CBT again Thursday morning. He asked how I thought it was going, I said I sometimes get home and think what a wast of time that was again! But looking at the hole picture it is making me focus more where the problem is. It's a much smaller time scale than I think. The trouble is my mind is taken over by it and it seems my life is taken over. Hope it works even a bit.

Being very superstitious,( that bl***y Irish side) I hardly dare admit that things are beginning to apear in a lighter shade than before. Thanks you Mary & Carole, I certainly hope to be able to say the black hole is either buried very deeply, or that I have been able to climb out and leave it as it was very soon.Miracles don't happen overnight, so must be patient. One step at a time, as most of us have to realise. It is my g.daughter Sally's 15th birthday tomorrow, her dad's birthday on the 17th, and my eldest daugher Andrea (the handicapped one) 45th on the 28th of this month, so a VERY expensive one.
It is still dry so far. Got a fright during the 'dark hours' when woken up (this is the second night I have actuall been able to sleep in a very long time) by a VERY loud noise.Turns out it was hailstones, ENORMOUS ones, pelting against my bedroom window, then the thunder & lightening. My daughter who lives two doors down didn't hear a thing, but then, they sleep at the front of the house, so wouldn't have, thank goodness. My greatest worry was for the tomato plants I put outside yesterday, after being cosseted for a long time on the back, very warm, sunny windowsill. Looked at them as soon as....nothing wrong, thank goodness.
Enjoy a peaceful weekend everyone, am off to cook.

Dutch lovely to talk to you. Steve didn't give me his puzzled look this time when he passed me the phone!! He has been saying to me to go to the meet, but I can't get there on the Saturday. Steve is at work and would have to drive me. I wouldn't drive all that way. I would never find my way home!! lol Hope your swollen knee is going down! xx And have you fixed the loo?
Clairejo I was just about to phone you yesterday and was holding the phone looking for my glasses to see the numbers and Steve got home so I put the phone down! xx
Liz how are you? Are you going to the meet in Liverpool? xx
Deanna where do you get all your email jokes from? I get them a dozen at a time from my sil some days. Most are total rubbish. I don't know why she sends them. Yours are better xx
Mary life always sounds so hectic for you. You are supposed to be slowing down!! Do you find it hard to relax if ever you do get the chance? Steve is the same unless he is watching a film he can't relax. Hope the fund raiser goes better than your expectations xx
Colin how are you? x Love reading your posts they are full of interesting chat
Ben good to see you xx
Anyone seen Sharron? Hope all is well for herxx
Angela are you okay? Haven't seen you for a few day now xx

Eileen glad to see your post, , can't be on her much either this week but hold you in positive thoughts and prayers. So relieved Caz' news is relatively good, we've been holding our breath, love and hugs to her. Dutch please take care of yourself, you do so much for others, now please look after you. Deanna, Liz, Carole, Uncle tom Cobbly and all . . . thinking of you. I'm going a bit crazy preparing for the Saturday fundraising tea. Why can't I think positive, keep expecting the worst . . . it's been a very busy, frustrating week, topped off by first Sarah having a prolonged seizure on Monday evening and ending up in the hospital for a few hours, then secondly Gareth had a big seizure the next day. Neither had had any for a long time so we're awaiting new medical appts. I've threatened everyone else that nobody else is to have a seizure . . . . My evenings are filled with work this week, thank goodness I'm off work tomorrow. I have discovered I have joints I didn't know existed this week, very rainy and foggy and everything aches . . . back to work . . . . Hugs to those who need them mary

Good morning everyone,
Sorry for not posting lately, am still fighting my demons, trying very hard, and am seeing a slight glimmer of light at last.
Thank you to all those very kind members who have been sending me p.m's and mails to support me and try buck me up.It IS good to know that people think of you.
The sun is shining today, always a bonus, after a couple of grey, miserable, drizzly days, chilly too.Lightens the spirits, doesn't it?
There are too many of you to thank or greet individually, but I am sending all of you my love and good wishes for peaceful days ahead.

Hi
Typical lol. I ordered 3 death certs last week from the GRO. One arrived Saturday, one arrived today but the one I am really waiting for is still in the post. Grrrr lol. That is the death cert of the above mentioned William Wilson who was buried on 30th April 1902 in Eldon. I know he would have probably died in April 1902 but I just want the proof. The death was registered in the April/May/June Qtr.
I am waiting for the cause of death, whether the address ties in with his 1901 residence and whether it says "Retired" or formerly coal miner as he retired in about 1886 aged 65 ish.

Carole, our weather is certainly warmer than yours, still in shorts an T shirt at 9pm but not as hot as when we were here in September. Very pleasant though and we are enjoying it. Sorry to hear about Joyce's accident, do hope she will heal quickly. Hope \yCaz can get back on here soon, must be frustrating for her. Ann Glos (Tenerife)

Well done for hanging on to the post long enough to keep it on the board and not delete it Deanna, does that make sense lol? And no, would have given K and T the books I mentioned to you before you were ill, about Russia and another one you sort of related to, so they were to pass on to you, not for her lol If I ever have occasion to do that I will seal them up in a parcel for you only!!! Don't want to die yet lol
Must go, just came on to check about Dutch as had a call from our Caz, she only hopes to be on in 5 days, won't know till it happens but she was worried about Dutch's news, having had a call from her at the peak of the accident, and then another after the hospital visit. Better go and start dinner, I have slept on and off all day, knew it was building up, the lack of sleep and caught up with me today but got disturbed by gas man ringing the bell, by the time I got down he had gone and left a card, but he had given the bell a hammering before that! More noise in the street later disturbed me again so not much good deep sleep, only when poor Caz phoned me and I didn't hear the phone! Catch up with you all later, love Lizxxx

Hi Colin, having a great time I see. Enjoy every bit of it Colin, sounds like the trip of a life time. AND... thanks for all the advice on deleting, but I really don't need it..... as you know, I can delete *all by myself*. lol
Ben my search in Durham is far more complicated than a straight search. My great granny (I did know her when I was a child) was born, and married in Bishop Auckland as Elizabeth Taylor. Somewhere along the way, she has changed her maiden surname to WEIR. I have all the certificates so I do know that her birth name was TAYLOR. I even phoned and spoke to someone in the Parish registry office, who sent me a copy from the parish (?)register office. So I have the proof. Why then does her name change on my Gr.Grandfather's and her death certificates??? Are these people out to get me or WHAT?lol So I thought if someone was sitting in there reading through the books, something may be found! A big job to ask anyone to do really.Just a thought though.
As far as the MARS sighting goes Carole.... put a bet on... A BIG ONE.... 100 to 1, you and I will not see it!! ;-0)
And Liz..... don't you even THINK about giving Karen any books. Tony and her gran and at times others in the family will buy her books. She hoards EVERYTHING. She seems to have an *it's mine* mentality. When it comes to books though, Tony and I are the hoarders. I do read my books and will give them away to charities such as Oxfam, the little library at the Diagnostic centre which will sell them. I also put some up in our unit where anyone who wants them can just take them at will. BUT. I read a lot so my people also buy me books. I need a clear out soon, so that I Can get to the books I Have not yet read. They have been told.... please buy no more until I tell you I need some. I will keep a book I have loved, or if it has meant something to me. We have a recess which Allan built shelves in to house our books. Not exactly high class... but then we aren't.
Tony's books are not fiction and are mainly political or religious. He is doing a diploma just now, but has always been interested in History which is how he sees Religion I think.
So.... my books are for entertainment and Tony and Allan's are for knowledge. SO LIZ.... dare give Karen any books and you put your life in danger !!! And I would hate to kill a friend.;-0) And Mary I understand your need to help a friend, but don't encourage her to walk into danger by giving me books! lol
A last minute prayer for your friend Carole. Bless her heart. Tea is ready so I will see you all next time. love Deanna XXX
PS... NO DELETES..... ;-0)

Hello all, I'm back. And back at work after 3 weeks holidays. For those who missed my previous report, I went to see my sister who lives about 700 km from me. First time I've seen her "new" house (she and hubbie moved in about 5 years ago. My 26 y.o. niece was also home for as few days from Darwin. She is a lovely, sensitive girl and I like her a lot. I had a few days at home and got rid of probably a binful of paper. About the same again to go. I also need to sort out my books and records, vinyl and CD plus a few DVDs. Some of the books and records are going to go. We have a council cleanup next week so some books and records will go there, but will probably be rescued by scavengers before they are picked up. I don't mind if they make a few dollars from them, as long as they go to a good home. Last week I fulfilled a long-held idea and went to Melbourne. I went on my own and played visitor for a week. I went on the day train both ways and stayed right in the city. Did plenty of riding around on the trams and trains which I admit are easier to navigate than ours, and significantly cheaper. On the other hand getting on or off a tram if you are disabled would be a nightmare (many of our Sydney buses and all trains are wheelchair accessible). Weather wasn't the best except Thursday but you take your chances and I'm not complaining. Fine drizzle rather than rain and if you can keep out of the wind ... On my own I didn't do fine dining, but went Italian in trendy Lygon St a couple of times and Thai in the city once. Good, cheap eats. I also went to see the musical Billy Elliot which I missed in Sydney. My GF saw it here with a friend. I would have liked to go to a concert or even opera in the great venues but nothing attracted my fancy. The Jazz Festival was on, but I'm not heavily into Jazz although one performance based on the music of George Harrison got good revues. On the less brainy side I went to the Melbourne Cricket Ground and its sports museum. It was the main venue for the 1956 Olympics and the 2006 Commonwealth games and the museum is well worth a look. I even got to stand on the edge of the scared turf. Of course it's footy season here and the ground was set up for that rather odd game they play in Melbourne where you get 6 points for a goal and 1 for a near miss LOL. Just joking. While it's not my preferred variety of football I admire the skills and general athleticism of the game. And it's never boring, which Rugby and Soccer can be. Deanna and others, I have found out how to delete a long post on this board. Just click the mouse near Bookmark, General topics, guidelines or Reply or any other part of the page except "Submit". And Deanna, I don't have a voice system but I know someone who did. It needs time to learn your voice and accent. Gail, good to hear you're picking up. For others, we are going into what we so amusingly call winter here, but since our houses and our clothing fashions aren't really suitable for very cold weather it can be quite bitter. Hazel (treehunter), taking the bus away happens here, too. It's always cost cutting. I drive, but prefer the train to the city. It's only about 6 minutes walk but the service is only every 30 minutes on my line off peak. On the other hand I went to a concert last night, then walked to the nearest station and got a train to the interchange for my line almost immediately. I then had a 26 minute wait. Always the same, and not a lot of fun at 10 pm. Oh well, beats driving and parking costs. At least we have trains till after midnight. Mystified, your son's obsession about his clothes doesn't sound too strange. I will send you a pm. Kind thoughts to all, Colin

I had a lazy day Monday, weather wasn't very bright or warm so stayed home instead of going out, meant I didn't get to see the exhibition of crafts again but not to worry, there will be others.
I have to be honest Mary and admit, I haven't actually got rid of any books yet, was just saying I could have passed on a couple I had mentioned to Deanna before she was ill lol
I do want to sort some out tho and only save those I will read again, about 50% of the pile lol, I will have to live to be a hundred and keep good eyesight to get through all these books lol
take care and hope things get better for you and for everyone,
love Lizxxx
by the way, be careful of what plants your cats chew, some indoor plants can be toxic to cats, you can google for lists.
