I don't blame God....................I do blame the humans who choose to interpret ancient writings and use them to cause suffering, distress and anger though.

I have been talking with a JW friend about this --,this afternoon in fact I rang her up and she has explain in fashion that the family will feel sad at her passing but not her death if that makes sense !! as she will go with the choosen few and they will all meet again,,,,,,,,and the children if brought up as JW which they may could be ,,,will fully understand thier mothers death and will not belive they have missed out the presence of a mother or pyhical love as they to will have the same beliefs,,,,,and not see this as any kind of selfish action.!!!!

As another blood donor (just been today to give my 49th donation) I find this really upsetting.

What a waste of a young life.

Hope those 2 children are allowed to form their own opinions of this so-called religion when they are old enough.

read this in the paper today,and i was gutted for the 2 babies
i have no problem with any religion,but this 1 is over my head and i could never say no to giving somebody blood to save there life
im discusted

As the mother of a boy, who at 2 weeks old wouldn't be here without the 'mercy dash' of a blood tranfusion from Tooting down to Sussex.....

I don't understand that a mother wouldn't do what she could do to ensure a child's happy life......As in her being there :)

With religion I feel it is different interpretations and this is why there are so many problems.

I am really sorry that this young mother has died, as someone else mentioned on this thread, we have brilliant scientists and doctorsand they have not been struck down for their efforts in striving for the knowledge to make life better.

As I say, it is all down to interpretation, I really believe that.

as the mum of a little girl who might not be here if it weren't for blood donation if find it incomprehensible.......my heart goes out to the two little babies.

This is very sad,the children with no mother to cherish them as all mothers do,Its time something was done about this,there are other ways to avoid this. But it appears that even if they donate their own blood ( taken beforehand for any emergency ) they cannot have it.Rather Stupid I think. **M**.

When I read this on teletext whilst admiring someone's faith - I feel it is sad that her faith overuled her love for her babies. Could not her husband have overuled this - but then if he was a JW.

The ironic thing is had the babies been in danger and needed blood - they would have been made wards of court and given the blood. I have a very close friend of some 50 years and 11 years ago (her exOH and her children are all JW) a grandchild was born with a rare condition - she was terrified in case he would need blood and without her sons knowledge she investigated this possibility.

I do hope that both families of this young couple will have the strength to cope with this decision which to my mind, has robbed two babies of their mother who cannot be replaced.

I feel for those poor babies. Not having a mothers love through their life.
I respect anyone's religion but
I had Jehovah's knock on my door once trying to convert me. I told them that I would not be here if it hadn't been for someone else's blood many years ago. I just politely told them I could never respect their religion if not giving blood could mean loss of life.
They haven't been back since.

This is always a difficult subject and, yes, I believe there is at least one JW on this board. Everyone is entitled to follow their own beliefs for themselves. This young Mum chose to follow her belief in the knowledge that she would probably die. That was her choice, we may or may not agree with it but she was not making the choice for anyone else. I am sure the children will be brought up in a loving home.

But, it is difficult for those of us of different religions to understand the loss of such a young life.

My thoughts go out to those babies and their father, and to the parents of the young Mother.

God says life is given ....nowhere does it say you can end it when you want to !!!!!!!!!

So now 2 children will grow up with no mum...the most inportant person in their life.

What will they think when they have the full story !!!!

My thoughts are with those poor children.
Religion has robbed them of a mother, although Im sure they will be told different as they grow up,

I wont say more as this will be an emotive subject for some on the board and the last time this religion was a topic for discussion it turned very nasty.

It still leaves me angry though..
