Thanks a lot, girls...sound advice...have texted friend and told her to get the cat to a vet. The cat is eating and drinking normally and we thought it might have been scared of fireworks or summat.

Kidneys? Is she drinking a lot more. She is a fairly old cat, they are often prone to kidney problems, or, she could be dieabitic.

Best get your friend to take her to the vet asap.
