Thank you all for my beautiful birthday cards. They are all on display in my lounge and are much admired. I took them to show my 91 year old Mother-in-Law today and she asked me to tell you that you are all "clever clogs!" :o)
My two cardmaking grandaughters (aged 9 & 10) examined each card in minute detail and have invited themselves here at the weekend to have a "copying session"! ;o)
I had a lovely day surrounded by my family. My 2 daughters and my daughter-in-law laid on a lovely spread at my elder daughter's house - and I had 2 birthday cakes! One even had sparklers on :o) and the other was in the shape of a hedgehog. There was just enough left to take a piece to M-in-L today after all the grandchildren (and my brother, the biggest kid of all at 56!) had had their share.
Thank you all again
Sue xx

Hi all, Thanks for your messages and advice. Today hasn't been too bad as pain goes. Our postal service at the moment is terrible, having to rely on housewives to sort and deliver mail. Our post has been coming at around 4.00 pm. I was getting worried as the chemist closes at 5.00 pm. Well I have the tablets and have an idea they are the same ones as I have had before. What with these and the cranberry tablets I should be better. Anyway I have promised to go out shopping tomorrow as the neighbour on the third floor is non too well and her husband had a stroke some time ago so like to help whenever I can. The weather forecast is not very favourable though so don't suppose there will be many stalls on the market - gale force winds etc.etc. - a bit like you in the uk are getting. Nice to share our weather isnt it??????????????? My trusty help in the house came today and we did some extra jobs. It is liking having a third daughter as I can say anything to her. I've made lots and lots of cards now so if anybody wants to buy some they can. Have some things to sort out now whilst I feel ok. It is surprising how behind my paperwork gets when I am not feeling well. Have a nice evening. Sylvia xxx

Hi all, I hope my new prescription comes tomorrow in the post from the urologist as I have been having really bad pain. I've never cried so much in pain. I've also got some cranberries to take. I was drinking cranberry juice but somebody said I should take the tablets so I am. I will try anything as I am that desperate now. We had a shower of rain here today but I didn't go out. Johan went to my granddaughter but I didn't feel like going. I would like to have gone as she is going away for a week to Eindhoven to celebrate Carnival. She will understand. I can phone her later this evening. My help is coming tomorrow as she couldn't come today. Next week she is havig a small operation on her knee so will have to take another girl. I've been making heaps of girls, from "birth of baby" to "condolence", "get better" etc.etc. keeps my mind sane! Sylvia xxx

Anne, that is the problem with some crafting bits, if you have the time to shop around you can always find them cheaper than QVC, only difference is that QVC allow you to try them and then return so for something you are not quite sure whether you would like it is then a good way. Create and Craft charge so much P&P that it only pays to buy from then when they have a craft day with free P&P, must admit I stocked up on the last day with glues and tapes.
That was a lot of cards Heather. But then again I know I made a 200 for 2 different charities and 50 Christmas cards for charity, plus family, friends and of course the Birthday Girl cards!! so not as many as you. Everyone have a lovely day, so sunny here at the moment, hope it lasts for a bit.

HI, all,
Ginny welcome, enjoy our chatter.
Sue - happy birthday
Jill - have a good holiday.
Sylvia, sorry to hear about your latest troubles, I hipe your granddaughter gets her scooter back (I had a scooter when I was 18ish, but couldn't keep it balanced, it was too heavy. Motor bikes and scooters -and indeed cars - were for males!)
I watched QVC, and didn't fancy the TSV, too much of the wrong things. I bought more than I intended, including the bow maker, which came with a 'paper crimper' and I have one of those. However, before opening the bow maker, I happened to browse the Lakeland catelogue, and there was the bow maker and staples for £14, instead of the over £20 I paid QVC. Not surprisingly, the QVC bowmaker has been returned. Next time I watch, I will have the Lakeland catelogue to hand!
Love
Anne

hi Sylvia my books are in most rooms in the house. OH doesn't read books so any book shelves have my books on them, including the shelves in his office.
Sorry to hear about the scooter being stolen. Not just a UK problem then? Hope she gets it back or they find who took it.
Hope Johan is very relaxed now after he has his new chair.

Hi all, First of all, have a lovely holiday in Canada Jill. I wonder whether Jill will contact us from Canada? Nice to have you Ginnie. We can't see you type, so you can take all day! Ann, Whenever did we buy crafts which we needed? I think I could go for years now without "needing" anything. My flat is more like a shop now. Ann, why "your books" in "your husband's" office? Nice dry day today so went out on my scootmohile and found a few bargains. Found some lovely little plastic baskets for 0,50 cents each, with handle, which will be useful for my bits and bobs. However can they make something like that for 0,50 cents? Johan's new relax chair came today so he put it together and is now doing what the chair says "relax". I hope they (the firm) keep their promise and pick up the other chair which had the zip covering broken. My poor granddaughter had her scooter stolen. She was visiting her girlfriend and came out of the house and found scooter gone. Poor Linda is a hard working young girl and this is quite a blow to her as she has to go to work now by bus and this means getting home a lot later too.Why cannot some good for nothings keep their fingers off other people's property? See you all tomorrow. Sylvia xxx
