Leaving the children of that age is neglect according to the NSPCC's book 'Home Alone'

i would just like to add to the thread just been posted hmmmmm re:Arrested for neglect? For leaving your child in a supposedly child-friendly area full of similar people, NO PLACE ON EARTH IS CHILD FRIENDLY THERE ARE EVIL PEOPLE EVERYWHERE...therefore in my personal opinion you are very nieve margaret..x

Arrested for neglect? For leaving your child in a supposedly child-friendly area full of similar people, and checking every half hour. I admit, I wouldn't do it, never did, but my parents left me at home for 4 hours every Friday to go to the pub. No, the shouldn't have done, but they did, and nobody batted any eyelid.

It wasn't neglect, it was unwise, risky, in retrospect wrong, but not neglect. We can all do things wrong as parents but it doesn' mean we are neglectful.

I know nothing more about the McCanns than anyone else. Can't pass any comment. But checking on your kids every half hour is not neglect. Like I said, unwise, risky. Different from neglect.

Sorry if I am repeating what may have already been said but if it was an accidental death due to over sedation then where does the blood traces come from? A body doesn't bleed as a result of overdose.

I've found the subtext of this whole thread positively surreal. You can manufacture every imaginable theory from partial evidence; and, partial evidence is all that is available.

The police in Portugal have said that they believe that Madeleine died in the apartment

Maddiecow

Maddiecow Report 10 Sep 2007 22:01

I agree with Janet - I dont think she was 'murdered' in the apartment and dont think anyone has actually suggested that she was.

Janet in Yorkshire

Janet in Yorkshire Report 10 Sep 2007 21:59

Kitty,
I don't think anyone considers that the child was "murdered" in the apartment. Whilst there may be theories that she may have died there, but not of natural causes, I don't think anyone believes there was any actual intent. The reports of police questioning do not suggest murder.

I think I have worked out the buggy theory re looking at the photo's I think it is very far fetched. But then again IF the Mcanns are found Guilty - hasnt the whole Maddie appeal been far fetched?

I do hope there is some concrete evidence soon and the little girl can be put to rest.

The way I see it all this information is coming from unknown sources who apparently give the press "information"

There are so very few facts in any of this only guesswork and opinions.

Maddie has disappeared, no factual evidence of how when or why, let alone who did what.

With respect to other peoples views, I really don't understand how anyone can decide that anybody is guilty of killing her, let alone speculate on how her body was disposed of.

Until an official from the police appears with proof of exactly what happened I am keeping an open mind and refuse to condemn anyone.

Yes, they did leave their children in the apartment, but repeating that over and over doesn't make them killers.

Another theory being bandied about is who else actually drove the hire car, particularly when the McCanns were out of Portugal?

yeah but joan dna is dna-don't matter who hired the car prior to the mcanns-

the dna won';t match will it and if it did then maddies dna was found prior to her going missing don't make sense to me?

Yes Maddie Moo
The Telegraph say's!

I'm not getting into any kind of argument and i'm just saying that DNA is a very sensitive and complicated issue. Until the specifics are made public all we can do is speculate and have an opinion!

As i said before i cannot make up my mind, but do find the pictures (of the buggies) in my opinion prove nothing.

IF, and I say IF the McCanns are charged and found guilty, I am sure there will be more people also charged.
