I can see your point Colin and Debbie however I still feel *some* premises ought to be able to cater for one or the other or even both. Some pubs have two floors, the upper floor, with good fans/extractors they would be ideal.
And what of the *private* landlord where is his choice in the matter.

but i did enjoy going the town with my mates

round the pubs for a laugh

now i stay in

im a smoker & used 2 hate commin home smellin of smoke. when i go out side now theses people moanin cos its cold lol. i just say give up or get a warmer coat.get over it it's not gunna change back just cos people moan

Debbie - not going to pubs these days I am only going on second handinfo - but my non smoking freinds tell me they smell of old BO now....

I love the fact that i can come home from the pub and i don't stink anymore. So i am for the ban.

No smoking wins every time as I gave up OH hasn't which means I get to go to pub without her...deep joy!

It's a damn shame business's are going to the wall. As smoking remains a choice surely it would be better to let licensees decide what clientele they would like to cater for.

when i lived in Kent

some pubs tried a ban

and after 2 months they gave up

as profits were well down

some faced closure

my brother owns a biker pub.until this ban it was thriving,now its gone to a huge slump.hes coming out next year.

I was born in Folkestone and even when I lived in London I would go down to Dover and get the ferry..... but I went down that way this week and took over 5 hours to do the m4 and m25 :( and that was without even going on to kent :(

Hi girls :))...... as long as cigarettes remain on sale and the goverment reaps the considerable taxes from their sale their should be pubs and clubs catering for both smokers and non-smokers.
