Just a quick visit to say hi to all.

Hazel, sending you hugs as it comes closer to the anniversary of the loss of your mum, I hope you can find something nice to do in her memory.

Hope everyone is ok, I laughed when I read about the stilettos lol, I didn't wear them a lot but still have a couple of pairs I bought in the 80's. I stopped wearing heels when I met o.h. cos he is only the same height as me barefooted and I didn't like towering over him. Went against all my natural instincts to get involved with someone shorter than me - silly me! I loved all my heeled shoes but can't wear them now with arthritis in one toe and my ankles and knees. I do have some smart heeled shoes for posh occasions, it doesn't bother me now if I am taller than he is lol
I know several of my friends who wore stilettos and later on had to have ops for awful bunion problems, luckily my feet managed to resist those.

Hi everyone, Not been on here much as been busy with doing family tree for others as well as my own.

Been away with my mate for the weekend to do with her Harmer family, went to big meet Saturday and then on the Sunday went into Eastbounre to do bit of grave hunting.

Now i am feeling very low as the 14th is a year since my mum passed away.
Was coping very well untill today. I want to go somewhere to remeber her but at the moment dont know where thats going to be. Went to the house where she and most of the kids were born last week with a brother sister in law and one of my sister.


Just like to leave {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{[HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}]] to anyone who needs them.

Hi Colin, mine was in the bowel too and was December 2001. I was in hospital for my Tony's 30th birthday.
We gave his friend Lisa, who got married last Saturday, money for a cake and dinner at a local restaurant..... He was livid!
I loved it, it is my responsibility as a mother , to embarrass my child.... ha ha ha , and I am sooooo good at it.

Hello all, just a quick word before I check on Aussie Sue's thread and then beddie-bye time I think. Up at 6 am tomorrow.
When I was young, equally young women in stilettos always looked beautiful. Still do, in fact.
But I must take issue with you Miss/Mrs Carole! Old men with gout? I get gout. In my big toe. I am not THAT old, surely. Apart from the usual tablets my extra medication is an extra glass of water or two. Seems to do wonders. My father used to get gout in his knee and it became inflamed and painful.
Glad you hanging in there Liz, lovely to see you on this board Eileen. Dutch Hazel seems to be too busy gadding about to write to us. Gail, hope the flu is much better, not to mention the boil.
Deanna, wonderful news. While I haven't had cancer, brother in law is one year on after bowel cancer and Denise (GF) almost 6 years. Her last one a secondary melanoma in a lymph gland in the armpit. She is still struggling with other problems but still hanging in there. Latest threat is possible heart arrhythmia. We sometimes think we are just a pair of old crocks who need each other.

Oh yes I remember stiletto heels all right, used to love them, only wish I could wear any shoe with comfort now. Four nights a week we were out dancing, my mates and me, I lived for dancing back then.
I wish I didn't have to go back on them because oncologist took me off them 18 months ago because my feet were too bad. They were purple and red and blistered, then the blisters broke and skin cracked, and I got a nasty infection and ended up with a bandaged toe just like those pictures you see of old men with gout. In fact I had to have intense care from podiatrist/ chiropodist who is still working on them now. It affected my hands as well but if they blast the bugger into smithereens I am ready to give it another go.
Going for a lovely long soak in a bubble bath now, lovely.

That is what to do Carole, remember the stiletto heels. We walked for miles.... with a smile on our faces, and we were SO DAMNED CRIPPLED!!

Rooting for you Caz.Stllettoes give you sore feet too and I bet you persevered with them in your time.

Think of it as beneficial stilettoes and you are stabbing the bugger with the heels!

Yes folks, it is good news although I was always quite blase about the whole thing. How I would be if it happened again, i do not know.

Hi all, not on for long but wanted to say to Ben, so sorry to hear about your uncle, but at least he is at rest now and out of pain.

Deanna, wow, what fantastic news for you, I am so pleased, bet if you could you would be dancing round the room.

Don't want to say to much but I have to have two scans week after next, my Macmillan nurse came yesterday and upped my morphine again. She said she had a letter from oncologist that told her I would be going back on chemo when the results of scans come through. It will be the same tablets that made my feet too sore to walk on but at least they worked.

Hope you are all ok, I can't mention everyone by name but love and hugs to you all.

Not here for long,I do have other people to annoy you know!

Today I did something really hard.I made the old man try to put his own coat on.That was the hardest few minutes watching hm struggle but I relented in the end and put it on for him.

We shifted the kitchen round at the week-end to make room for a new freezer,and that is another story in itself.This made the tumble dryer accessible to the old man and,happy days,he now does all the washing.Result eh!

Make the most of this until the novelty wears off!

No Ann, it was yesterday and we went for a meal in a country pub.... Tony Allan and I.
But it was so great to be told to go away and don't come back!!!

I just don't have enough time in the day to do everything. I am so slow these days.
My biggest news is that I have been discharged from the cancer clinic.... best news I have. Everything else can wait until I have the energy to type more.

You are right Carole, it IS expensive, especially when there are 5 children (mine) plus their partners, nine g.children with their partners, and four g.g.children, luckilly no partners yet, thank goodness.Lol. I only buy something small for the little ones, especially those that live overseas.

Haven't read through the many posts yet, so am not up to date with everyone, but wish you all a peaceful weekend.

February is my busy time with cards but as the kids got older we agreed to stop presents as it got so expensive. So I only buy for those under 18, or my own kids now at birthdays and Christmas. The others I can buy a little gift if I see something any time of the year, when I can afford it.

After work Tuesday and Wednesday ( when I also drove 42 miles) I ache and felt so tired yesterday when visiting Dad in hospital that I told Mum we had to leave half an hour early. It still was another hour before I got home. Had a sleep on the setti. Had been to CBT in the morning and looked round a local shop to price up new cotton bed sheets, but didn't buy.

Today so far I have had a lie in and sat on computer, watched tv and showered. Must dry my hair now.

Another long while since my last, very short post.

August is a very busy time where birthdays are concerned.Have had to buy 4 lots of cards and pressies so far.

My youngest and her son celebrate their birthdays this sunday. My ex asked me to go together with him, can't really refuse.Second youngest daughter is going with her husband, I would rather go with them, but....

Liz, you asked me for some tomato seeds for next year.I willd ry some and send them on sometime.They are cherry tomatoes and a new type called Milanino's.The latter could only be bought directly from the farmer who 'created' them-don't know how you call this, maybe 'bred'? I bought one small tray of them and dried the seeds.Have had soooo many tommies, litterally hundreds.

Sorry for your loss Ben, it is always very sad when a loved one dies.

Am still battling here, just try take every day as it comes though.

For all of you who are also fighting your demons and also dealing with ill-health, I wish you all courage and peace of mind.
