think all the Kardomah's closed years ago - we had one in Queen Street in Cardiff - they were coffee shops and they sold those lovely little chocolate cakes wrapped in cellophane - Kunzle Cakes - remember those?

just googled Kardomah, and it is the cafe that Dylan Thomas frequented with his friends, it was in castle street, but was flatened during the war, and was rebuilt and is still there today.

Kardomah - rings a bell - I think its a cafe in Swansea - I think it is still there.

Karen,am a bit older than you,and have lived in N.Wales since the early 60's,so I am talking quite a few years ago.Wouldn't know the places you mention,but daughter would as she lives in that area.
Bet you don't remember the Kardomah Coffee place,just along from Lewis's,going towards Corporation St?

Anyone from Manchester remember Henry's store on Market St? not as classy as Lewis's,but used to get some real bargains especially in their china dept,in fact still have some small china plates that I got from there!

c & a was my first job when i left school in 1961
hated it i weighed about 6 stone and we all had to wear black dresses had red hair so looked like a black matchstick Lol
you had to be called by your surname and as mine was smith they called me by the name of the street i lived on
