Well he gave everyone a scare yesterday..................I visited and he was really sleepy and talking nonsense, the doctor said it was a result of the 6 hour anaesthetic.

A bit later, daughter number 2 was with him when an alarm went off and everyone rushed to his bed....................poor daughter watched in horror as they attached an ecg and put a mask on his face while trying to find a vein to take bloods.

Husband ,meanwhile is smiling sleepily to himself, full of morphine and happy thoughts!

Turns out his oxygen levels had dropped really low..........................a result of a shallow and slow breathing rate.

Daughter had rung me and I dashed over there to find husband in a chair, still grinning to himself in morphine-land and our poor daughter being comforted by a nurse........panic was over by then.

My husband then informed us that he wasn't worried as the same thing had happened when he was on a morphine pump after breaking his ribs a few years ago....................he is now on a different painkiller, so should be alright now.

I slept like a log last night..................feeling much better today.

Just rang the hospital and he had a good night, though still in a lot of pain, but not complaining.....................thank goodness he isn't a whinger :))

I really must buckle down to the dreaded h*******rk this morning before I disappear in dust and dog hair!

I plan to play loads of cd's and dance my way through it..................my husband doesn't share my taste in music, so I will make the most of it while he's in hospital.

I am so pleased that it is over and he is on the road to recovery. Brilliant news as well, amazing what they can do these days.

Kitty - what you like!!!!!

My friend has crohns desease and had major ops which left him with colostomy bag temporarily - as far as l know there were no probs like that.
He's had it reversed now and as far as l know, all is well:o))))

l'm sure he'll enjoy all the attention, although l'm sure he'd rather it for a different reason.
