Oh lots of memories here! I remember Bellmans wools in Norwich so they must have been a chain, and who remembers the International stores? We had a women's clothing shop called the InScene, think it was the one that became Chelsea Girl! I used to go and buy a skirt and tell my Dad 'it was only £1 10 shillings', (£1.50 now) and he would say 'only?' I think at the time I was earning about £3 something a week! |

Pauldens in Manchester, I visit an old lady who reminises about that shop, and Lewises everytime I see her, also about how she used to sit in the gardens at Piccadilly and eat her butties at dinner time. She cant believe it is all concrete and fountains now. Hasnt been down there in years. |
