I know the topic has gone in a different direction but I wanted to share...

I am Chloe. I've been a sufferer of depression and anxiety on and off for 14 years now and I'm 26. Currently in a low patch and have been signed off work since the end of January. I desperately want to go back to work.

I've been on GR for quite some time but have only recently come back. Family history keeps my mind occupied, and it seemed to help last time even though last time wasn't as bad.

Hello!!!! Where have you all gone, spring must be arriving and you are all out enjoying a change in weather.

Me? I have been sulking and nursing my sore foot. Before Liz gets to me, Yes I have been to the doctor and had X-ray. (thus the sulking, hate doctors) I did not break any bones, but did chip one and it is still b&%*$$y sore and hard to walk on. Bruising is going and it was such a pretty colour. They way I am walking I would even swear I had been on the drink.

Weather has been very mild here and cooling of a night, about 12 c for tonight. Just hope the frosts keep away until my pumpkins are ready, they were late to grow this year so another month frost free will be just right.

Off to shower and hopefully and early night as need sleep as foot has been keeping me awake. I have also left my heavy pain meds alone, so probably serves me right. Yeah Sharron, I can hear you from here scolding.

How is the new washer going, hope he of the left hand wheels is having major fun.

We have had a very busy time, and I have hardly been near the computer.

Just read back a few pages tonight. Thinking of you all and looking forward to getting back to normal whan my aunts is sorted out. xx

Yes Ben that is what I meant.

Thomas and his brother Robert Musgrave both had a son in 1856 called George. Cousins. One registered and one not.

Thomas and his brother Nathan both had a daughter in March 1871 and called them Margaret. Cousins. One almost not registered.

Thomas and his brother Henry both had a daughter in 1854 and 1855. Both called Jane. Cousins. Both registered.

Even though they weren't given same names this time Thomas had a son Thomas born 30th August 1857 and Robert had a son Henry born 20th August 1857.

That did happen all the time in family trees.

Ann when you say strange coincidence do you mean that Thomas and his brother had a son each in 1856 and one not registered and Thomas and Nathan had a daughter each in 1871 and one almost went unregistered?

When I first started on my tree,many moons ago,I thought my ancestors,William and Mary had had several children and then not had any for some ten years or so before having some more.

It was,of course,their oldest son,William,who had, coincidentally, married another Mary who was producing this family.

Hi Ben, a lesson to you if you have a family, give them unusual names and register the births in time.

Sharron, hope the new washing machine keeps your Dad happy for a bit so he doesn't get up to any mischief lol

Gail, is your bruise like my name lol Hope it heals soon and don't go tripping down the wombat hole! Seems funny to think of you coming up to winter in a bit as we go towards summer and sunshine I hope.

My family tree is coming along fine.

Remember my recent story about two namesake cousins born about the same time as each other George and George Musgrave born 1856 to two brothers Thomas and Robert?. One George died and one didnt, one was registered (Roberts) and one wasn't (Thomas's) well not all births were registered back then and the registrar had to tour the district making notes of new births.

Maybe he knew of a Musgrave birth in the village and didn't realise there were two and forgot to register the other birth. 15 years later In 1871 Thomas Musgrave and a brother Nathan both had a daughter born in March 1871 and gave them the same first name, and Thomas registered hers late and the superintendent registrar had to sign so almost a repeat of the George saga where one wasn't registered.

It does seem that the Musgrave siblings liked to call their children the same forenames if born about the same time and same sex.

Then he will have to train us in case he wants a day off.We all had to be properly trained on the last one.
This one spins faster too so we will have to watch the wonder of that.

The builders will be here next week too,they will probably need supervision.

The auto washer I had before the new front loader was 25 years old and second hand, when it gave up the ghost. Trouble now is that everything is throw away or just too expensive to fix.

Sharron, imagine the fun he will have with the new washer. New shiny buttons, new programme to work out, will keep him busy for ages.

Told you I would be bleating this week didn't I?

Today I have had to buy a new washing machine,before the freezer is paid for.Printed circuit gone which would have cost almost as much as a new machine and it is so important to One Hand to have some washing to do.

Liz, I feel so blessed to live where I do (most of the time) the wildlife is spectacular, we have a wombat that has been coming in the yard lately, huge thing it is as well. It has dug a very big hole under daughters caravan and another fairly large one next to a tree. It has broken the wire into the vegetable patch and made a mess. Not much vegs this year, masses of pumpkins though. So pumpkin and bacon soup for winter. We do not need a wombat cave in the yard either, so have to start closing the gate and try to deter it.

Have a lovely bruise appearing on my foot, really nice colour, pity it hurts so much.

Sometimes I think things happen all in a row, not in threes but in clumps. I think at times to let you know that life is not so bad after all, and luckily the things that have happened to us in the last week will heal.

Hi Gail, oh you are having some problems, don't they usually strap the broken toe to the next one or something. Do take care and watch out for the cats, intuitive as they are, don't want to hear of you tumbling over one.

Your o.h.'s wound sounds very sore, hope it will heal ok eventually. My o.h.'s scar is already fading where he had the mole out and no contact from the doc so we have to assume no news is good news, as that's what he thinks they said, we will only contact you if there is a problem with it!

The birds sound lovely in your trees, I am happy enough with our pair of robins and the blackbirds and bluetits, some starlings will be about again soon and the noisy collared doves too.

Lily great to see you again.

Had a shocking night, think I have cracked a bone in a toe, know from experience that no point in going to the docs other that the fact he will either confirm or not that I broke it. They do nothing for toes. At least this time it was not the little toe, it usually cops a beating. Bright side to everything. I do not wear shoes inside as easier to walk. Well before this I walked like a drunken sailor, would hate to think what it looks link now, Do not know why I hurt the other foot on the bed end, it is a king size bed and I had no reason to be down that end of the bed, I will put a covering over it so does not happen again.

OH has a very ugly hole in his back and it is still very infected, he is not well and the infection spread about 3 inches all around the wound, so going to be a slow process healing. You can see where the silver patch affected the wound. I had to dress it for him before bed and it was very funny trying to get it on. Where there is a will there is a way.

Cat is back in the good books today, I was having a rough day yesterday, and now feel that is why she was under my feet so much, she is very loving. Collars and bells do not go well with my cats, they do not chase birds or wildlife. The cats used to cost a fortune with collars and I found in Autumn and all the leaves were gone cat collars with bells festooned the trees. I will just have to be more aware when they are inside. Usually, they just come inside and sleep.

Think of everyone, and hope Mary is on the road to recovery, also love to our Caz.

Edit: The Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo has now arrived in the neighbourhood, they are a large bird with a very strong beak (could cut a finger off with one chomp) they come every year, they feed on pine cones nearby and gum nuts. They are also very noisy but a joy to watch as they are very social when in a flock. Not as many this year, but they are also earlier arriving so hopefully more will be arriving. So more fun bird watching. It amazes me that one flowering gum tree in our yard will feed so many things, from bee to birds when flowering, then again when the flowers turn to nuts. Some parrots come into the yard for the wattle seed as well.

Lily, I have been thinking about you and hoping you were ok, so sorry you have had illness to cope with, do take care with the kidney problems. I am sorry for your sister with the M.S. and how sad that your cousin was so low he took his life, what a tragedy. Is it his dad with cancer, must be hard to cope with all that going on.
I am glad your family are getting on better except the o.h. what a silly man!
You take care love, and will talk with you sometime.

Gail, maybe you need to get your foot checked in case you have cracked a bone or something. Can you hang a thick blanket or something over the end of the bed so you don't hurt either foot again, while in bed.

Maybe you need to get bells on collars for your cats so you hear where they are, don't want you having any more nasty falls.

Hi, Liz, Carole, YCaz, Dutch, Eileen(Claddagh) Claire, Gail Deanna, MaxiMary and anyone that i have missed or forfotten to include it has been so long since i have been on here but when computer is not kicking up read the thread.Did not renew for awhile when my membership went after Christmas.
A lot going on here at the moment, son is starting to return to the land of the living after a year and a half of severe depression.Daughter not going with boyfriend and is much more like the person that was before she met him.Still drinking but not as bad.Still no jobs going that she likes though.Hopefully goods vibes will continue.
Trying to do my farthers side of family tree, and also someone elses with same surname am sure that we are related but cannot get there, we both are the only families with that name in both counties in 1911.Both names intertwine in the counties then and were Church of Ireland and R.C.
My hubby thinks that all his birthdays have come together since he retired with his money (retirement) i am going to let him until it has all dried up and then let him pay the everyday bills.
Bad news cousin shot himself at Christmas time two days before his 26 birthday, father is dying of cancer. My sister was diagnosed with M,S, i was with liver decease, cannot drink tea/coffee because of Kidney/bladder problems either. Never drank n my life.

Fretting about the washing machine so I have to unblock the filter or I will never hear the last of it.

Hope you feel better soon Gail. 16 degrees sounds pretty good to me, ours at night is anything from -2 to 4 or 5, daytime not a lot warmer. I have a heavy cold so am indoors with the heating on.
