l just asked mine if l could change my mind and go to this meet (cause l did decide not to go, too much one, but what the heck!!) and he said "of course, as its you", oh bless him. So we're coming, unless l change my mind of course!!!!

l don't mind where it is, its up to everyone else - but thought the Millenium Quay might be easier to find. Bobtail should know!!? :o)

Hi Liz,
There is a wetherspoons in Llanelli, it is called the York Palace. Saturday can get busy though but its the same for most places at the weekend.

Hi Taff, just googled it and there are some odd reviews about it, have you been there?
Location wise it would be fine.

Off to bed in a mo, am cream crackered, been a long day but had a lovely time.

weatherspoons sounds like a good idea, as its not far from the station(walking distance)
p.s. its called "the Potters wheel" in Swansea centre,on the Kingsway to be precise!
any help???

Decisions, decisions, will sort this out after the weekend, am off to bed now as have to be up early to get to Jules' wedding at 11 am, not a good time for me, far too early but I am not going to miss it for the world, have to drive 45 miles too, so no drinks for me at the do after, have to drive back later on lol

Hi Liz
Hoping to get to the meet. I think that the cafe at the beach would be a great place to meet, there is plenty of parking there and easy from the station. Not sure what time it will be closing, I can slip down there and find out if you want. What about Weatherspoons, also just as easy for everyone but if staying late don't use the multi story car park as it closes quite early, 6/7 o'clockish I think.

It looks nice there Bobtail, but closes at 5pm so if we don't meet till 2pm it doesn't leave much time, when people get talking...

Hi Liz... I don't mind, truly.... I,m just really looking forward to meeting everyone! I haven't been to either area since I was a child... and the Millenium Quay looks billions better now, and really swanky, I am reliably informed!! I loved the Mumbles as a child.

If anyone wants picking up at the station, I can do that... or if anyone wants a lift, I can do that too. pm me if you want. I live in Newport, Gwent.

Love

Daff xxx

Hi Bobtail, have suggested Verdi's at Mumbles or the cafe at Millenium Quay but wanting to know if either of those and which one is the most convenient for the people who want to come along to get to.
I mailed Verdi's and they said they don't usually take bookings but could sort out something for us if I let them know. Just not sure how easy it would be for people to reach if they weren't travelling by car.

This is gonna sound really bad as Llanelli is only 45 mins from me but i dont know me way round so cant really say where a good venue is.

But the good news is that that weekend is Naths weekend off so he will be able to look after the kids for me to attend.

Have you had a word with Bobtail Pat as she knows the area well.

Jax xx

Need some feedback on the choice and practicality of venue for you all.

Frances, sorry, I won't be doing any research as have all I need from that neck of the woods thanks to my Dad's cousin, but maybe if someone else sees your plea they could help you out. I have never been to a Records Office before so wouldn't know where to start and would hate to promise something I know I would probably not find time to do. Getting time off for the meet is about all the free time I have managed so far - not taking o.h. to that as he isn't interested in anything to do with genealogy.
Sorry,
Lizx
