Hi all,
Well the last guest has now gone. What a hectic few days I have had and I'm knackered but happy. Even my grandson and his girlfriend turned up today. He is such a busy lad with his work as a cook and still at school 1 day a week. His mother complains that she sees so little of him so feel really privileged.
Even though he has a girlfriend, I still get a kiss and a hug from him. He is 21!
See you tomorrow.

Morning all it is very wet and windy here again today, and so cold. Will have to go and put the heating on again, there again might just light the fire in the sitting room, nice and cosy.
I am trying to catch up on my card making, have got a little behind over Christmas but I think I really need to sort out all my crafting bits they are in such a mess since being packed away for Christmas, especially as OH helped put them away!!!!

Hi girls,
Well I had a fantastic birthday in spite of Johan's nose bleed. He had an unsightly long black thread hanging from his nose all day. We have now taken this away this afternoon and removed the prop. Hey, ho bleeding has stopped.
The biggest surprise was when my daughter walked in with an old friend of mine. I had mentioned on the phone that I hadn't seen this friend for a while and would love to see her again. Although she is 82 years of age and drives a car, doesn't like driving as far as I am. She is still very active and cycles a lot. She looks fantastic too. We have had so many good times together and many laughs. She used to have her own house in Spain and we've spent many a holiday with her and her husband, who died a few years ago.
So I had an extra guest for dinner. I made a casserole of pieces of chicken wrapped in ham, inbetween the rolls of chicken pieces of tomatoe and then a herb sauce over and topped with lots of grated cheese. I made this in a foil tray which was easily disposable afterwards. I served French garlic bread, cucumber salad and a lettuce and tomatoe salad with it. Oh, I had homemade tomatoe and vegetable soup to begin and apple strudel ice cream to finish. It was like old times having six of us at the table.
Tomorrow I have two sisters and laws, two brothers in laws, ex son in law and new wife and grandson to visit. Another full house. I have made three cakes and a large pan of soup. I don't know who will be staying for dinner, but have plenty of bread rolls and fillings in house. Of course there is always the Chinese restaurant I can phone in an emergency!
Thank you girls for all my birthday cards, you are so kind to have paid so much detail in making these cards. I love them.
Am feeling a bit tired now, so will say goodnight.

Very cold here too, ice on the car window this morning but no rain. In fact extremely bright sun which with the wet roads makes driving hazardous. Nice now I am indoors though.
Just bought a new scrap book maazine so will be reading that later.

Morning all, well we had snow last night after the torrential rain we had all day, so thank goodness it soon cleared and then we had a frost this morning. Just wish the weather would make up its mind. Lovely and sunny at the moment, but very cold, just how I like it, at least it has stopped raining.
Hope everyone is well.

Happy birthday, Sylvia, I hope you have a lovely day.

I trust that Johan is feeling a lot better, I used to have nose bleeds as a child and they firghtened me, but weren't nearly as bad as Johan's.

Welcome, Nadine, we are a happy bunch.

Jilll, glad you're feeling better

Sylvia have a really lovely birthday.

Glad the card arrived safe, you just never know with the post. I need inspiration to make different styles of cards, mine are mostly the same.
Hope Johan is OK and he doesn't need more blood, it makes you feel so weak when you loose such a lot also affects the blood pressure.

Jill glad to see you up and about at least you managed to get out and buy some bargains. We could all do with ski jackets here it is so cold again.

Like you Ann when I cleared my kitchen out completely, it was surprising what I found!!

Good evening to you all from a very wet and grey Maine et Loire.

Sylvia, hope all well with Johan and that tomorrow is a good day for you.

Been down to Angers and managed to get a ski jacket in the sales with 30%off, we are all ready now for the holidays. It was my first time out since New Years day and was good to get out.
My friend is coming round tomorrow for a crafty session, need to get my card stocks up. Been looking online for some more bits to go with the Cuttlebug, its never ending !
hope everyones keeping well and sending a hug to all that need one.

xx Jill

Hi all,
Well Johan slept in a chair in a sitting position all night after Linda (granddaughter) brought him back from the emergency surgery with a prop in his nose.
I phoned the doctor this morning because the prop had not helped and his nose was still bleeding. A couple of years ago he had the same problem and they kept him in hospital for 5 days.
Anyway the doctor sent him to the ear, nose and throat specialist and one of my neighbours took him. I went out shopping and when I came back found Johan had also returned home.He has now a prop of 10 cm (last night the prop was 5 cm).We will have to have his blood checked as it is only a few weeks ago that he had to have extra blood and now he has been losing blood again.
I won't be posting tomorrow LOL
JoJo you make beautiful cards so the inspiration is definitely there. Sometimes I begin a card not knowing exactly what I am going to do and it turns out well.

Hello everyone, got on here at last. Broadband has been down all day until now. Think it might be the high winds caused it or something?

Anyway, almost finished a page for the scrap book of my granddaughter, pleased with it so far. Written a couple of letters and emptied and taken down kitchen shelves prior to decorating. house is now in a state of chaos downstairs. found lots of little spice jars (half full) to throw out. No smell and past sell by date. They were buried under other jars etc. on the shelves. washed everything so it can go back up as soon as the wall is dry.

Better get on now. Hope Johan's nose bleed is better Sylvia.

Hi Nadine, nice to see you posting here, hope you are well.

Sylvia, how is Johan today, hope his nose bleed has stopped and he is not feeling too washed out.

Carole pleased to hear that you had lots of cards and that the virus is now getting better.

Why do I have no inspiration for making cards, think someone should organise a course for giving inspiration!! LOL

Hallo all,
Well here I am alive and well. Every day I receive a few birthday cards, all exceptionally well made. I wonder whether I will receive 30? Who knows.
Johan has had a nose bleed the whole day and my granddaughter Linda has taken him to the doctors. Linda came to borrow our car for tomorrow as she has been posted to Hilversum for a day. She is learning to be a manageress in a shop a bit like W.H. Smith in England.
I had been telling Johan all day to go to the doctors but he didn't, and now I am pleased that Linda told him to go too.
Johan is now back and they have put a prop in his nose, but it is bleeding through the prop. Will have to contact the doctors again tomorrow. Now we have no car either.
I suppose it will all sort itself out.
See you tomorrow.
