Hello Girls
A big `Thank You` for my Birthday Cards, they were all lovely and I really enjoyed opening them all.I had a lovely Birthday and finished it off with a bit of `Retail Therapy` which I enjoyed as I have had a virus that has lasted nearly 4 weeks and really put a damper on Christmas and the New Year.
Hope you are all well and thank you again.
Love Carole

Sorry you have not been well, hope that you are now feeling better. Horrible time of year for all the bugs isn't it?

I wont join in the ATCs thanks, not at the moment anyway.

Hope everyone is OK and not suffering illnesses.

Morning everyone, I sent out yesterday details of our new member Nadine and an up to date spread sheet XL and word. Can you please check that you have received it and let me know. It helps us to know that we have the correct email address for you.

I really do not like it once the decorations are down, as you say everywhere looks drab, still will get used to it again soon, well I hope I will. If not might start decorating again!!!!
Hope you are all OK.

We had terrible gales last night and torrential rain, then it all froze solid!!

glad you found us again sylvia. have you book marked this thread? While you have it open click on bookmark this at the bottom of the list on the left hand side. Then to find us you just click on my book marks and it should be there for you without having to go all the way down the pages.

I bought myself some deep pinky mauve tulip today for the same reason as you. everywhere looks so drab when the decorations are put away.

Hallo,
At last I have managed to find this site. I know now that I am still sane. Had my doubts for a little while!!!!
Johan's cough is getting better. Actually sounds exactly like the one I had when I came back from England last October. It also lasts so long.
It is so nice to be reminded of one's own birthday on this site. Good job they don't add our age, as I don't want to be reminded of that at the moment.
Well all the Xmas decorations are now packed away. We had the usual little quarrel whilst doing so. I had packed everything and the other half thought I had packed some little envelopes etc. of his so unpacked everything again. I was livid, to put it mildly. I went out shopping and lo and behold everything was tidied up when I returned. How empty everything now looks. I treated myself to some beautiful white roses and pink tulips to take away the emptiness.
The poor Xmas tree shed all its needles over my sitting room floor. Fortuntely my help Anita comes tomorrow and she can vacuum the room and also clean the windows. Almost Spring in the air when you hear the temperatures are so high.
I have sent an e-mail to Nadine, but will reiterate what others have said and say "Welcome to the friendly bunch of girls". As I was saying to Johan, we all call each other by our Christian names and don't think about ages!
Glad you are on the mend Jill, get moving now with your cards.
Sylvia xxx

Happy birthday Carol hope you have had a lovely day with lots of cards.

Welcome Nadine, hope you enjoy your time with us.

We had lunch out today too Sue only we went to the pizza Hut, mainly for convenience as we were in that area having several errands around there after meeting friends for coffee at a garden centre.

Hi girls
Welcome Nadine. I'm new myself but have found this a friendly bunch of crafters!!
Have just come back from lunch with 2 friends - had tappas. Never had them before, but thoroughly enjoyed them - didn't do my waistline much good though.
Have just ordered a wedding scrap book kit from QVC. Am going to put one together for my daughter as a surprise (she's not having a photographer, so all the photos will be those we take on the day).
Can't wait for it to arrive and long to get started on it, but that won't be until the end of Feb at earliest. Never mind, will have to content myself with card making in the meantime - what a hardship!!!!

Jill, pleased to see you back and that you are felling a little better, flu is just awful, people who say they have flu and are still going to work, do not have flu.

Welcome to the group Nadine.

Happy Birthday to Carole hope you have a lovely day.

Good morning to you all, its good to be out of bed and feeling almost back to normal again.
What a great start to the New Year and all my crafting goodies still waiting to be played with!!
Must get this months cards made and posted as will be a little late, wish that I had kept some in reserve.
Have lots of catching up to do and we are off again in three weeks, will need the holiday. The trip to the UK, Ireland and Isle of Man was too hectic to enjoy, will not be doing that again in a hurry. Luckily, only one of the ferry crossings hit gale force 8/9, managed to sleep through the other four crossings :)))))

Sylvia, sorry to read that Johan is unwell, hope he is felling better xxx

Must go and get the rest of the decs down as started yesterday then gave up. Luckily in France the twelve day thing does not count :)))))

xx Jill

Speeches???????? Hadn't thought of that. Spose I'd better get my thinking cap on.
By the way - when I went shopping with my daughter I had the same trouble as you - so ended up going today on my own. I'm much better shopping on my own.
Just come back from the auction and managed to pick up one or two handy little things for very little money - now that's the kind of shopping I like !!!

Nadine, have sent you an email.

Sue lovely to see you posting, I am sure no one minded at all you had only just joined us.
A wedding in Vienna, sounds lovely and giving your daughter away, I found it daunting just being the Mother of the Bride!! Does that mean you will have speeches to make? Nice that you got your outfit on the first shopping trip, wish I had, everything I liked my daughter didn't! Still sorted it all in the end.
Your auction for unwanted Christmas presents sounds like a good idea.
Hope Jill and Sylvia and of course Johan are all OK
haven't seen them around for a couple of days.

Hi Sue, nice to 'speak' to you on the thread. Don't worry about the cards you didn't send, not all of us sent to everybody. It is nice to see a variation of styles though isn't it? Mine are always very simple compared to some I received.

Lovely to have a wedding to look forward to, and in Vienna, and with you giving her away. I am sure it will be a wonderful day!

Hi everyone.
Haven't posted to The Birthday Girls before, but joined the group shortly before Christmas and was wonderfully surprised to receive so many lovely cards from you all. Thank you so very much. They put mine to shame.
I had all my family over this Christmas and had put all my crafting stuff away - so couldn't make any more to return the compliment - but assured, you are all on my list for next year!!
Just thought I'd give you a bit of news: my daughter is getting married in February - in Vienna!! AND I'm going to give her away. How's that for something to look forward to?
Bad part - had to spend today traipsing round the shops for an outfit. Got one - thank goodness - got the bag and hat to match, as well. All I need now are the shoes (the ones they had to match the outfit were like winkle-pickers - anyone remember them? - and I'm afraid I'm a bit long in the tooth for them now.) Still, sure I'll find some.
Well, got to get ready to go out to my club tomight. We're having an 'Auction of Unwanted Christmas Pressies'. Anyone get any of those?
Speak again.
Sue

Hi Nadine, you would be most welcome. if you hang around a bit Jo, our coordinator will contact you and let you know what is involved. There are actually 30 or so of us in the group, some on GR and some on FTF. We used to all be on here until some left GR 18 months ago.

Even if you choose not to join we like hearing from other crafters so please feel free to post on this thread.

Hi ladies. chilly today isn't it? Sunny here at the moment but it was a bit drizzly this morning. Must make a few cards, I have 7 to make for Jan/Feb not including the Jan birthdays that I have already sent.

No sign of Jill, I hope she is OK, i think she had flu the last time she was around.
