Hi David nice to see you. I think anxiety and foreboding are part of depression. How are you keeping?
Treehunter thinking of you in your new home x
Caz you can discus moving with hazel! Sure you will have lots to talk about. How are you today? x
Eileen I know you have been fighting a long time and your nails are all broken, but come on keep it up!! xx
Gail pm'ed you. xx
Kathy will send pics xx
Ann hope you are okay x
Mary, ....... never a dull moment at your house! Give yourself just ten mins! Get in the bath with a book, sooth those aches and pains, and let yourself have the cry you need to let off some tension. You will feel better for it. How much do you need for the dogs? I know pedigree dogs are expensive but with all the training too. I can't imagine, and you are having two! I hope the fund raising goes well and a fairy Godmother turns up with a suprise for you all ! xx
Deanna whats all this putting yourself down calling yourself an idiot lately? You are far from being an idiot!! You are doing extremly well. How are Allan and Tony? xx
Alison (oww, I have been bit, scratches arm) forgot what I was going to say to you now!!! Can only think of itch on arm!! Sorry. xxx
My hair dresser Claire, (who is my friend of 30 years daughter) had a baby girl this morning. How exciting. Had a few tears! Think baby will be called Molly Claire. Born by cesarian. Claire was suposed to be doing my hair tonight but we changed it to last week so it looked ok at the meet!! She worked yesterday, did a few hair dressing jobs for friends! Talk about working up to the end!
My daughters day off today so we will be going out looking for pink things!!

David - I agree with Ann, I also believe that foreboding and anxiety are manifestations of depression, it's a broad-spectrum type of diagnosis. Several of us have more than one symptom rearing it's head, in varied degrees of severity, at different times. Ann , believe it or not , I AM making notes for my book, I have several pages already but how to put it all together will be another story . . . . I also have a collection of letters I wrote to my parents when my daughters were tiny, there's more food for a book in there - I have notes my mother made as she was going to write a book about her father ( a naval surgeon who received the DSO for his actions in Crimean war) and grandfather (printer for William Morris) - then I have letters my 3xgtgmo wrote to my grandmother about 120 years ago about the Irish rebellion in the 1790's, apparently I have several books in their infancy . . . . Re the seeds, my best shot are the onion sets which are larger than the seeds, I can pick out beans and peas and squash but . . think the rest will have to be tossed. planted my little spirea today - hope it will thrive in it's new location, the buddleia has finally smartened up and looks healthy. A lady came by with her little dog this evening, just out for a walk, stopped to chat, seems she lived in this house as a teenager, about 30 years ago, and was happy to see it being cared for. I want to do so much, but aging limits my bright ideas!! Gareth and Em's classes have a day trip tomorrow, they are heading for both the bird sanctuary and butterfly sanctuary in Niagara Falls, please keep him away from the water . . . Off to bed now, Mary

I am no expert David like the rest of us on here but I am sure it could be. a doctor need to be asked the question really.
Mary, When are you going to find time to write that book?? I suppose in her mind Sarah was helping by getting the seeds out ready. Oh deaR, how can you rescue them without know what is what? But well done Sarah for taking a shower without being asked. Gail (((((hugs))))) for you, hope you get your problem with the insurers and contractors sorted soon. Carole yes Dutch is home.

Mornin', I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry - you know one of those days where I wonder - what else can happen - have had 2 falls in the past few days, the first when I catapaulted over a pile of tomato cages in the garden, the seond yesterday when the dog splashed water from her bowl, onto the ceramic tile floor, I didn't see it and went flying on the opposite side from the first fall. Now both hips are bruised and my shoulder & shoulder blade haven't recovered from the first spill. had a lovely afternoon yesterday - started planting veggie plants and seeds, it started to rain, so i gave one of the kids the box of seed packets and asked her to take them inside. never thought about them till I went upstairs this morning. All my lovely seeds are spread all over the counter, all mixed up, with the tops of the packets neatly cut off by Miss Sarah, apparently when she was up at 4am. Not sure how much i can rescue, as they were all in the sink . . . . I hate waste and all i could think of was how much the packets cost. However - Sarah did cut them very neatly . . . getting good at fine motor control - last evening for the very first time she took an independent shower, no prompts, no assistance, after 10 years she can bath herself. Then I went for a doctors appointment this morning. got the results of my foot x-ray - he described the bones as crumbling, with new evidence of gouty arthritis. several toes, plus foot bones affected, plus a bony spur on the heel. Gout no less, when I already have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and osteoarthritis in back and feet. Gout - in she who rarely has a drink - can't afford to drink, probably a good thing as I love white wine . . . . he tells me I should quit work - but we've agreed to try and keep me ' limping along' for another year. Not sure how much good further surgery would do in the long run. Sorry to complain, I know there are so many with much bigger probs than my aging bod - part of the problem is that i expect myself to do all I did 30 years ago, and the creaking gets in the way. I want to sit in a corner and cry, but haven't got time, too much to do. My son's g'friend emailed me this morning - she's been baking, and then selling squares , and muffins to her classmates for their breaks, she's raised $100 towards the dogs, bless her heart. We expect to have an 'event ' in the next month at one of the local popular restaurant chains, they will invite local celebs to serve, and donate a portion of their take for the evening, to the fundraiser for the dogs. They have a sports bar attached to the restaurant and there are no less than 7 professional NHL (National Hockey League) players who live in Welland and are home this month. he hopes they will participate, along with local politicians, etc. A local pharmacy has offered to donate items for door prizes, auction etc, also we've been offered 2 gift baskets from a Vodka company to auction, and Avon beauty products also. Have to get back to work, lots of laundry and gardening to be attended to. Hugs all round, Mary

Hi Carole, I to have fibrocystic breasts and does not help when they are squished, it will take a few days to settle. I do not think there is any benefit from removal as you tend to get more as time goes by. Evening primrose oil in capsules will help a little, but you need to take it every day. The breast clinic put me on to it. Also, try and get your bras fitted and not off the wrack as this also helps if they are supported properly.
I had the boss from the company for repairs ring me and I gave him an ear full, then his secretary sent me a very very nasty email back, so I am not finished with them yet. I have kept a copy of the email and will send it to the insurance company. So sick of all of this, they work on the kitchen was only done 3 years ago, and it is all 'blackwood' marble and tile and expensive, so feel I have a right to complain.
Love and hugs

Well donerGail for sticking up for yourself. It's not always easy when talking to people who you think know better than yourself. But you knew better this time. You can live without the threat of snakes thank you very much! Too right they should foot the bill for the extra work that now needs doing. Good on you Gail xx
Treehunter pleased you have got the move done and hope you will soon settle down and love your new home and surroundings.x
Caz have you got the pain sorted out now? x
I'm not worried about being left I can go back to clinic direct now within the next six months. I was just suprised that they didn't remove any of the cysts. My boobs are hurting now, they were squashed so tight in that mammogram machine!!
Love to you all. Is Dutch home now?

I would love to see Caz looking out her window with binoculars, give the neighbours something to talk about.
Nearly 10 months ago we had our kitchen flooded, we had no problem with the insurance company assessing the damage or paying up. However, the company they contracted to do the work has been a major pain in the you know what. The inside work was finally completed 2 weeks ago, the outside has still not been done. So, I got nasty and wrote a very horrid email to the company today. Whoa, did I get results and fast, the outside repairs will now be done next week. I have also written to the insurance company and told them what I think about their contractors. The said company also wanted their money before the work was completed, I had to tell them to go jump and the money would be paid when the work was done. I wonder if they will wait 10 months for their money???
We lived with the fact that snakes could make their way into the kitchen draws. I was very careful and worried every time I needed a saucepan.
We also now have more outside damage due to the weather. They, the contractors and the insurance can now foot the bill for the extra work.
I finally stood up for myself, people will take advantage when you do not. I do know this is the case but tend to let things ride, it then builds up and I let loose. I really need to do this more often.
I have complained when shopping and I am treated like an idiot or ignored, though it has to be really bad before I do. I will also put in a complement to management when treated well.
Finally, I am starting to feel a bit better, still coughing but not wetting myself as much. That is very demoralising. I must add it has not helped with my depression and I went under very quickly. Like Deanna, crying at the drop of a hat, do not know why, I would cry then get upset that I was crying and cry some more. Vicious circle.
It also does not help that I hide when so down, that is a cycle I really need to break. try to reach out instead of closing in.
Love and Hugs
Gail

Sorry all, not been on much what with the holiday (4 weeks), when I was on occasionally and then getting everything sorted once we got home. You should have seen the garden - or perhaps not! What a jungle!, then 5 loads of washing, ironing, all the unpacking. Now the house need a good clean, it is never ending. had a meeting this morning so now have the minutes to do and then there is the Swansea meet at the weekend so that is another night away.
Glad you enjoyed the Liverpool meet liz, yes I had to ask people to stop sending me funnies when I was away as they blocked up my in box. Sometimes there are just too many if people send them out en bloc to everyone in their address book. I find I get lots of duplicates too.
Caz, sorry you had such a bad weekend, what a shame that it spoiled your anniversary too. I would really complain as it is not on. Glad you are OK now though. Treehunter, pleased that you have moved at last, hope you will be very happy in your new home. Gail, sorry you have been poorly lately and hope you feel better soon. Joyce if you are peeping, lots of love to you, come back to us sometime - love to Toby too for looking after you! Carole, g;ad today went OK, if they were worried they wouldn't leave you so stop worrying now.
Deanna you are not at all thick. I wonder if it is one of your tablets that makes you cry easily? Have you asked the doc?

Great for you Treehunter, at last, hope you settle in quickly and get sorted faster than we have. Good luck in your new home. Gail I haven't had a look at the Bower birds yet, I got sidetracked and the afternoon just went. I saw you had been on the bird thread, you will have to tell us about all the other birds you told me about, it's really interesting finding out about birds from far away when you are a birdlover. I found watching birds soothing but here if I get my binocs out the house opposite will think I am looking at them, so better not. Spend more time watching and regain your strength, leave the swearword, it can be done later. I am feeling a lot better now I have my tablets but it was awful few days.
Love and hugs

Hi Caz, so sorry you had to go without your medication, really bad management on the doctors part. It is difficult to get in to see the doctor here at times, but they will always organise a prescription when I am getting short. I would hate to not have mine when I am desperate.
You are also right Caz, I need to do more of my bird watching as it is very soothing and has helped to no end today. I had been watching a pair of Wedge tailed eagles over the river today with binoculars when I happened to see the bower birds.

Oh Gail, I am so jealous, I would love that. It is something to make you feel better and keep you resting as I know you love your birds. Have you read any of Ann of Glos thread on birds? It's really interesting and you could tell us about your different types over there. It's 'do the birds know something we don't'. Hope you are feeling a bit better today. The heat here is terrible for me, I am on some tablets (cancer so I can't come off them) that causes me hot sweats all the time. Over the weekend the radiators on both staircases in the sheltered housing block I now live in, got stuck on the highest setting. The heat seeped though the whole building. Warden was away for the weekend and the care team look after us but they couldn't do anything about the radiators. I was ill all weekend with the heat plus I had no morphine as I have said on here before. Warden sorted that for me yesterday as they still hadn't done my prescription from last Wed. She had rings round with doctors and chemiist on phone, and went for them herself in the afternoon. My doctor should be coming today, she was due last week but was away, and I'm going to tell her it's not on. She has barred me from going to surgery itself saying I'm not able to get there safely, but if I could go there would be no problem with prescription. Sorry to ramble on but it has upset me so much, I've had a horrible weekend, such a bad time for our silver wedding, I was too ill to do anything.
Love and hugs to all.
Caz xx

Just a quick hello to you all and apologies if I have not responded to calls, messages, pms or emails etc, I had so many jokes from various people my box was full and I had made a very special effort to leave room in case I got a response from anyone in Liverpool, I had a message put in the paper trying to contact any relatives of my Gt Uncle who stayed in Liverpool when he fell in love and got married, he was a Stone mason who was apprenticed to his dad, my Great Grandfather, and together they worked on Liverpool Cathedral as well as Chester and many other places. I am really tired with all the travelling in the heat and one night in the hotel there was a lot of trouble from some members of a stag do, and they had to be evicted in the morning because of the noise and damage they had caused. We were woken almost every hour on Sat night so disappointing as hotel was nice otherwise, rooms overlooking the docks and the water. My love to you all as you fight your demons and celebrate your triumps. Will catch up later, must get to bed

Gail sorry you are not too good, you have had a lot to put up with lately haven't you. I'm thinking of you and sending good thoughts to help you get better. And a big hug.
Carole glad today went well, as Deanna says they wouldn't leave you that long if they had seen anything. Bet your glad it's over though. I hate them with being big on top, don't half hurt.
Deanna yes I am a 'nice peeps', makes up for being thick, I'm not really, only where computers are involved.
Alison, this thread has worked miracles nearly for a lot of people, we can all be open and talk, and it does help to talk, we help each other through our problems. What I like is that we were all strangers, now we are one big cyber family, holding hands around the world. Magic.
Someone asked about Joyce, can't remember who now, but she rang me a couple of weeks ago and is doing ok. She is keeping on top of things and going out on walks with Toby. It was so lovely to hear from her I had leaky eyes, she might be back when she feels she can post again. Until then she still reads this thread.
Love and hugs to all, time for bed for me, I haven't slept for days now.
Caz xx
