Sorry haven't had time to read up to date.
Both Uncles called tonight they are going to the hospital tomorrow (roads permitting) to discuss Louies leaving hospital. ( I have to work, but will have to see what the roads are like in the morning, and whether our manager will change us to a nearer location.) If I work nearer I hope to be able to attend the meeting. Did I tell you all she had fell twice? She said she has to get home as her husband hasn't been well lately. He's been dead years! Poor Lou.
Had a text from Joyce she has been to get results of xray. Hips ok but back not good.
Had so much time on phone tonight with Mum uncles and a work friend who is ill, I didn't get round to answer Joyce by phone.
Roll on week end!

Sharron, please write a book about your Dad, he is wonderful! He should be held up as an example to other people of his age and afflictions. An inspiration for us all, altho some of us don't have a Sharron to escape from lol
Deanna, you too have been a star and it's enough that you can keep in touch with people and do so well.
As for Gail, whatever else has happened to you, your o.h. must be the best thing ever, bless him, and hope he can continue to share the joys and not too many sorrows with you for years to come. We should make him a medal!
Ann, I cancelled yesterday my dental apptmt for today and have just cancelled the optician apptmt, I just cannot face going out in the cold and icy roads in case I fall again so will wait till things ease up and rebook. My retiring optician is apparently around for a couple more months so will get a chance to see him again and thank him for all the good treatment for my late parents and myself. I am going to hibernate! I hope your mouth will heal well and feel lots better soon.
As for our Mary, hope the EMG goes ok and some solution can be found for the numbness and hope the journey to work isn't too bad, and you wil be ok. Wrap up warm even if you end up looking like the Michelin man!
love to all Lizxx

I don't think the cold snowy start to the year is helping. although it may knock out a few bugs. And it doesn't make any difference if you are rich enough to pay for a grand cruise. I was reading about a couple who paid £10,000+ for a cruise to take in Christmas and new year when many of the passengers went down with the Norovirus and this couple spent three days over New Year in their cabin.

Well I came on to have a chat but you, my friends, you are all suffering so much.
I wish I could do something for all of you, but of course I can't. I have been in some of your places, and being just another human being, I am sure I will be there again. We have so many peaks and troughs don't we.
I hope all becomes easier for us through the year.
I can't find anything comforting to say to any of you, but I do hope for a little ease in all your lives. God Bless. Deanna XXXXX

Oh Gail I don't fancy your snake issues . . . have all i can do with the snow which is still falling and to continue off and on till Thursday. of course chose this week to take some work shifts, when driving is worst. I never learn. Have to have an EMG this afternoon which I am not looking forward to, and then go to work. Not sure if the EMG will provide any solutions or just 'like it or lump it ' answers. More than half one hand is numb and painful, can't open things at all now between that and the other thumb which was torn a bit when Sarah got glass in her foot. Falling apart at a great rate. lots to do before work so can't stay on here, just wishing health and wellness to all of you . Please look after yourselves in this horrible weather. Sharron I love your Dad's determination to keep on keeping on. Hope I remember when I'm 90! hugs from across the frozen pond. mary

Enjoy all your spoiling this week, it will be a great treat to have your hair done and to go out to dinner, how lovely of you OH. And enjoy the film, I believe it has had good write ups.
I have a sore mouth at the moment, courtesy of the dentist who extracted a tooth this morning and did a deep clean of my top left jaw at the same time. Never mind it will heal eventually I am sure.

It's very cold here today.Too cold for me to go out because I don't have to. But then again, I am not a ninety year old stroke victim who had a new hat with ear flaps for Christmas am I? Yes, he's been out to buy the eggs and the veg. Silly old sod!

Thanks Liz. OH has sore ankles from climbing the ladder, so no ladder work today for OH. Should not laugh, but he is so funny when he walks. He has been brilliant and worked very hard. He also hates painting, despite that has done a great job. Also no more stamping of feet or tears,
I am really blessed with my OH. Not a day goes by that I am not grateful for him.
Love and hugs

Dear Gail, you will deserve your lovely surprise hairdo and dinner out after such a lot of hard work. Thanks to your hubby for looking after you so well and sharing the hard work too. Hope you have a lovely time and that you find the curtains etc you want. The colour for your hair sounds great, how I miss having dark hair and wish I could use those colours now, so many to choose from compared to when I could have used them!
Snake proofing, omg, I would hate to think of snakes being able to get in a room, scary stuff that!
lots of love my friend and to all my pals

Yesterday was spent putting the final dark coat of paint on the walls, it took 3 coats as such a dark colour. Finally, the room was also snake proofed. Yes snakes could get in, they do not need much room as they flatten out and can get in through the smallest gap or knot hole in the floor. Must say it will be a great relief in summer not having to check the floor before getting out of bed. A few years ago a neighbour entered her bedroom to find a snake curled up on her bed, a 6 foot brown. When it was disturbed it slithered down a gap in the floorboards and under the house. Today we are giving the timber trim work a coat of varnish.
We are both tired, so are having a day off tomorrow and going away to see a movie, "Avatar", we are both SiFi fans. Hopefully we will have enough time to find some curtains as well. My lovely OH has booked me in to have my hair done on Friday, having some foils, a trim and a French Braid, the trim is because I can now sit on my hair, but it is very uneven and needs a tidy up. A great surprise!!!! Then he is taking me to dinner on Saturday night. Yes I am lucky. Oh! the foils will be a very bright burgundy, great for my mousy hair colour.
Next Monday, we are again going to try and get the carpet and maybe curtains if we do not have them already.
Our Y/Caz has hurt her back. I do hope she is feeling much better today. Gentle hugs.
Love and hugs
Gail

Carole, please let someone else take part of the load, you don't have to do it all. You won't be any good to yourself or others if things pile up too much. Please get some rest - thinking of you all, hoping for brighter days ahead. Please tell Anita that we are thinkng of her too.. hugs Mary

Oh dear, this year is not starting well for some of you/us.
Carole, I thought your Aunt had been fairly lucid lately, but wonder if she is becoming dehydrated or has a kidney infection as that can cause confusion to come and go I think. You must step back a little, and let some of the other visitors help take responsibility for her as your priority is your Dad and yourself. Also you will want to support Anita so take things steady, and try not to get too worried. Did you get any Rescue Remedy or other things I suggested before? Do try it when you start to panic because of overload. I hope your Dad will be better soon.
Gail, just give yourself a slap on the wrist and continue with your decorating, and try to rest in between altho the bed isn't that comfy. Maybe if you try and think ahead to when the room is finished you will feel more positive and less weepy, again Rescue Remedy might help.
I am sleeping a lot at the mo and have a busy week ahead while I may not have the use of the car if the weather is bad for o.h. to get to and from work, bearing in mind he would have to cycle home at 10pm when any bad weather is at it's worst. I have a dental apptmt on Tuesday pm which is overdue and I forgot to arrange the other apptmts instructed to me before my holiday so starting over. On Weds I have an optician apptmt which I want to have done as after that my optician who knew all my family optical history is retiring and I want to get him to check my eye after the fall before Christmas. My head is still a bit tender altho the headaches are few and far between now. I intend to make a doctor's apptmt for later on Weds after the visit to the optician about the vit d jab and the bang on the head, and to get a tetanus jab too which is also long overdue. Want to tick off lots of lapsed things and start the year off well.
Something a bit spooky just happened, I recorded The Turn of the Screw the other evening and started watching it intending to finish watching the recording this evening, but o.h. told me I had missed the ending due to the recorder being full (what does that remind you of, lol, my email box?) I watched The Cider House Rules a little while ago and then went to watch the rest of The Turn of the Screw and got to the bit where it stopped recording - obviously some way from the end! Darn and double darn! Just switched back to the tv and found I was watching part of Turn of the Screw again, a bit I had already seen yet I had just deleted the part recording. I realised that Turn of the Screw is being repeated now so will go back in the lounge in a minute to watch the end that I missed earlier. Now if that isn't a bit spooky, I don't know what is!
Hope everyone will have better days ahead, both with personal problems and family hassles, and with the weather. Snow etc forecast here but ok at the mo altho very cold. Take care, and will get back to you all later, you have all been in my thoughts and I hope we can all stay supportive through this coming year, as has been in the past.
love and hugs Lizxxxx

Carole you have so much going on at the moment, no wonder you feel overwhelmed. It is just so difficult at times like this to find a bit of me time, which is what you need to do. We are all here for you, but then you know that, but it would be nice to be able to help and support you for a change. You have been there for all of us, so maybe now we can be there just for you.
Well painting had a set back, some of the paint did not set properly. Yes it was my fault as the prep was not done properly. Some of the wall needed to be painted with boncrete (type of glue, watered down, seals the plaster) first then undercoated where there was a moisture problem, before the outside of the house was sealed properly. The boncrete had gone off and was out of undercoat/sealer, so in my wisdom thought it would be okay, NOT. So a great section on two walls had to be stripped back, sanded, sealed then undercoated again. Have just put the first layer of paint back on the stripped section. Keep fingers crossed XXXXX. I also had a mini breakdown and a good cry, stamping of foot and all. Not a huge thing in the scheme of things, but enough to set me off. Tiredness and pain did not help. Plus I want my bed back. OH is sleeping in the spare room, as small bed, while I am on the pull out bed in the back room, mattress is not good for my bones. So, whine over.
Take care
Gail

Well Auntie is still not out of the woods. My cousin (her nephew) went to see her this afternoon and the Dr was with her. Taking blood tests. She fell twice this morning and banged her head. Now taliking about getting home to her husband who died about 15 years ago. A printed message on the wall she told my cousin was a good photo of me and my family!! The DR said she is very confused! I have never been to medical school and could have told them that, and did when she was in the first week! Now my Dad is poorly as well. And our dear friend Anita who has cancer of her pancreus is also very ill now. I hope I will cope. Already feeling a bit over whelmed with it all.
I am of course still holding you all in my heart xx

Just a quickie to wish you all a very Happy New Year, lets hope it's better than last one which I think was a bad one for nearly everyone. Liz sorry you didn't have a good night last night, I did, I watched the soaps and went to bed, woke up by fireworks going off then went straight back to the land of nod. I'll phone you this week but don't know the best time.
It snowed overnight and is still coming down with the sky full of it, hope it doesn't last long like last time, we still have most of it.
Love and hugs to all
