Morning Heather and Jill and all other ladies looking in (& gents of course but they don't do they?). A very dark damp day here, many roads in Gloucester closed but mainly down by the river this time. don't think there are any houses flooded. very miserable out though so staying home today.

Jill, hope you can get all the gear packed OK. Remind me, where are you skiing?

Good afternoon ladies.I managed to pick up some embossing powder and paper flowers when we popped up the road to get some chicken feed. We only have avery small craft section but sometimes there are some good bits to buy.
We are counting down the days to the holiday and am surrounded by skis and ski wear. Need to get it all packed next weekend then its just the normal clothes to sort out.

xx Jill

Hi girls, just back from town, had OH with me today so had to be a bit restricted in what I bought craft ise as he knows how much I have here in my 'office'. still one pack of football toppers from the works, a couple of bits from Buyology and another couple of bits from wilkinsons so I am happy.

Afternoon girls,

Ann I know what you mean about the craft stuff, I'm terrible if I go to asda, always have to put something in the trolley :)
Nice to see you back Sylvia, hope your hubby gets sorted at the doctors, he is suffering with his nose bleeds isn't he xx
Atc's - all suggestions for forthcoming titles gratefully received.

Hi all,
Ann, have you been spending your household money on craft goodies again - good for you!
Girls, it is just old newspapers on top of the cuphoards and obviously they will get greasy and dusty, then throw them away and put some more up there - simple or not? You see I don't like housework either! Much sooner spend my time making cards.
I have never seen a cuttlebug machine yet, but on the internet can buy some cards reasonably priced and finish them off to my own liking.
Johan had another nose bleed this morning but it did stop. He didn't take any blood thinning tablets. He had to see the ear, nose and throat specialist this afternoon, so the nose bleed came at a good time!
Yesterday we were at the hospital for echos of our hearts, so I didn't want to go with Johan again today. I find it so tiring, especially as I am going through a phase of getting up at 4.30 am. When you know I go to bed at 1.00 am then you see I have very little sleep. I frightened the poor nurse yesterday when she was doing my heart echo as I kept dropping off to sleep, and she had to keep shaking me.
Have at last finished my ATCs for February. Am anxious to know the title for the next lot.
Have a nice evening everybody.

Afternoon everyone,
Just been to tesco to do the grocery shop, funny how the patterned card and packet of gemstones (87p) fell into the trolley! They have a new children's craft centre with lots of bits that can be useful to card makers and scrap bookers.

Yesterday I finished a page for the scrap book on my eleven year old Grandson. I changed a couple of his photos to black and white and was really pleased with the layout when I had finished it.

Morning everyone, no rain at the moment, sun was shining but even that has gone now. Just got back from taking dog for a walk and we are both muddy! How, I ask myself as we walked on the pavement and road, back of my jeans are filthy, as it wasn't raining I didn't wear my wellies, what a mistake!
Sylvia love the paper on top of the cupboards trick will try that, cleaning the top of the cupboards is the worst bit.

Morning girls, well the sun is shining here this morning, lovely :)
Ann I have the same problem with the top of my cupboards, I won't stand on anything higher than a chair lol, so hubby does them twice a year.
Sylvia do you mean the embossed cuttlebug card?
I'll send you some, I've only got snowflakes, script and swirl. The cards will only be small tho, as the embossing folders are small.
Sorted some pics out for scrapbooking, just got to sort papers out now :)

Hi sylvia, so you have bad weather too, not just us in UK.

thank you for the newspaper tip, I will remember that one. Hope hospital trip goes OK.

I spent the afternoon doing a page for my scrap book. This one was of youngest grandson (eleven). He is football mad so I didn't have a problem with what to put on the page.

Hi all,
Ann, try putting newspapers on top of your cupboards and then all you do is replace these when they are dusty and dirty!
Grease is the worst thing in the kitchen.
Well went out shopping today and got caught in the rain and newly blown off my scootmobile. Thought I'd take the short cut home and found a lorry blocking the road. He said road was blocked further so I had to go backwards and back to my original route.
Caught up with some dreaded ironing - six of Johan's shirts. Apart from getting dinner that is really all I have done. Tomorrow it's back to hospital again for echos (sort photos I think).
I wish I had a cuttlebug, but think they are so expensive. Have found somebody on Marktplaats (like EBay) who sells 10 cuttlebug cards for 1,25. I then can finish the rest of the cards myself.
See you tomorrow.

Evening everyone Hope no one is under water!! It has been torrential here all day, but having said that it has just stopped. Quite a lot of flooded roads, but we are quite lucky as set quite high up. Only problem is our house is built on an underground stream and we have a natural well in the garden, closed over now but would hate the water to rise too high we might just float away!
Jill have a lovely time in Canada.

Yes Ros, I didn't realise it had changed names! I agree that it is not as good quality as mirri board from say QVC BUT at 12 1/2p per sheet it is excellent value especially for matting and layering and lovely colours.

hello everyone. i do envy you Jill hope you have a lovely time in canada.
Anne, sorry to be dumb, what is the in store shop?
Sylvia as usual your food sounded lovely. glad you enjoyed your birthday.

Jo Jo, Heather hello.

So far today has consisted of me emptying shelves and helping OH empty tops of cupboards in the kitchen as we reach the last stage. had to do it piecemeal because there are so many shelves with ingredients, spices, cookery books on that there was nowhere to put stuff when we emptied the shelf. I now have a large pile of cookery books, many of them hard backs ready to take to the charity shop. I had so many as I used to collect them but if I am honest I always use the same two or three or don't use one at all. I still have two and a half shelves of cookery books left!!

And.... you can't imagine the cobwebs and dirt that OH found on top of the cupboards. I can't reach up there with safety even on step stool and we can't see it so it doesn't get touched ugh!!!! he had to scrub the side over the cooker and hob as it was grease as well as cobwebs. Hope my Mum is not looking down on me she would NOT be pleased!! still it all smells lovely and clean now.

Sylvia, your birthday sounds great fun. I'm pleased Johan is a bit better.

I have posted on the 'other place', as today I was at the In Store shop and they are selling mirror card, flourescent card and reconstruction card (don't know what that is!) at £1 per pack, or £1.79 for 2. I got some last year andit came in very useful for matting and layering, It is cheaper than anywhere else, and although not top quality, it is useful
